Downloading and installing HBO NOW on your Windows PC

1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

3: How to Use HBO NOW for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type HBO NOW in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on HBO NOW application icon. A window of HBO NOW will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the HBO NOW icon. Click on it and start using the application.

  • Needs more organization

    I've been using the months for 2 months now and it has a few minor issues that all have to do with the organization and convince of the app. One of them is that if if you do not finish whatever you're watching---when you come back to the app, it will replay from the very beginning. However, sometimes this was NOT a problem. It just simply continued where I left off. Another issue is that it does not have a "Continue Watching" or "Watch History", so I had to search for what I was watching every single time I closed the app. I did experience some connection problems, or what I thought to be connection problems such as my entertainment being very rudely interrupted by a blank screen with the audio still available in the background or freezing up. Also, it sometimes took a long time for my entertainment to load. I found that I had a much more pleasant and/or near-perfect experience when connected to high speed internet. Other than this I had no other problems. Even these never frustrated once. I simply reloaded the app or fast-forwarded through what I was watching to find where I left off.

    Navigation and tracking are absolutely terrible in this app. You have to search for what you were watching each and every time you come back. You can only add episodes, not series, to your watchlist. You can’t turn off auto play. Basically, a disaster from a usability perspective. Too bad, too, since HBO programming is so good, and HBO Now gives you access to every bit of it. Get your act together, HBO, and design an app worthy of your shows and subscribers. UPDATE: Developer response dated Mar 12 appeared instantly after I posted this review on October 16. Response refers me to a link for information about auto play, but I had checked the HBO NOw help files only a few minutes before writing this review and learned that auto play cannot be turned off. If the link in the developer’s response were live, I might have clicked through to some new information already, but it’s not live. So I guess I’ll have to sit down and type the convoluted URL into a browser in order to learn more. Yet another example of this developers ineptitude when it comes to usability!
  • Don’t waste your time!

    One star doesn’t begin to describe the frustration and irritation that you’ll encounter when trying to use this app. First off, the layout is pretty crappy and when you click on one thing it takes you to another. I TRIED to sign up for a free trial because this is the only place besides Syfy to watch Harry Potter for free, it’s no biggie cancel it at the end of the 30 days right? NOPE! I can’t even get my free trial started because I have to enter my Apple ID info and since I don’t have a credit card on file, it REJECTED my free trial and told me I was unable to continue. Now why on earth do I need a credit card for a FREE trial?! So 20 minutes later, here I am, still unable to watch ANYTHING on the app (since apparently you need the free trial to do anything). I’ve had better luck with reasoning with my two year than this app! What’s the point in calling it a free app if you need a subscription (that you can’t get) in order to watch anything? Long story short: Don’t waste your time or money on this stupid app. It leaves MUCH to be desired, is overall confusing & seems like they just want to make money off you.
  • Beware - they don't recognize account user names when you change platform

    Beware - they don't recognize account user names when you change platform. So I was working with HBO NOW's representative a few weeks ago. They assured me my account (which is tied to my Apple ID email address) that I could login on my iPhone via the HBO NOW app. I even told them that I had originally signed up for HBO NOW via Roku. I wanted to know if my login for the HBO now I pay for each month can be used on my phone. They said yes. They said the same email means it would work. I went to log in last week or so and it ended up charging me a NEW subscription fee... even though it's the same email address and account!! I'm so angry. They kept telling me that Apple is accountable for the fee and refund and that they can't resolve anything. They apologize that their system didn't recognize that the same account already had HBO NOW. So I'm reaching out to get a refund for the duplicate HBO now subscription I have paid twice for this month. HBO NOW has been awful to work with and crappy when trying to use on phone and stream.
  • One Star Doesn’t Even Explain It

    This is marketed as a streaming service yet I just be the only person with a Chromecast that’s having an error 3 message. I called and complained about this message and didn’t get any help, basically that their escalating the issue to the developers. The developers responded with a 7 part question, more like a scavenger hunt for a ton of misc. info of IP address things like that. So I provide the info and do hear back for a couple weeks. They did get back to me telling me that it’s tripping off an error 3? I could have told you that and I did! I have yet to understand the time lapse on why it took to long, basically they tell me to unplug the chromecast and plug it back in?!?!!!! For real??? All that for some basic plug and unplug? You must be kidding? Nope, it’s all they had for me. Unbelievable and then proceeded to tell me the problem lies with Google and to call them. So, I’m out $30 for a less than sub-par product and your help team isn’t fooling anyone. I would never purchase this and I’m letting everyone know to not do the same. HBO took my $$$, don’t let them take yours.
  • Pure garbage

    Allow me to add my voice to the chorus of frustrated users who have been screwed over by this app. First of all apple just charged me out of blue to renew my subscription even though I cancelled it months before. Then I got absolutely no help from Apple and they were happy to keep my money when I tired to rectify the situation. Finally I decided I would just keep the stupid subscription for a month. But lo and behold, every time I try to log in, no matter what device I'm on, it gives me the same stupid message about how I need to renew my membership. Sometimes after fighting with it for 10 minutes it finally lets me log in and watch. Most of the time I give up and go watch Netflix. This app is garbage Update: when I get around the log in issues, programs simply won't load if I'm using Safari, and on Firefox it constantly skips and jumps around. Extremely frustrating. Luckily my subscription expires in a few days and I won't have to deal with this garbage anymore. That is, unless Apple decides to just automatically renew it charge me out of the blue after I cancel it

    I have not written an app review before but this one was worth it. I tried to register for an account by pressing the 1 month free trial. I input my email and password. Then when I clicked create it prompted me to input my Apple ID password. I did not know it. Tried to click the home button to access another app which contains my password. The home button would not let me out of the app. I could only click cancel and okay. Clicking okay told me I put in an incorrect password which was true because I had not entered the password I did not know. Clicking cancel butted me back to the home screen of the HBO app. Before retrying I went and viewed my Apple ID password to make sure this did not happen again however when I went to create the account it said my email was already taken. I tried the log in option instead of the sign up option. It let me log into the account I just created. However, I cannot watch any content. It says my HBO account must be renewed. Where did my one month free trial go? That wasn't a month that was 5 minutes.
  • Worst app ever

    Being a HBO fan, I was shocked by how awful this app is. Especially the login authentication process. I've had two horrible experiences so far. 1. Last year, when Game of Thrones started streaming, I decided to give the free 1-month subscription a try, so I did. Downloaded the app, and started the subscription, then signed in before the season started, what do you know I cannot sign in, unknown error. And I got spoiled all over. 2. Now this year, it happened AGAIN. Just when I'm ready to stream the finale of season 7, it firstly complained that some error has occurred, then when I tried streaming it through my browser, I got this "too many devices streaming". I honestly have no idea why their system is written this way. When subscribers desperately trying to sign in to watch your content, you lock them out? And after I called the technical customer service, they told me that I can only wait for 30mins for the system to unlock me. They cannot do anything to override this. Seriously, I paid for the streaming service and got locked out right before the finale.
  • The app is garbage, customer service is atrocious

    HBO content is what it always has been, a small handful of shows per year that you will find fantastic and access to a small number of films per year that you cared to see but haven’t yet. This app gives you access to that content for a far better price than cable plus whatever. The app itself is mind bogglingly terrible. Aside from frequent crashes and failures to load (I have uninstalled & reinstalled the app more than any other app, ever), there is no easy access to the content you want to watch (e.g. no adding an entire show to a watchlist), no rhyme or reason to any “Feature” menu, and any app update could produce any number of odd, unexplainable changes that will cost you A LOT of time to remedy. Customer support is always there and always willing to spend the time with you to help fix whatever the latest HBO programing screw up is, which is great. But there is absolutely no care in the world for the time you have to waste to fix the product you have paid for and they have managed to screw up again.
  • Your App needs a lot of work

    I've been paying for this app for a year and a half. I just can't take it no more. $15 a month for this is just ridiculous, it doesn't work 90% of the time. Wifi or data doesn't seem to matter. Upon opening the app, takes forever to load and titles, let alone a movie I would like to watch. When it finally does load, start watching and with in the first 30 seconds it is already buffering. I know it is not my wifi or my data. I have no issues with any other paid apps, that I use to watch movies. So that tells me it is HBO. HBO needs to seriously put forth a lot more effort into this app. 5 updates this past year of service and it never fixes a dam thing. You guys are horrible, and really need to hire some good help that gives a dam. One fed up customer right here and will not recommend this app to anyone one. Save your money and spend it else where. I must be a fool for hoping they would fix the issues and kept paying for it. Lesson learned the long hard way. Heave my advice and spend else where.
