Using Medly on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install Medly on your computer in 4 simple steps below:

1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR
B. Bluestacks App .
Personally, I recommend the "B" option as Bluestacks is very popular so if you run into any trobles using it, you can find good solutions on Google or Bing (lol).

2: Now Install the Software Emulator on your Windows PC

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.

3: How to Use Medly for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type Medly in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on Medly application icon. A window of Medly will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Medly icon. Click on it and start using the application.

  • I found this amazing! 👍🏻

Glad that this app was the only app I did. One year ago, with my iPad 2 I started Medly before 32-bit devices weren’t compatible at the time, I started playing and trying hard to make everything complex. 10/10 quality, 7/10 notes and audio, and 10/10 graphics. If anybody is a genius at music, pick this app because it’s the best. I loved this app too well and I’m still addicted to it. Besides that, I can make almost 75 complex songs but had to take other people’s melodies because I can’t make my own melody. Glad the book icon helped me. I can make it easy by just pressing and holding the melody that was left. And coming up to the mixer. When I first started doing Medly on my iPad 2, instead, I have to make the notes higher because it was too quiet, to be honest. But then, I didn’t notice that there was a mixer in the left side, but now I don’t even make the notes higher anymore, unless I really need to do that. Better than Auxy, the thing is that Auxy didn’t have any available melodies that the company has. I would choose this app better than Auxy, because it’s the best.
  • 10/10 UI & general app but new genres packs are lacking

I love this app! Making music was a passion I set aside ever since my explosive break up with GarageBand. Thanks to Medly, I can start mixing tunes no matter where I am, easily and efficiently. As a developer, It’s rare for me to come across a REAL public use app (rather than design mock ups or $$$$ apps I don’t need) that’s UI/UX is inspirational. I myself aim to create applications that are as clean cut, easy to use and that actually runs smoothly! #devboss #killedit With that said, my only and I really mean only wish is that new genre packs would be available soon!!! The ones we have now are hella rad and I can use all of them for some decent tunes. Yet! The available packs can only go so far since I mostly listens to future bass, trap, dubstep, bass and many electronic dance styles that are, in four words, face melting musical carnage. I weep about the fact there’s not a lot of options for me to play with. I’m sure your working on it! I will wait patiently with eager hope for some new packs that are more my style. Otherwise, keep up the spectacular work and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!

I have purchased the Jazz pack, and I am disappointed. I wanted to purchase the pack because I wanted to write out some of the pieces from my previous year in my schools band. The reason I am dissatisfied is because the range for the instruments doesn’t change at all. I was hoping for there to be an option for me to change the octave of the instruments, as I played the Baritone Saxophone. But there wasn’t. I had used the Low A (two ledger lines below the staff) numerous amounts of times and was sad that I couldn’t change it. I don’t want to just move up my music an octave because I’m lazy.... lol. This paragraph has basically just been a persuasive ‘essay’ for you to add an option to lower the octave range. Another hint I would like to mention is that the Gb and G for the Baritone Saxophone sound weird when put on the octave above the lowest F. Thank you for seeing this if you ever do, because I love this app and want to see it succeed.
  • Bugs fixes to unfix(???), limits to delimitize(?).

+ Add up to 64th and 48th notes. I feel held back by the lack-there-of of these options. + Add in actual, tangible copy+paste buttons (in note editor), as well as one for undoing and redoing. + Add ability to horizontally zoom into note editor for easier time with denser notes (if they are ever implemented). RESPONSE: I figured you’d be bringing back the undo button. I am more concerned with the fact that it was also gesture based when it was around and gesture based controls hate me for whatever reason. UPDATE: So the app updated earlier today and a bug that caused the Future Bass flutter synth to stop “fluttering” was squashed. Despite the issues it caused with other songs I already had made, it grew on me in just a couple minutes. Soon enough I had a great tune going with it, and I saw the update that would fix the bug. Now the song has been, in essentials, beaten over the head with a sledgehammer covered in butterfly stickers. So if you can bring that back without having to beat yourself over the head with a sledgehammer covered in butterfly stickers, please do. UPDATE: Exports have gone bad, several notes just don't play. For shorter songs (less than 10 bars) the second half does not render. RESPONSE: The issue with exporting wasn't set to a particular project, it was an issue throughout all of them, however, as of right now, it seems that issue has disappeared.
  • For Those Who Love Making The Music

Okay, I want to start out by saying you do NOT need to buy any of the in app purchases in order to make awesome tunes. Everything you need to start with is already there, but if you want to go advance or fine tune your music, I would suggest getting the band pack. Second, the app is EXTREMELY easy to get the hang of, even if you buy the band pack. I’m usually slow in “getting to know” apps, but this came as easy for me. Third, I have no problems with the app in terms of glitching or crashing, other than the times where I make everything extremely loud, which causes the app to either make it staticky or crash, but this is only due to the fact that I tried making it INCREDIBLY loud. This app is simple, easy, but the things you can make on it is incredible.
  • New Medly sounds grating and annoying, please fix.

Everything sounds different with the new update and not in a good way. It sounds so grating and sharp and it’s really annoying. I attempted to fix it by messing with the HiLo option but wasn’t happy with the results. The drums have this effect where everything else gets quiet when one plays. This is something I notice in a lot of modern edm and I kind of hate it!! I herd a a setting called ducker being mentioned but I can still here this effect clearly when ducker is turned all the way down on all the instruments. The bass is also different it sounds deeper which is ok but it’s also kind of muffled, this is a problem because I like to use a bass sound called overdrive as a lead by turning the pitch all the way up and now it sounds kind of muffled. I regret not saving my songs before this update because now they sound weird. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate all the new stuff in Medly but I want my songs to sound like they did before and for new songs I make to not sound too harsh.
  • Amazing, but this is a suggestion.

I love it! All the different sounds, all the different ways you can make music, all the combos you can make with the music, it’s just amazing... but there is only one problem with me, and it’s something I want content-wise. I want something like the “8-bit plugin.” Something like the “8-bit plugin” is essential for the music I want to make. I am an Undertale nerd, so I want it. Also, people should be able to upload sounds to use and there is an in-app currency you can buy or earn to get things from the store. This would be marvelous, but these are only suggestions. I think this would make you a tremendous amount more money, and us, as users of the app, would love it. Oh and we should be able to download FLPs, too. This would be awesome.

First off, the email for support. They reply usually within 1 minute-30 minutes. This is awesome because if you need help, they’re right there and are able to assist quickly. Also, the possibilities of making music are pretty much endless. It can be slightly hard because of rhythms, but after a while, you will get the hang of it. But, I will be dropping it a star because the only type of music that is free is the starter. It’s handy for a while, until all of the sounds sound so boring. There are other packs, but they cost 3 dollars each, and 10 dollars for larger packs (multiple smaller ones inside). I know the apps need to make money, but it shouldn’t be 3 dollars for a pack of classic instruments. Other than that, great app and staff helping with the app! =)

Please please please add custom bars! I keep ending up with an extra 1/2 or 3/4ths a bar! If we can cut bars and sections up it would add more flexibility! I have a small moment where it only needs 1/4th bar for example. I tried to get around it but it ruins the organized structure. A way to adjust individual tempos, especially for imported sounds. It’s not always clear when you first import. It would be cool to edit that later if needed without having to re-import. Something that lets you add extra sound to things like piano so it harmonizes better without needing to know the right keys to use without ruining the main tune, I keep hitting this problem. Maybe have harmonized notes settings for the keys, like how you can show/hide the “#” thing. Something that can make instruments sound more realistic and blended like the horn I noticed is hard to get to sound like a real one. Maybe have pre-sets for certain effects like in the previews. Making it have add-on compatibility in GarageBand would be neat. I love the graph layouts for this and the fact I can see all the notes at once rather than guessing. I wish I could use GB instruments and effects on this interface.
  • Best musical app on the app store!

I have been using this for a year and it has gained my heart! Whenever I am bored. I’ll hop onto the app and make some simple tunes! But lately, I have gotten a bit better at making music, and would like to add my own lyrics to the songs I make. I find the audio feature very useful, but it is not really enough for me. I would love it if y’all could add a setting for the audio so it plays through the whole track, instead of just playing on a bar and then stopping. It’d make singing on the app a hella lot easier! Anyway, thank you for creating this app. It has been such an influence on my musical personality!!! 😜
