App Reviews

  • Great app🙂

    By Mhm.meow
I have this app on my iPhone, and I think it’s great. I don’t get on that much but when I do it’s always fun. Whether I’m watching or streaming. The only thing is, I understand that if I leave the whole window the video will end. That’s fine. But I can’t even answer a text without it ending. I’ve seen people who stream hands free, and it’s obviously not their phone they’re using because they usually have their phone next to them. So I assumed that maybe they were using a laptop or something. Until I looked at the app here I didn’t realize it wasn’t compatible with my Mac. I thought using my laptop would be so much easier so I could use my phone and not worry about accidentally ending the video. I don’t have an iPad or any of that, so I mean I COULD get one... but it’s not something I can afford, and I already have a laptop with a camera on it. So if you guys could make the app compatible with laptops, that’d be GREAT. (I’d just say Mac since you already support most apple products, but it’d be nice for people not using a Mac too. I know programming and stuff is hard, so, No pressure!)
  • Useless. 5 star for the app execution.

    By Ihop23947
It serves no real purpose. The top 6 periscope users are: 1. People smoking weed. 2. Females being watched by creepy perverts who ask the most inappropriate questions ever. 3. Muslims. All over. It’s amazing how many Muslims are on periscope all across Europe. 4. Women selling clothes in plastic bags they get from some third world country that are the weirdest patterns. 5. Musicians. Piano, guitar, people who can’t sing/play/etc but nobody has had the guts to tell them they stink or they are really good. 6. People all over the world doing average everyday things like driving to work to eating pizza. That’s it. The only thing I have learned being on periscope and using it for years is we are all the same. I knew this of course, but it confirms it. Russia. America. South America. France. Doesn’t matter where. We all want the same things. We all just want to be with friends, laugh, eat and live. The racism, the hate, the wars, etc in this world is all BS. We are all the same.
  • Periscope great for access, but has a few more fixes to do

    By @Jazzyjean123
I love Periscope because of the access it provides users for free from a variety of sources whether large firms like ABC News or Bloomberg, funerals, hearings and great rocket launches too NASA, Musk, or just plain everyday individuals in the US or internationally who film beautiful landscapes they see or let us join them for a boat ride or shopping in Hong Kong. However I could not give Periscope 5 stars because it has some user issues: We need to be able to indicate which videos we want to Save to view later and not keep a long list of what happens to have been sent—our favorites or “star” should determine what we want to keep or have ability to indicate ‘No’ not interested in that so there’s no long list of broadcasts we can’t reposition or delete—you get the idea Periscope! If users can only send invites to our followers, why have the main Twitter button there? Thanks in advance...
  • App is ok but too many people with issues use it

    By aadhduddudhd
I am in total agreement with the previous users comment from Nov 28. The app is ok, but all too often I click on what I may think will turn out to be an interesting live scope to watch and find that it’s either someone doing a strip show, sometimes soliciting money, and the most common thing I see is people doing drugs live on camera. I have used the app less than 6 months and have lost count of how many times I have seen people live suddenly they pull out drugs and either smoke weed, crack, or meth right on camera for the world to watch. I doubt the app was designed for this trash. If they want their friends to watch them do drugs from far away they need to go to skype or FaceTime because the entire rest of the world doesn’t care to see it. Sure those people may need help but someone watching them live in chat is not going to be able to convince them of that while they’re doing the drugs.
  • Customer support doesn’t help with safety

    By Hollythebird
I reached out along with a friend to periscope through e-mail and twitter about a pressing issue in periscope. Periscope doesn’t alert you who has screenshotted or screenrecorded you. It only shows that someone did it. I reached out to periscope help to bring this to their attention, telling them that women are finding screenshots of themselves online because of this, telling them this has become a safety issue. I got the canned response of “Hi, we don't have plans to show who is taking screenshots in broadcasts, but we'll certainly communicate your feedback to our team. Thanks for reaching out about this.” The customer support/periscope team doesn’t take interest in user safety and are far behind technologically speaking. Snapchat alerts you who screenshots, periscope still is behind, and doesn’t care because they just want the money. Do yourself the favor and find another app that does show you and cares about the safety of their users.
  • It’s been along time since much has change

    By hernandezrluis
The app is self has been almost big free and video have been improved in quality. There are minor things but one thing I would like to see is the chat to be more cleaner and the transitions to be behind video when in portrait mode. Usually it cover up the entire face of the prospective view of the speaker. Would be nice to have video place above so there can be more comments to view or a slider so we can review some of the comments before they vanish. This would help with commenting control and also to make it safer to report bad comments with better speed and precision, before the comment vanish. Maybe just one font size down for the comments. Video should be better when in portrait mode

I’m beginning to like Facebook LIVE a bit better now that I’ve used it a couple of times. A lot of times I will put my camera on a tripod and walk away from it While I’m televising. there may not be a whole bunch of watchers but there could be a comment or two ... and if it’s 15 minutes long ...I don’t want to have to fish through the whole thing looking for the comment!! IT would be nice if we could find (comments made by anyone or everyone) right away. Because I know I watch people who televise and comments fly by so fast they can’t answer them all right away, it would be cool if (they wanted to) they could go back over there broadcast and answer those questions to those people individually in a (email response, or rebroadcast!! Or maybe I’m just crazy. Since there is no “contact us” option on Periscope, I have nowhere else to share my comments. I hope someone in the right place herd me!
  • I’m beginning to no longer enjoy this app

    By Jaye2kay
The video quality has gotten better but my main issue is the sound and rewinding for older streams. When watching an old video every 20+ seconds there is a pause in the sound which is extremely annoying and makes me not want to use the app anymore. Also, the comments sometimes appear before what the person says. For example, the person is talking about something that happened in childhood but a comment, with specific details, appears before that part of the stream begins. Additionally, if I rewind the video the comments are even more out of sync as well as the fact that what the person was saying in the first 5 minutes is now repeating at minute 30. Please fix this.
  • Best live stream!

    By Yikbfzb
There are many live streams but Periscope is unique! Not really a fan of IG Live from what I can see Periscope is still better. One request I really feel Periscope just consider especially now that we have audio broadcasts is allowing the video to still play in the background even when you exit the app the way podcasts do on your phone. It’s annoying to not be able to multitask and have to only keep the periscope app open to listen to content on there. Also if there would be a better way to block phone calls and texts from disrupting the video so it doesn’t end before you’re finished.
  • Great app except

    By SuzyQ4JC
Periscope is easy 2 use & opens a whole new world of interactive media to the user. U can discuss various issues on your mind, go to places & c things u maybe couldn’t otherwise, learn new things about other people & their culture & heritage, listen to musical artists, watch an artist create, join a cooking scope,a breaking news scope, have conversations & consider other viewpoints, all kinds great things to do. There is sure 2 b a scope u will enjoy going on in the app somewhere anytime, day or night. This is great to learn about so many things in the world. It connects people n a way no other app I have ever used has been able to. The negative is that, as other types of social media tend to do, I c it can unfairly target Conservative or Christian viewpoints. Also 2 many copy bots. As with any social media use, use common sense & protect yourself & your identity. I also wouldn’t suggest a child 2 b involved in this app without direct supervision by their parent or guardian. Clean the issue of unfair targeting of viewpoints & the copy-bot issue up & I’ll give it 5 stars.
