App Reviews

  • If you like to learn new words...

    By jbi016
It's a pretty good, simple app. Some of the words I'm not even interested in learning, but it is interesting that they are there. Unrelated to this product: The most important thing you can do in your life is to secure your eternity. Read the Bible to make sure you know what God says about it. Here’s my personal summary: Turn away from your sinful ways (lying, stealing, lusting, coveting, self-centered ness, etc.) and give yourself, heart and soul, to Jesus Christ. (He is God in the flesh.) He died in your place to take the punishment for the sins you have committed and will commit. There’s a ton more to know, so take your soul seriously. Stop watching movies and playing games and dig into the Word of God until you have figured it out between you and God. Don’t let anyone deceive you. Go to the source—God and The Bible. Spoiler alert!!: YHWH wins. (Get on His side before it’s to late!!)
  • Exactly what I️ was looking for

    By EmilyJane exRoyer
So far, this is exactly what I wanted. Not only does it give you a new word everyday, you can go back and look at past days and what the words were. Even MORE fun and enticing for me is the search function. I am an avid reader, lots of times I come across words I can figure the meaning of just by the sentence it’s in. But this app has a function my phone lost last time ‘They’ made the new year and new phone....it will speak the words for you. That’s just invaluable to me; not only do I get to read dictionary definition, I can learn how to say the word too. Ultimately making it more likely the new words I learn will make it out into my conversation. Thank y’all for the great app and thank you for making it available without pay.
  • A Useful App

The words are at just the right level- there are some I know and some I don't. It is always good to be reminded of the concrete meaning of words you think you know, but learning new words is why I downloaded the app, and it has successfully delivered on that point as well. The definitions are direct and easy to understand. My only complaint is that the app does not use the words in a sentence. However, this isn't essential... Ever notice how as soon as you learn a word, you start seeing it everywhere? I am pleased with this app. It's teaching me knew words without the unnecessary muss and fuss some apps feel the need to include with their services. It's quick, easy, and the words build up over time so you can greatly expand your vocabulary.
  • Does What It's Supposed To Do

Word of the Day. That's a pretty straightforward explanation of what this app is and it delivers. For those who are looking to advance their lexicon, this is one to consider. Words provided vary from "oh I've heard that word before" to "is that even English?" but the app always provides the necessary information to make even the most exotic of words accessible; use of the word in a sentence, phonetics, etc. Words can be favorited and referenced later. A word of advice; coming from someone who needs coffee in the morning to begin properly functioning, having the app provide you with a new word immediately after your alarm is a great way to kickstart your brain before the caffeine strikes.
  • Interesting and fun for those who enjoy words

    By IAmTheAdventure
It’s a fun and intriguing way to kill time, leafing through these words...if that verb is still applicable. I only wish it could have a go back button and I would be able to simply tap a word I do not know thus showing me the definition. There are a couple dictionaries like that available as apps, and I have become accustomed to the feature. As this is about the word of the day, it is nice! I haven’t taken the time to fully explore this app either; meaning I haven’t tapped every button yet, so I may be missing a couple of features, but it seems pretty straightforward.
  • You know what, yeah. I’ll rate you.

    By Mitch1247
This app is one of my favorites. I commonly skip the adds and hit ‘rate this later’ but frankly I should give it its due. It’s been a phenomenal app that has admittedly given a word or two that didn’t have much relevance to me but there was a period of about five weeks where all but a handful of words were not relatable to my life. It’s an amazing and simple app that when used regularly can really expand your vocabulary and help you understand words you already know even better. Have definitely recommended it to friends and I’m recommending it to whoever is reading this.
  • Love it but room for improvement

    By j3v07
I have been using this app for several months now and I share the daily words with my coworkers. It’s actually fun to see what new vocabulary will come up and compete to use the word of the day in conversation on the same day. However, the example sentences leave much to be desired. The phrase “use it in a sentence” should be using it realistically as a way to describe something that happens but often this sentence is just more definition of the word. I suggest pulling from literature, quoting good works where the vocabulary is actually used so people can better understand how to use it in a sentence.

I generally don’t make reviews and I haven’t in three years but this app really helps with building vocabulary, it has a whole archive full of words you can refer to from a-z and the only ads I notice are once a day in the morning when I open the app which take about a second to X out of this is Probably the most useful app I have and I hope this review encourages you to at least try it out even if vocabulary isn’t really your thing there are still interesting words I guarantee you won’t know
  • This app is awesome

    By RachelAda
This app is awesome, it’s really helped me to be able to recall words better than I could before. What makes this app so helpful is that you not only see the word, but you also hear it, and you see it in a sentence which is helpful and a lot of apps don’t do that. I also like that i can favorite all the words that I wanna remember so I can just quickly go back and review them instead of having to write them all down. Word of the day has really helped me with my vocabulary. Thanks a lot!!
