Okay....I usually don't write a review...but I do read them often within games I like to play consistently....and this by far has me addicted to playing...constantly! I agree with the reviews that explain about the gem/coin ratios, and the slot machine rationing of gems when you do hit. Especially after all the hard earned time and energy put into playing to collect 3stars for the restaurant and leveling up and all you get is 7 gems on each level. It’s a total rip-off!....I suggest that the developers of this game give a decent and fair amount of gems and/or plus cash in order to compensate the people who are genuinely dedicated and willing to play in order to earn the limited 7 we’ve all been receiving.....(It’s been almost 2months and I’m on level 42 and was disappointed when I kept seeing 7 gems was all that I would receive for leveling up😔😔😔) but all in all, I love this game and will continue to keep on playing because I like to finish what I start...no matter how long it takes. Also this game is very addictive to those types who like to perfect levels on certain games they are in to. Good luck to all my fellow Cooking Fever fanatics and hopefully the “Higher Ups” & Developers are reading all of these reviews and taking our thoughts collectively into consideration and compensating everyone in the long run. Thanks to all those involved with creating this game!!! Have a nice day and continue to enjoy!

This is by far one of the best progression games I’ve played. I see reviews with complaints of not getting enough gems...on the contrary I find the balance to be almost perfect. First, you will have to play the levels MANY times and once I start a restaurant, I like to work on it until I have 5 stars on all levels. In the slots, it’s only worth it to spin on 500 coins each time...the single diamond will hit maybe once a day, giving you 15 diamonds a day. And if you commit to a restaurant, you can quickly accumulate coins and XP, which is another way to get diamonds. I have yet to spend ANY money on this game and while I find myself in a stalemate every now and then with the coin or diamond situation, I keep coming back to play more! In my opinion, all the best restaurants are on the first page (except for the corn dog level on the island haha). All in all, if you like games like this, I would highly recommend. You can play fairly consistently without paying for it. For the developer: I have experienced few glitches. The one thing I would like to see is a reward after completing a restaurant with all three stars that can give you easier access to a new restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews, the purchases of new levels is a little outrageous. And has anybody EVER hit two or three diamond jackpots? Come on.

I like this game a lot for a cooking progression game. I like that you eventually open up new restaurants for the variety. I sought this out because it was a free game; but how many gems you end up needing for food, equipment, and interior upgrades, is unreasonable if you aren't willing to put money into this. Some people disagree and I have no idea how they are doing it. I have gone back through to get 3 stars for each level and played levels over. I enjoy the game so I don't mind this but how often you have to replay versus getting gems to even open a new restaurant gets tiring. Some levels you won't get 3 stars without certain upgrades to your equipment or interior store to boost quickness or tips. Some restaurants that you open - the interior upgrades and food/equipment upgrades will ALL take gems. I play the casino casually because you rack up tons of coins playing over and over. I have one time received a gem win and never received anything else, even coins - and that is playing on the 500 bet only. I am not someone who will spend money on a phone game, so I'm not sure how much longer I will keep this installed. However, another issue I find is that the price to buy gems with real money versus how often you need the gems in-game is very high. I feel bad for people who can't control themselves and do end up buying gems because it must end up being an expensive, addictive cycle.
  • Great game, but gems are hard to come by

I enjoy this game but once you get to a far enough experience level, gems (necessary for making upgrades to complete levels) are harder to get, as more and more experience becomes necessary. Also, when the game has a promotion, the likelihood of winning gems in the “casino” lessens. These are all tactics the game developers use to try and get you to make in app purchases. $10 for 125 gems will only get you so far, when many of the necessary upgrades can cost 10-20 gems (Pizzeria) and new restaurants cost 25-50 gems. It can get very costly when this needs to be done over and over again to make progress. The only other option is to replay levels over and over again to gain experience. Additionally, some levels (Chinese restaurant), customers stop coming even if none have been lost because certain upgrades have not been purchased. Still a four star because it’s fun and the best time management game out there, but definitely designed to get you to pay, a lot. Get your wallets ready. Edit: I haven’t won a single gem since giving this a four start review - 5 days. So I’m going to edit to 5 stars and see what happens.
  • First cooking game I downloaded, loved it, but moved on

This was the first cooking game I downloaded. I loved it when I was playing the food court stage with the burgers and fries. I have since bought the pizza and Chinese restaurants. While I loved this game I’m the beginning, I agree with many others that it simply is too costly to get upgrades on equipment because the amount of gems needed is just too much, and the payoff is not enough. To upgrade your equipment (just to get 2 stars in a higher level) costs coins and 10-15 gems! I liked this game because, unlike some other cooking games (or mobile games in general), it doesn’t supply only a limited amount of lives to play and that you’d have to wait for the lives to replenish. I think that’s why upgrading the equipments, food, and restaurant are so costly, because the developers probably want people to play the levels over and over. I won’t say this game is bad but I will say that this game is not suited for my work lifestyle anymore. I want a game where I do spend effort on each level and revisit each level to earn more currency, but not to the point where I have to play the levels an x amount of times just to earn some measly coins and gems. The payoff is just not worth the time spent. I loved this game but I have moved on to another cooking game.
  • Great! But you need to work on it

I really like it, I do! But there are some things you need to work on, say, have you ever thought of making the gems easier to get? Or making upgrades less expensive? I bet you thought of a few things, but I would think there’s much you haven’t thought of! Like making it easier to finish a lvl with all three stars, a way to do this is making the ppl have more patience, or you could make the lvls more interesting, a way to do this is making the patience faster or slower going down depending on the gender or order, say a hotdog and a coke, that would make it faster, a coke would be a little slower, a burger and a coke would be a little faster than a hotdog and a coke, a hotdog alone would be slow, and a burger would be a little faster, girls would have less patience than boys to add on more! To be honest, I really hope you try to add one of these, and I hope it comes trough to work! It has always been my dream for the developers to reply and or see my comment, and a add on to that dream would be for them to add it! I think my ideas would make more ppl try it, share it, or like it more! Please and thank you! 😄😁

This game is very addicting, which is definitely a good thing! I've been playing it for almost 3 years now, basically since it came out and I have not stopped or gotten bored which is definitely saying something! I love the new updates, restaurants, and foods available. I don't have a problem playing levels over to gain coins, I enjoy it! It does get a bit frustrating sometimes how getting gems isn't a little easier. I will say in the 3 years I've played I've spent an excess of 25,000,000 coins on the "slot machine" trying to get gems (yes, I did the math and I low balled the approximations lol). But, I have NEVER gotten the 2 gem or 3 gem result. I spin on 500 every time and I have only ever won the single gem result to get 15 gems. Also, I have never won the 3 coin result either. Only the single and double coins to get 600 and 1000 respectively. I have never spent any money on this game and I keep playing so it's not something that holds me back or makes me want to stop but it's hard to believe that spinning is fair at all. I hope something can get changed so getting more than the one gem result is actually possible. Thanks for the fun!

So...this game is incredibly addicting and it is mostly a lot of fun. However, the paywall is real. You simply cannot progress in the game without gems, and you have to either wait days, sometimes weeks, for more, or you have to pay actual money. There is at least one restaurant (can’t remember which one at the moment) wherein it costs 5000 coins and 40 (!!!!) gems to increase the in-game cost of an item from 10 to 12. That is absolutely absurd. You end up spending hours playing the same levels over and over to accumulate XP, and when you finally level up you only get 7 gems. Yes, once a day (sometimes) you an win 15 gems in the casino. Combine that with literal hours playing levels repeatedly and MAYBE you can come up with 30 gems per day. Then you can either unlock a new restaurant, which you will only be able to play for a few levels before you need more gems, or you can upgrade maybe 2-3 items in another restaurant. It’s infuriating. Anyone who says that this game is reasonably playable without spending real $ is either being paid by the developer to leave reviews, or is satisfied by extreme repetition. And yet, I play this stupid game every day.
  • Gems, Gems, Gems.

Love this game, it’s very fun and progresses fairly quick. My only complaint is the amount of gems required to upgrade EVERYTHING. The first restaurant wasn’t too bad, I completed all the levels with minimal gems spent. However, after purchasing another restaurant, I was only able to make it through 7 or 8 levels before it becoming virtually impossible to complete the level without upgrading equipment...upgrades which almost all of which required gems that I didn’t have😡 I didn’t mind playing the levels over and over to rank up and acquire more gems, however, after a certain point it takes FOREVER to rank up and I have to play the same level over and over and over, which becomes annoying. Also, the casino isn’t much help. I tried to acquire gems through the casino, and after spent 50,000 coins, I had landed on the gems 💎 ONE time. Like I said, the game is very fun, but after ranking up a few times expect to play the same level 40-50 times just to get a few extra gems...unless of course you feel like forking over some of your hard earned cash $$$...no pun intended.

Love playing this game, really do. Recent changes make it difficult to play. I enjoy playing this game on my iPad which does not have cellular data, therefore, at some times, I can not play this game because it needs to be connected to the internet. Despite other annoyances with the game my biggest annoyance: wifi needed. I've recently being very diligent about playing daily to receive +2 gems, but I recently Where played the game without wifi due to internet outages but in my apartment complex. When I played, I still received my daily streak, but never connected to wifi. Unfortunately the next day when i played with wifi I lost my 20+ day streak even though I had played, just without full connection. (Someone explain this to me please). As someone that travels and plays on an iPad without constant wifi connection this game become meaningless when you can't play it outside of your home. As a second note; I really wish gems were easier to come by. I try to connect to this game daily so that I can receive my daily gem bonus. I also play the casino daily to receive gems. I still never have enough gems to succeed in the levels.
