I absolutely love this service. It eliminates having to spend hours in the store and took me less than 10 minutes to pull in, have them load my groceries, sign my digital receipt and then leave the parking lot! A normal shopping trip for the amount of stuff I got today is easily a five hour trip from start to finish. This took about an hour and ten minutes(I was price comparing on quite a few items which wasted a lot of my time.) I just can’t explain how happy this makes me and how much time and money it saves as well. I work 50 hours a week, manage the housework and have to do the grocery shopping as well as cook dinner for a household of six people. After a normal day of just working, cooking and cleaning the last thing I want to do is grocery shop and I especially don’t want to give up my Saturday to do it either. When it first came out they didn’t offer pick up for refrigerated items or produce but now that they do you can shop completely online, pay for it and pick it all up with minimal effort. I’ve recommended it to all my friends and now I recommend it to everyone I don’t personally know. It’s quick, it’s easy, and you can avoid the anxiety of having to go into the store and dealing with whatever the universe decides to throw at you inside Walmart. Get it, try it, fall in love with it.

This is amazing and I’m so glad that Wal-Mart started doing this. You add your groceries to your cart and choose when you want to pick everything up. Pick up times were available with just a few hours notice so it’s possible to get things the same day. You have the option to accept substitutions or not. And if an item isn’t available then it tells you that in the email once you’re order has been collected. I like being able to shop while doing price comparison of brands. You can save a lot of money if you aren’t picky. And roll back items are clearly marked in red. I placed my order for pick up the next morning between 8-9 am. At 7:40 I got the email that my order was ready. You check in on the app and it uses gps to track your location so that they know when you’ll get there. You can even say what color your car is so that they can find you easier. The employees were super friendly. They load your car for you and you sign a digital receipt and then you’re good to go. I love being able to do my grocery shopping at home and spend just 20 minutes at the store instead of an hour. I’ll be using this service a lot!
  • Waste of time due to Walmart inventory

So I needed three items: sodas, trash bags, clothes hangers. The sodas aren’t always in stock so I switched my pick up store 21 that was 15 minutes away even though I live right next to one. I only drink diet Sunkist so I decided to order ten 12 packs of diet Sunkist. It was clear Walmart thought they had this soda at the store because I was able to choose a maximum of 18 where other stores did not have any available. I arrived and waited five minutes for the associate to show it might show up at my vehicle. The only thing they had of my order was the hangers; they didn’t even have 30 gallon hefty trash bags which was an item that I allowed for substitution. So for a $50 order I ended up only being able to pick up about three or four dollars worth of it. I fault Walmart inventory management for this issue. And, I don’t buy that this could be a shoplifted item for the reason inventory is off because there’s no way 12 packs of soda (18 of them) are walking out of the store. I did subsequently go into the store and verify the items were not there. Had Walmart inventory told me this I would not have wasted my time with this order. A company like Walmart where items are scanned as they leave the store really has no excuse for this gross in accuracy in inventory. I’ll give them another couple of years to get their act together before I attempt this again.
  • Curbside pickup is 2/3 available

Using curbside pickup I’ve noticed that every time I get approximately 2/3 of my order. It seems on average 1/3 of the items aren’t in stock, every time. I use to check everything for substitutes (if items not available) until I received dried basil instead of fresh, canned corn instead of fresh corn on the cob and vanilla coffee instead of Christmas blend (which wasn’t a flavored coffee just a blend of different types). Even using the substitute function I still didn’t get everything I asked for. There’s also the banana issue it says how much it is approximately for each banana and how many bananas do you want I entered 8 instead of 8 bananas I received 24 bananas I’m still puzzled by that one. I don’t understand how they have items in there app that have never been in there store I know because I called and asked why this item is never in stock and they have told me they never have had this item. I love the convenience but always order way in advance in case they don’t have it. This helps with Christmas dinner and not freaking out at the last moment because it’s not there. So use it with knowing you probably won’t get everything you ordered. Besides that I love it. Three stars for the 2/3 of my order they do have in stock.
  • Good but some aspects need improvement

The app works like it's supposed to for ordering and check in. Pretty simple to use. The substitution, I feel like it depends on the employee pulling the order. I've had some orders where they will pull the same flavor but different brand and other times I'll get a completely different flavor. It would be great if you could add notes about a 2nd preference. The other issue is fruit, sometimes you get really nice looking fruit, other times not so great. Again, I think it depends on who pulls the order and what kind of common Sense they have. Example, I had 10 of the greenest bananas that took 2 weeks to ripen. Other times they'll do some green ones and 3-4 that are good to eat now which is preferred. Online stock and in store stock are not on the same page. You just have to spend additional time going elsewhere for the missing item. If you decline a substitution you have to make sure to check your receipts to confirm you are refunded the amount. If not you have to call them and spend additional time going through the process. It's supposed to save you time but sadly the are times where it feels like after dealing with it all takes longer than a normal trip would have taken.
  • I like Walmart again

I usually hate going into Walmart. I don’t like checking out because it seems like it takes forever in store. Unloading kids and reloading/ shopping at all with them is not fun. I also don’t have one very close to me, so it’s not very convenient. Walmart Pickup is a whole different ballgame. They are fast, efficient, have never gotten my order wrong or forgotten an item. It’s two minutes away from my house. I grocery shop while laying in bed or waiting for carpool pickup. It’s literally saved me so much time! Aside from saving me time, I am MUCH better at sticking to the items I actually need instead of randomly buying items that catch my attention at the store. Saves me a ton of money just because of that. I would probably use it twice as often if the order minimum was $15 or $20. I have a hard time getting to $30 as often as I would like, so I end up stocking up on items I buy frequently, but that is the only part I don’t like.

I realize that most of the reviews that are negative are either based on earlier versions of the app or because they’re local Store is not working efficiently. My experience has been an absolute joy. The employees have been extremely courteous even with ungrateful and unadaptable Customers. Although, I only witnessed one obnoxious customers as everyone else that I’ve seen have been so happy and grateful. I have autoimmune illness that sometimes leave my joints very impaired. Shopping is a nightmare. Walking across large stores are too. I was already grateful for the choice of a Wal-mart neighborhood market. However, now I’m ecstatic over the ability to attend to the needs of my family when I’m having one of my worst days. This service kind of spoils you and I will be using it regularly. I heard about it from people who had surgery and another that had a lower limb injury, which forced them to try this option. Positive feedback spread like wildfire amongst the parents. Drop the kids off at school and go pick up your order. I see Mother’s with babies and toddlers picking up large orders. I wish I had this service a few years ago when my kids were babies. This has been the best addition to Wal-mart. Also, it may only be the product if the efforts of my local store, but I’ve seen changes in the employees who are showing more courtesy and practicing better customer service.
  • Left us in a bind!

First time trying this app & service. I spent a great deal of time picking out groceries for a special event. Everything seemed to be on track until 6 hours before pick up time, when our order was cancelled & flagged as ‘potential fraud’. I have no idea why they’d flag us, but we were REALLY relying on this service today. We have scheduled our entire day around this pick up time. We have appointments & graduation events to tend to and needed this order at 8am. Didn’t seem to be a problem yesterday when the said the order would be ready. But now at 2:00am, the day of pick up (when customer service is closed), they’re gonna say it’s cancelled?!?! Customer service won’t open until 8am & that’s when we should be picking up our groceries!! I understand looking out for fraud and all but a little notice would’ve been nice. I called the local store but they couldn’t help. They told me to try reordering, which I did. Again it was canceled. At least this time we were notified in 30 minutes . I’m so frustrated because this creates a huge problem for us. I never complain or write bad reviews but this is really screwed up deal. Thanks Walmart. Thanks.
  • Love the service but...

I’m loving the service because I have back issues and it’s hard for me to walk around the store for an hour bending down to pick groceries, lifting them, and pushing a heavy cart around the store, then unloading to purchase and loading back into my cart. This has saved me from having a lot more extra pain. So thank you so much for this service! The app is pretty good for the most part, I just have one suggestion that would make the associates and my life a little easier. Once I place the order, in the edit the order part of the app, I’d like to be able to not only change the quantity but also be able to choose if certain products I do or do not want substitutions on. I hate that I have to leave the grocery app and go to another Walmart website to make those adjustments. If you can make that possible within the grocery app, it will become a 5 STAR app! Other than that, it’s great. Thanks for what you do!

When I first heard of this, I thought it was so lazy, and that I would never do it. Well, my husband and I decided it wouldn’t hurt anything, and we would get $10 off the first time so we’d save money. We were so impressed the first time so we did it the next time and the next time. I don’t know if it just my neighborhood market (on hwy 71 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas)that makes this such a great experience, but I couldn’t imagine not using this anymore. My daughter is 7 months old, and with the flu going around, I don’t want to risk exposing her more than I have to. This saves me time and hassle with a young baby. Aside from that, the produce was as fresh as I would pick it or even fresher, the staff is always quick to bring my order out to the car, they show me eggs before putting them in my car, and they are always polite and happy. Great job Walmart! Kudos to the marketing team as well!
