App Reviews

I am very confused. I started playing this game yesterday and it was amazing! When I went back in it today, apparently I needed to find a hat. There was this sparkling circle around the dresser so, naturally I clicked it. When I clicked it an icon came on my screen saying “Downloading missing content” now this didn’t bother me too much I just thought I would have to wait a little while and then get back to this amazing game but, that is not at all what happened... sorry I love suspense lol. Anyways, right after that icon disappeared it said something along the lines of “Couldn’t download content please try again” Now naturally I was a little disgruntled but, I tried it again and again the content couldn’t download. Now I am an optimistic person so I deleted and then redownloaded the app. I then went back into the app and it saved my progress so, I again needed to find a hat so, I went to the dresser with the glowing stuff around it and it said “Downloading content” and then “Could not download content please try again” so I tried again not once, not twice but, 8 TIMES before I came to write this review. I would also like to point out that I saw that Version 2 was created a few days ago so it could be a problem with that. My question is why isn’t it working and is there anyway I can get this amazing app to work again? Please answer promptly. Thx -Carly
  • Great game!

I love this game. Detective-like games like this are some of my favorites, and this is no exception! The visuals are great, the voice acting is amazing, and everything seems so well polished! While I understand that this type of game can take a long time to develop and you need a way to keep people from speeding through it and becoming uninterested, I dislike the energy system a bit. It’s understandable, as I said, but i feel that there are too many things that require energy. Mainly the items, since energy recharges slowly and theres so many items in each search area. Maybe if the item energy cost was lowered from 5 to 1, but it just feels like a way to get me to play for maybe 5 minutes then put it away the rest of the day. That’d be my only recommendation, and maybe 1 energy every 6 minutes instead, but aside from that, this game is amazing. Thanks for this experience, and keep up the great work!
  • Beautiful game marred by energy system

I’d like to start off with the positives: The game is absolutely stunning - the visuals, the audio, and the story were equally as gorgeous and fascinating. I was genuinely surprised at the quality of production. Although I figured out the murderer quite early on in the first case, I found the story to be engaging and suspenseful! The voice acting was particularly fantastic. However, the energy system is definitely flawed. I’m generally not one to complain about these sorts of things, as I don’t feel entitled to a free product (especially one as well made as this one), but the energy consumption IS far too costly. I bought the 9.99$ package but was disappointed to find that it only contained enough energy to finish the chapter - one I had already completed halfway before my purchase. It only takes about 3-4 hours to complete a chapter, so that would mean spending around 20$ for each chapter, which is overpriced. I don’t regret my purchase, but I wish it wasn’t as unfair. I would much prefer a flat purchase price for each episode at the very least (perhaps $5-8 each). Trying to complete a scene only to find out you’ve run out of energy is nothing short of frustrating and demotivating. I feel like this game would be far better off as a desktop hidden object game... there is a bigger audience for it there, and one that’s at least partially more sympathetic.
  • I never write a review

This game is good,I love the narrative sorry line, I hated the games where you had to read and play. I feel more into the game this way the graphics are good. However the amount of energy it takes to play a scene and reload is ridiculously slow. I had 86 energy points played one scene and was down to 11 so the fact that your forced into buying or waiting for the energy is typical game cache. I love the game but do something about the amount maybe through out the game we can also find energy. Because I will not ever pay for points or energy again. I remember what happen to me back in 1982 lol just playing however gardenscape or whatever it’s called drained me I had to go to gamers anonymous because I was an addict I can’t even look at the game but I do forgive the game. First step to recovery.....come on make this game great again and remove the energy skim and let us play.

This could be a great game but the developers seem to be a bit greedy to make it fun. I don't mind paying for some energy but the play time is so short before you need energy that it is just frustrating. Plus, you have absolutely no idea how much energy you are using because there is no energy usage bar on the screen. As you play the game and try to make a move then it says your out of energy. You have no idea that is going to happen because you have no idea how much energy you are using for each move and you have no measurement of how much energy you have left. Definitely need to have an energy usage bar on the play screen and define how much energy is used for moves. There are also no rewards in this game which gives you no incentive to keep playing. Otherwise, I love the story and graphics. I hate to stop playing but it's not worth my time if it becomes more frustrating than fun. Developers- fix these issues and you have a winner. Just my humble opinion.

So far, so good. Until now (I just entered Anna’s room) It was allright, not particularly special. Hopefully, it will improve. - A day later ... Well, of course they ask you to review the game at the end of the introductory period! Until now they “gave” you enough energy for the first few tasks! Now you have to “pay”, either with real money or with time. You can accumulate up to 200 energy points by waiting ... 1 energy point every 8 minutes, and you need a lot of energy just to perform simple tasks! I don’t like this, mostly because I will lose my train of thoughts when I have to stop playing every few minutes. I would rather pay a lump sum to unlock the whole game, rather than pay just to be able to proceed through the game, but of course this way they hope to hook you and make a lot more money. Sorry, the game looks nice, good graphics, but I don’t like being “played” like that.
  • Like the game but...

It takes waayyyy too long to restore energy, this will make people lose interest quickly if it’s too hard or takes too long to make any progress. Even overnight only about half the energy is restored and all used up before one puzzle is completed. This is frustrating and will make a lot of people lose interest and give up. So there’s nothing like wasting your time to not even be able to finish a puzzle, run out of energy, come back hours later and have to start all over again only to have to quit in the middle of a puzzle. No thanks, things are frustrating enough as it is. The lack of time (unless you want to spend a bunch of $$) will be the downfall, unless the mods change how the energy is doled out and quit being stingy with the time, this game won’t be successful because of the fact that you can’t get anywhere.
  • Please Change Energy System (or explain it)

    By dearrissa
I love this game, the story is interesting and you can do more than searching for items, like mini games and exploring the B&B for coins and tickets. My problem with the game is... I can’t figure out the energy system for he life of me. It literally takes a day and a half, if not two, to regain 200 energy points which last maybe 2 scenes if you don’t find coins or tickets in the meanwhile. There have been updates for more stories, but no updates on the energy system which is the big problem most people have from what I’ve read in the reviews. If this problem gets changed, I would gladly give 5 stars...but until then I’ll keep hoping something changes. (Played yesterday around 4pm, ran out of energy and just checked again at 4:27am the next day, only 53 points/200 points gained since yesterday)
  • Disappointing

    By Suceq69
I agree with the others the game is actually great, nice graphics decent storyline, at least so far. But the energy depletion rate is outrageous as is the time it takes to get it back. If you can’t play the game for free then it shouldn’t be a free game! I will not play long if it doesn’t improve. I have only been playing the game for less than a week, and I have say I enjoy it very much, but I can barely play once a day and that it very frustrating. I think energy needs needs to fill up much, much quicker or maybe cut down the amount used. Maybe only use energy just for the puzzles, so we can do more than one every day or two. I really hope they improve this because I would love to continue playing for a long time. But I will get bored if I can’t play at least couple times a day! Please improve this, the game is definitely worth it. I would even pay to play with energy refilled every two or three hours like most other games.
  • I do like the game

    By crazynina2002
The game is great. One of the best interactive hidden object games I’ve played. In app purchase doesn’t bother me at all. I do not like how misleading it was when it came to the energy bar. It doesn’t bother me that there is an energy bar, but in general game play you would not know it was there until you ran out of energy. The other issue with the energy use is when in a hidden object scene apparently you are also using energy to find said objects. Upon running out of energy the game will inform you that you can either buy energy or wait for the energy bar to fill up. What it doesn’t tell you is that it will consume the little energy that you have left and it will take hours upon hours for the energy bar to fill up. I do like the game I just wish some aspects were more clear and that you could play more than once a day. Also to have more opportunities to earn energy, and not to have to spend energy in hidden object scenes.
