App Reviews

  • Great App. Truly love it.

I think what I love about this app is the response of the dev team. I made some suggestions to them and they did it in an update. That shows you that they are listening to us and understanding our application. Then making the adjustments to make our user experience better. The price for premium at 7.00 is far less than user licenses for some of the other remote options out there. I haven't ventured into their IR hub yet as most of my stuff is already wifi enabled. But I can tell you that I have turned an old iPad mini into my home remote and it is so slick. It's impressive too. My friends and family are always trying to play around with it. The integration with Alexa is really nice. Novel but nice, and easy to set up to boot. The ability to make your own buttons with macros is life changing. The fact that you literally design your own remote with the feel you want and the functionality you need is not only fun, but easy. Why four stars and not five? It's not perfect. There are kinks. But they hear you when you talk to them. As long as they keep updating with new features as well as making improvements on what's already there, this will be a five star app no problem. I wanted this to be an honest review and hope it helps. Edit: My review went from a 4 star to a 1 star and I didn’t do it so I’m putting it back to 4. I have no clue as to how that happened. Still love this app.
  • Great..for one night.

Downloaded the app to use the app remote paired with Echo via wifi. Everything set up the first time very easy. It automatically found my Sony Bravia smart TV. It paired with my Echo just fine. I had it working great. However, the next day it was all screwed up. I deleted the app, disabled the skill, and started over completely. Setup went EXACTLY like the day before but it DOES NOT work. Alexa is getting the commands and says they're going through, but nothing happens. Not even the AnyMote remote in the app works. Presently it's totally useless. It was awesome for the hour it worked last night. Now I'm just totally frustrated and disappointed, is which seems to be the current trend.
  • Can’t Connect To Samsung Smart TV

I have a brand new Samsung Smart TV and I got this app to control it with my echo. The app was unable to find my Samsung TV and I spent roughly 45 minutes reconnecting to WiFi and restarting my router and other things to try and get this to work. Then, I read that I could just use the manual button in the top right corner to manually input the IP Address.....well when I click that button nothing happened! So, I said, “Maybe the app is just buggy. I’ll restart my phone and try again.” Nope, still all the same issues after that. Uninstalling this app now. Let me know if you fix these connectivity issues.
  • Strange glitch

I have an iPhone 7 and use this app for my Roku and basic flat screen tv (not a smart tv). The app works great for when I can’t find my Roku remote, but it has a flaw. When I open and close the app my phones volume with fluctuate from mute to full volume (mutes when exiting and full volume when entering). Not a huge deal, but I need the volume up for alarms etc and thankfully I catch it when exiting and turn my volume back up. My husband has an iPhone 7 Plus and this app and he doesn’t encounter this issue.

So far it’s good! Have direct tv genie model c41w-100 and app works great over WiFi with the beta! First time I searched for devices nothing came up exit out and re tried brought up all direct tv boxes in the house! Works better than any other remote app I’ve tried so far! Keep up the great work!
  • Apple TV 4th Gen Support??

Solid functionality plus integration with IFTTT & Alexa is a huge bonus. However, it doesn’t seem to have a command for the “tv” button functionality on the Apple TV 4th Gen+ (top right button on original remote...) super annoying if this is the case. That model has been out for years. Having this option in a macro would be stellar for turning off the tv, automatically returning to the where you left off on what you were watching, etc. AnyMote, if you’re listening, please either tell me how I’m screwing this up... or add it!! UPDATE: 1-Star. Sorry guys, but no play/pause button either?? You gotta update this to support the basic functionality of the current Apple TV. As I said, respond and tell me where those rascal buttons are hiding and I’ll give you 5 stars, plus I’ll knock a few off my review for Logitech Harmony ;) ;). HELP!
  • Apple X disappointed- impossible to get help

iPhone 10. App is slow and crashes 90% of the time. I did not realize you had to buy an additional $90 device for this to even work. Trying to contact customer service is impossible because the app is so slow and the links either go nowhere or react so delayed. Sounded like a great app but not user friendly and they’ve already got your money before you can realize it!
  • WARNING VO Users!

    By blind_access
This app does not play nice with voice over. I downloaded this app to test Alexa capabilities with my cable box. Would have made changing channels easier as a blind individual. bIG mistake!! What I got instead was a frozen phone that got very HOT... it also interfered with voice over and speaker. It lowered to almost inaudible level. No amount of resetting corrected the issue. I had to do a complete restore from a previous backup.... If you are a voice over user, BE WARNED!!
  • Doesnt work with Sharp smart tv!

I have a sharp smart tv but it cannot connect to this app. The app says the remote is sharp (beta) which is still being working on, so maybe thats why it doesnt work. Ive checked the connection, made sure my app and tv were in the same network already. Hope the issue will be fix!
  • Good app but missing on key feature

I downloaded this app mainly to use with my Apple TV 4. It does the basics, but it’s missing one of the most important buttons. The Home Button. You can manage without it, but until the Home Button is included it’s not what I’m looking for.
