App Reviews

  • Works but needs work

So I got the app only a few weeks ago and got lucky a few times for the limited amount of woman compared to men, which is pures first problem they need to advertise more of their product on the internet or tv, popular networks not the playboy channel or spike tv, their second problem is the chat room sure we all like our privacy especially when it comes to sex related things but an hour of conversation; perhaps extend it to a day, with a block setting of course, that or something that extends the time of the conversation, and third and finale which is the worst part of this app is people asking for money, now don’t get me wrong I don’t mind making and effort to go to the store and buy condoms or other “items”, but when your driving an hour to a destination and find out she or he wants $50 gift cards and then they change their mind or you don’t have the money because of gas that’s where I draw the line, (to pure-this happens mostly on the kik app) we’re already paying money on the app, the app should be only about two people just wanting to experiment with sex, not this individual illegal prostitution ring, please set up a report feature for these illegal activities; as for everything else pretty ok
  • Scammers and poor service

My first match was with 40 miles away at a hotel here for a “business trip” turns out they wanted me to stop at a gas station and load up two 50 dollar iTunes cards. So I can give her one before and another one after sex. I kindly declined and proceeded to report her on the app. Imagine my surprise when I keep seeing her over and over and over again. I message the support team who took several days to respond initially and eventually told me to record my screen showing my actions of reporting her and her showing up again. I then find out I can’t send them the videos through the in app chat and that I have to email them. Why didn’t they tell me this ahead of time??? Also when I emailed the clips, they ended up giving me the same copy/paste response I received when I first messaged them on the app. Somewhere along they said they would give me a month subscription free but that hasn’t happened either. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone. It’s a waste of money and if you make the mistake of purchasing a subscription out of curiosity, prepare to be extremely disappointed.
  • Seemingly riddled with bots, among other problems

The idea and execution are both pretty novel and appealing, so A+ for effort. But there’s no real way of knowing whether someone’s “profile” is for real or not; unlike Tinder, there are no bios. You’re granted a single photo and have to make your choice on that alone. The overwhelming majority of photos I’ve seen all look very generic, as if they’ve been culled from Google Images. To add to the frustration, the few people I have matched with did not seem any more interested in hooking up than people on Tinder—that’s just my experience, though. And this is all not to mention the steep price tag: a whopping $15/week or $30/month. To be fair, that probably limits the amount of people who would just be using this app to “see what’s out there”, with no intention of meeting up, as is often the case on Tinder. In any case, this app might only be worth using if you live in a massive city like NYC or LA or even a smaller, nominally progressive/“alt” city like Philly or somewhere. Anyone else is probably out of luck
  • My experiance

So let me start off bu saying that I almost got scammed on this app. ALMOST, but I did not. I enjoy the way this app seems to function differently than most other “dating apps” in that you make a post with your picture and approximate location for an hour, and you can see people within a large radius of you whom are also looking for a hookup. We all know why we are here which cuts small talk down by a lot. One of the first people i found and began talking to was a scammer, however i was able to handle that situation on my own. I messaged the staff about it and they were quick, responsive, helpful, and nice to me the entire process. I asked how to report fake users and they told me kindly. I understand that we cannot weed out fake users 100% but by allowing my report to mean something makes me feel like I matter to them. The supoort staff is easily the best on any app I have dealt with and they all deserve the world. The ONLY reason I only gave 4 as opposed to 5 is because the app population does not appear to be dense yet, however that is only a matter of time. Tl;dr App is a fun and unique experience to others on the market with a superb support staff and wonderful aesthetic dispite it’s not yet large audience. Just keep a weathered eye out for those who want to scam you! Keep it up devs and crew! I cant wait to add that 5th star!
  • It is what it’s supposed to be.

As should always be the case but seldom is, Pure is exactly what it’s supposed to be—an easy to use and effortless way to connect with like-minded (awesome, the app reminds us) people for discreet adult conversation limited only by mutuality and your wildest imagination. Your matches on Pure are right there with you, fully willing to explore common interests, meet, and touch the real with you. Giving this app a try takes very little effort, as it only requires one photo before you’re suddenly rotated in the growing pool of users, moments from your next best chance at authentic experience. Developers have succeeded in keeping it anonymous while offering fantastic customer service that’s as happy to help with technical needs as you hope your best match is at meeting your personal needs. :)
  • Is anybody here?

    * update: nothing new with the app. Still no ladies in Houston. I was just reading other reviews and chuckling at all the 5 stars. The pres would have a coronary screaming “FAKE REVIEWS” at the top of his lungs. Also, I noticed that the developers seem to respond immediately to any bad reviews from NYC. Houston isn’t worth a few seconds to type “we’re sorry” or even “Screw off, we don’t care” I am in Houston, the 4th largest city in the U.S. I downloaded this app yesterday afternoon. In 24 hours I have seen a grand total of three (3) ladies pop up. Not 3 right now. Not 3 today. 3 since yesterday. Even if the app isn’t very popular here, you’d think out of 6 million + potential users (3.5 million ladies) there would be more than 3 total users to choose from. Hold on. I’m mistaken. One of the ladies lives 350 miles away. So 2 female users of this app in Houston. And i am fairly certain that both of them are either fake profiles or prostitutes. In their photos they are trashy hot. They start chats asking Wya? and what you doing? When you respond, you get a message stating that they already left the conversation. You want people to pay a minimum of $15 for an app that is completely useless? The terms of service make it clear that there are no refunds. Lesson learned here I guess. I cannot speak for other locales, but if you are in the greater Houston area, i would advise you not to waste your money here
  • Great idea in theory but doesn’t work in practice really at all

    By Mikestanfield
This app is such a waste of money. I’ve tried it several times over a couple of years. First I tried it when it was new and there was nobody using it anywhere nearby me. Then I tried using it on business trips a year later and there was only 5-6 people showing up on the app across the whole country at any given time. I recently tried it again while on a business trip in a big east coast city and found that basically the only place in the map with any number of regular users was in. NYC. Even there, it’s only 2-3 people at a time. The other problem is that if the 5-6 people posting in the app at any given time that I checked in, I’d usually get 2-3 connection requests from people list wanting me to view their webcams. Don’t pay for this app. You’re not going to find a hookup from it. Great idea in theory but More people need to be aware of it in order for it to be effective.
  • Useless

    By stmad12
I love this concept. Tinder and Bumble are so-so, a lot of wasted space. That being said, there’s no way I could possibly actually meet anyone from this app. I’m from the Kansas City area, not large by New York or Chicago standards but still pretty decent. The other apps never have a shortage of users. The closest female profile I’ve encountered in a week of literally being “searching” for 10 hours of a 12 hour day and liking everyone has been 400mi. That’s through “prime times” as well as others. If there was a way to narrow the location a little, maybe I’d actually spend money on it. But 100 miles is just too far for a meeting. 400? Are you actually kidding? The pay-to-play thing eliminates a lot of dead and fake profiles, but I venture that you’re going to have a HARD time convincing a critical mass of the male users that $15/mo to match with girls 4-5hours away is even worth a thought. I’m letting my first month run out and giving up. It’s a waste of money.
  • Nothing but scam girls and sex workers

    By Jay Rutherford
The app cuts down the small talk because everyone know what they are on there for. The issue is that even though I’m in a big city like Chicago the app mostly only shows me people from over 500 miles away and based on their profile photo which is only 1 pic you can instantly tell they are sex workers looking for money. Why even bother showing me people in Kentucky, Baltimore, and Toronto? The nearest it showed me was someone in Chicago 5 miles away and they tried to scam me for a prepaid card to hook up by having me talk to them on another chat app. The second nearest person was in Michigan and yep you guessed it, they wanted money to meet by the time I send them the 4th message. This is a very greedy app! All other apps are free with premium features that enhance the he experience. This app however is just like the scam girls on it where you pay your money upfront and hope something will show up.... This is why the app fails so hard!
  • Great concept, unfortunately not quite there...

    By AV12
I’d like to start off by saying I think this app has the most promise for fun since Craigslist Casual Encounters (RIP). The anonymous nature of the app, and simple interface and design are laudable. Unfortunately, though I live in LA, there just aren’t enough users. I have matched with about 7 people over 2 days, but sadly all(!) of them have been scammers asking for money or my Kik, etc. As someone familiar with the hookup app world, I would suggest human curation of members until you have a group of core users who are real, active and dedicated. Now I’m at the end of my (very short) free trial, and while I would like to stay on the app to help grow the community, it’s just not a good value proposition. I wish there was at least a limited free version. There is a niche for a no-nonsense hookup app (Tinder has been taken over by relationships)and I’d love to see Pure make it happen.
