App Reviews

  • App Needs a Little Work

    By Krissy456
We had a large group and used the app to keep everyone in contact for our cruise. We were on a Spirit Class ship so it’s a little older. For a schedule of events, it worked well. Would like to see more information like what deck we are disembarking from at ports. I know this can change with the tides, but the information can be updated as it changes. Just a thought on days at sea when the naturalist is on the loud speaker, maybe add a reminder of what channel to turn to on the TV so people with balconies can tune in and can hear them. Our main complaint was the texting part of the app. This is terrible. It works some of the time and not always with everyone in your party. We were constantly having to shut the app down and restart it while sending the same message multiple times to get them through. Again, we had a mix of iPhone and Samsung users. Seemed to do ok with Apple to Apple users. Not so good with getting texts between Apple and Samsung. No one got all of the messages. It would be nice to send more than alphanumeric messages like photos or locations but that takes bandwidth, and that can be expensive on a ship. With a few more tweaks this can be a very useful app. Will have to try it out on our next cruise which is on a newer ship.
  • Great App

    By jlorozco6
I really like this app! I am able to see what’s going on around the ship and sales that are going on in the shops and most of all I liked being able to see my pictures with the app before going down to pixels to order my pics. You can also order the pics from the app but I wanted to also see them on a bigger screen before making my final decision. I also like that the app stays on ships time and I was able to keep track of time with no worry about getting back to the ship on time from my excursions. I didn’t buy the $5 messaging to message my family on the ship, but I am defiantly going to get it next time cause I think it would be worth the $5. (Suggestion) Maybe carnival could do a family deal per cabin because $5 certainly would add up for a large family. My mom used the app to keep track of my nephew, nieces and my disabled sister and she says it was great. There was a lot of children with disabilities on the ship and I did see one of them get lost. She did find her parents but it did take some time, so I think this app with the messaging would have defiantly benefited in situations like this.
  • Download in advance !!!

    By jvb352
Luckily I downloaded the app prior to entering the ship because I did not want to pay for Wi-Fi wasn’t really necessary for me and my family, if you do not download in advance you will have to pay for the Wi-Fi on the ship to just to download the app!!! One change to the app would be to have a menu of all events for the day all I seen was what’s happening now so unless you carry the paper with you that they leave in your room for the itinerary for the day I didn’t see that on the app which I think would be a big improvement. Our ship was Carnival miracle out of the Port of Tampa, the best thing that I realized was under your account on a summary they charged my credit card for gratuities without me authorizing it!!!!!!!!!!! Without this app I would have never known if there’s any disputes that are charged on your card you have up until 9 AM the day you depart to dispute the charges. I really thought on carnivals part that this was really uncalled they had charged an extra 500+ dollars onto my credit card without me authorizing it once I went to customer service they did take the charges off! Note to self you’re going to cruise with carnival check your credit card summary on your hub occasionally.
  • A little buggy but vital when traveling with friends and family

    By oneofakindgurl
The only issues I really had were the errors every time I logged on saying it failed to update profile photo, gave the option to add a photo to profile but errors and won’t save, the chat kept disconnecting and reconnecting. However the chat did help a lot and proved vital when traveling with friends and family. It’s easy to lose track of each other. It also was a great way to keep track of activities available, nightly dinner menu, ship maps (even though they were also available at every elevator in less detail), it gave hours of when some things were open or closed, and it even gave weather for every port stop along the way. The only things I think would be nice to add is if you can add new friends that weren’t part of your initial “party” and it would be cool to see where we are on our route like we saw on a screen on one of the main decks. Other than that it was an awesome free tool and even better with the chat for the small $5 fee.
  • MUST HAVE - but needs work!

    By It's lil newman :)
Download before your cruise. Definitely a must have, I remember when I first cruised 4 years ago I had to carry my event pamphlet around all day to keep up. Was nice to have it all in the app. Glad I was able to favorite events I want to go to and it would pop up on my feed 15min before it started! Loved being able to see menus for dinning room and brunch, very nice. Now this so called “chat” this app offers, needs SO MUCH WORK. I never got notified of any messages unless I had the app open. When I leave apps open it runs battery down. I never got sound notifications OR badge notifications on my phone. We all had issues, constantly had to close the app and re start. We weren’t the only ones having issues either. I don’t want to pay for internet so this was the only way for siblings and parents to communicate being in separate rooms and doing their own thing. But HOPEFULLY fingers crossed, Carnival will get this fixed. PLEASE CARNIVAL!!! 5 Stars wouldn’t been given if we didn’t have so many issues with the chat. But overall wonderful app.
  • Friendly User Interface

    By Nimpy092
Was really easy to navigate around the app. Knowing the updated wether forecasts, dining menus and maps were also very helpful. Wish there was a gps location that showed you where you were on the ship in comparison to where you want to go since it does get a little confusing. I wish the chat features was free especially if you bought the WiFi on the boat. Shouldn’t have to pay for both. I loved how the professional photography photos appeared on the app within minutes. Way better than printing the photos out and wasting paper etc. Another suggestion would be to add not just the cruise ship time, but the local time difference on the app as well. The cruise director said the Jamaican time was off by an hour, but did not say an hour ahead or behind. Besides that the hub app was extremely helpful and beneficial to the cruise experience and would highly recommend it for those traveling with Carnival! I would not have survived without it!

I just came off my cruise today, and I kind of wish the app was still active. I still want to be on the boat! lol Anyhow, download this app and save yourself from being insane on the ship. DO NOT purchase the Internet. Please don’t download this app thinking you are using the Internet. This app keeps you on top of everything involving the ship you are crushing with, and your account. You won’t ever have to visit customer service unless you see something wrong. The minute you purchase your excursion, it will show upon the app. Purchase a drink, look at your account. Photos taken on the ship, check the app. Want the daily itinerary, time and location on the ship—download and look at the app! The app is fantastic!! *For those curious about the Internet. It is a waste of money. are out in the middle of the ocean. The Internet barely works! Again, YOU ARE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN. If you cruise and can’t stay unplugged, then maybe you shouldn’t cruise.
  • Terrific way to communicate while on board with all In your group

    By marginmd
This app is terrific. definitely love having it available. I used it most for the account summary, for the what’s happening, for my favorites of what’s happening, to see what I wanted to do I was sent notifications. I could tell when somebody had chatted and I need to get in there look at the message. some suggestions: would love to have the chat state when it was sent as well as when it was read. When message sent more important. It is hard to know when something was sent out i.e. “I’m going to eat in lido now” but you didn’t know what that time was. Two of my party could not get on the chat at all. Not certain if their phones did not support it or what. Customer service unable to help. I would recommend installing the app before your trip. That may have been the problem with one person in my group. (FYI. WiFi is spotty. I ended up cancelling my WiFi option and got refund in day two of cruise) this app was excellent.
  • A must have

    By CrabbyCancer13
If you’re going on a Carnival Cruise, you NEED to get this app. It allowed as you to access the menu for the dining room for your entire ship, lets you know what is open or when a place opens, and it has an amazing chat feature that is well worth the $5 fee. The chat feature allows you to talk to other members of your group as longs as you have the app open. This app also allows you to see a list of activities that are occurring and when they start. All you have to do if you want to do an activity is tap the heart next to the activity. You then get a reminder that the activity starts soon 15 minutes before the activity begins. It also allows you to keep track of the charges made on your Sail and Sign Card (the room key that you receive prior to embarking) by showing you how much you spent and when/where you spent it. All in all, this is a great app and a must have when going on a Carnival Cruise.
  • Great App. chat not so much

    By Coach_A
The app was very useful and kept us informed of current and future events. We could plan our onboard experience from anywhere. As for chat, Like others, we had a large group and this part of it was not that great. We couldn’t group chat at all so we were having to text each person. There were at least 10 of us. So that part sucked. Some of the texts never made it thru so that wasn’t helpful. At least a failure to send notification would have been nice. The chat part should have been worth 2 stars since it was the most used part of the app but it was our first cruise together and we had a blast regardless. Work on connectivity and the app should get 5 stars easy. Oh and tracking expenses was priceless (pun attempted). I could track my onboard expenses immediately. Would hate to think that taking and tracking money was the priority in this app over guests convenience but business is business I guess. Did I mention “Great cruise” 😛
