  • Stuck in a password Catch-22 loop

I just downloaded this app to use for an upcoming IKEA shopping trip, hoping that the app would save me time & effort during that trip, as well as future IKEA runs. It seems like a great idea: use the app to build shopping lists both at home & in the store. At home, you can build “go-see” lists for items you want to see in person. In the store, you can make lists of showroom items to ease locating those items in the warehouse. And maybe this is a great app. But for me, I’m stuck in some weird password Catch-22. The app requires a new password - for some reason - and, again for some reason, the website refuses to allow the password change. After several minutes of troubleshooting this loop, I finally decided it’s easier to go old-school: make handwritten lists or even use a notepad-type app for both at-home browsing & store shopping. Thanks anyway, IKEA & developers.

This app has no instruction on how it works. I went to some store clerks in Jacksonville and asked them what "Collected" meant (after you've added an item to a list, your only further options are to remove it or "collect" it. Neither of the clerks knew what it meant to "collect" an item in the app. Also, unlike other similar apps from other warehouse stores, this one offers no help on locating an item in the store. Add that to the maze Ikea crates in their store that forces you to walk aimlessly among the items they want to sell you, and you are going to spend a long time in the store looking for your specific item. Perhaps that's by design, but it's very inconvenient. Other than to show you the size of the packaging and alert you to whether the item is in stock, this app is pretty much useless.
  • Something is wrong with choosing a store

I've used this app in the past and it has been very convenient. However, yesterday I was in the Montreal Ikea and when I opened it, it had Ottawa set as the store. When I went to change the store it only listed about 5 stores in the whole country and searching for Montreal brought up nothing. I deleted and reinstalled, and was finally able to select Montreal in the startup screen (although it first suggested another store even though I was inside the Montreal one!) Now I'm back home and the problem has reoccurred, it set the store to Boucherville even though Montreal is closer, and Montreal is not on the list when I try to change stores. This time deleting and reinstalling didn't work. Please fix!

I got this app about a month ago, and it has worked perfectly ever since. A few days ago, however, I noticed that all the different items I had saved were gone. I re-saved the items, but the app deleted them again the next day. I don’t know if I did something wrong, or if it’s just the app, but it would be convenient if IKEA could fix this, so I don’t have to re-save 70 different things every time I open the app. Overall a wonderful application, and so far I am happy with it, besides the mysteriously disappearing saved items.
  • App keeps deleting shopping list. 🤦🏻‍♀️

There is absolutely no point in using this app as it stands right now. IKEA must’ve not paid their app developers, because it seems that someone has driven the utility of this app straight into the ground, leaving it for dead. Or maybe I’m just Bill Murray, and this is my ‘Groundhog Day’. Allow me to explain... A couple of weeks back, just as I was getting ready to visit the IKEA that just opened nearby, their app randomly chose to delete the entire, massive shopping list I had been putting together over the last month or so. Uh, what the?! Now I’m angry AF because I gotta cancel my IKEA day. So I start combing through the catalog to compile that list again, since it’s still somewhat fresh on my mind. GASP! NOPE. NOPE NOPE. Their useless app deleted my list again. Then again. Then yet again again. Obviously I had to give up on my IKEA day. At least for now. I need some time to regain sanity and feel less bitter towards the yellow and blue giant. But next time I make an IKEA shopping list, it’ll definitely be via website and printing it out BY HAND. Don’t trust this app. Save yourself a headache.
  • Do not use

First of all this app is just for stores, it does not allow you to order on line! I do not know how they are in stores but do not order on line if you want your stuff to get to you in the next few months cause that’s how long you will wait!!! They give you a date of delivery which does not happen and when you try to find out when your order will come they either don’t pick up for an hour or the circuits are busy. After holding for hours if you even get someone they will not know anything and will give you delivery company number who will not know anything either and refer you back to Ikea who in turn will not answer the next time!!! Unbelievable!!! Never again!!!
  • Totally messed up my shopping trip

I added a bunch of items to my list (while properly logged in to my account) but when I got to the store, all those items disappeared from my list! I had gotten multiple server issue notifications when I was adding the items (actually I get that notification every time I add something to my list) but I didn’t think it would erase the whole thing. While I was in the store I could add items to my list and they stayed, but I lost a bunch of product info so I wound up not buying everything I needed. Really annoying. It’s a shame cause I actually like ikea’s products a lot. It just made my shopping experience completely irritating.
  • Disappointing App

I’ve had this app a couple of times now (pretty sure I deleted bc of this same issue last time). It works fine at first but after about a week, I went to browse my shopping list and the app had logged me out. Fine. No big deal, just log back in, right? Wrong! It kept saying my password was wrong. I kept retrying until I got locked out and was forced to reset on the website. Go through that process only to go back to the app and log in only to be told my password is wrong! Do yourself a favor and just add the website to your home page as a link (you can do this is Safari on iPhone, not sure about Androids).
  • Updates have helped!

In October 2017 I had this app and was so annoyed with how slow it was, didn’t load products or would randomly quit. With the updates, a lot of the annoying issues previously mentioned are gone. The app redesign is a little more user friendly which helps a lot when planning your ikea trip. There is still room for improvement, my app sometimes closes when I click on an item located in the wishlist section.
  • Love/Hate Relationship with this app

Love having easy access to the site/catalog of products. Glad you can now switch between shopping lists but wish it was easier. Also wish it was easier to transfer products between lists (move one saved product on one list to another list). Hate Hate Hate that I’m constantly having to re login and that it doesn’t always accept my login info. Annoyed that the back arrow isn’t working in newest update. Annoyed that the app and website aren’t always current for the store’s inventory (you get to the store and the product is suddenly out of stock and the woman at the desk says to call ahead...🙄. What’s the point of even showing the inventory then?!) Wish they would implement the “pick up in store” option like Target. Wish the search on the app was intuitive like the website.
