Using ReadyNC on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install ReadyNC on your computer in 4 simple steps below:

1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR
B. Bluestacks App .
Personally, I recommend the "B" option as Bluestacks is very popular so if you run into any trobles using it, you can find good solutions on Google or Bing (lol).

2: Now Install the Software Emulator on your Windows PC

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.

3: How to Use ReadyNC for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type ReadyNC in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on ReadyNC application icon. A window of ReadyNC will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.

About ReadyNC

Developer Description

ReadyNC provides the most critical information needed to prepare for and recover from typical disasters that impact North Carolina. For people living in or visiting North Carolina, this is an all-in-one tool for emergency preparedness. Features include: · Current weather conditions · Real-time traffic conditions where you are, by route or region · Power outages near you and where you can report outages · Open shelters near you (including which accept pets) · Counties being evacuated · How to prepare for and be safe during typical hazards that impact NC · How to create an emergency plan and kit · Real-time information from stream and river flood gages near you. · Who to contact for assistance when disasters strike. The application does not replace calling 9-1-1 for emergencies. This app should not be used as a substitute for weather radio or other emergency alerts during severe weather. ReadyNC draws data from many different sources. The ReadyNC application requires network connections and location services to access this information. The state provides no guarantees of cellular network reliability, data availability or validity of information outside our control. App Reviews

  • Falls very short

    By Beans64678
This app had a lot of potential but doesn't do anything well. Most of the links direct you to the NCDOT mobile site, which fails to properly display on every mobile device. There are also a number of pages within the site that redirect to another page and another page and another page before failing to load the information you're searching for. I hope that the state government puts money towards redesigning this app so that it can provide useful information efficiently.
  • Everything in one place

    By happyappy95
Some things link to websites others provide information within the app. With a Cat 4 Hurricane knocking at the door in the Atlantic, this app has useful tips on what you need to prepare. It has links for shelters & Disaster relief - what you need to file (a lot of people do not have the necessary documentation after a disaster).
  • Live traffic maps are useless. Waste of time to download

    By NREMTP3070
When you click on the icons on the live traffic update maps you sometimes get a pop up box that says undefined, undefined. When you try to click on other icons on the roads nothing happens. No information at all. For an app that the state of NC says is a must download it’s absolutely terrible. It could be great if they had someone develop them an app that knew what they were doing. If you want to know how to get from a to b during a storm download the Waze app instead.
  • Must-Have App

    By Bunky1999
We’ve used ReadyNC frequently over the past few weeks as Eastern NC has emerged from the shadow of Hurricane Florence. Great information & super-simple to use. The live road condition/closure updates have been a true blessing. Thank you, State of North Carolina. Resources like this show our tax dollars are being put to good use!
  • Just okay

    By macdreams
It’s useful for the info gathered in one place but the location doesn’t work for the local weather.
  • Not helpful

    By ksingernc
About the only thing useful is a list of open shelters. Otherwise it refers you to the same webpage doesn’t have active information. Don’t know why North Carolina government keeps referring people to this app for help with her working for us.
  • I'd rather use google

    By irritableB0W31
I don't see the point of having an app that opens up web pages. I'd rather just search google and do it myself than have to switch back and forth between the app and safari.
  • Disappointed

Most of the menu items take you to their website. I could do that without an app. Deleted the app.
  • This useless app

    By Oilman#1
This is another waste of taxpayers money i could not find any information at all . The stars at the not be there either because 1 to 10 i would it a minus 50
  • Making Checkable Boxes on Lists Would be Good

    By NorieNC
Great to have this app but I do recommend making check boxes for the preparedness lists.
