Using Moodle on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install Moodle on your computer in 4 simple steps below:

1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR
B. Bluestacks App .
Personally, I recommend the "B" option as Bluestacks is very popular so if you run into any trobles using it, you can find good solutions on Google or Bing (lol).

2: Now Install the Software Emulator on your Windows PC

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.

3: How to Use Moodle for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type Moodle in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on Moodle application icon. A window of Moodle will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Moodle icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Hope it was not too difficult? If you have any further inquiries, contact me through the "Contact" link at the bottom of this page so I could help You. Have a nice day!

App Reviews

  • Easy!

    By MrsCulver007
This App makes it SO much easier to get to my coursework, message my teacher, and see my calendar of due dates than going through a web browser! I wish I would have downloaded this Day one of the semester. It would have saved me a lot of frustration.
  • Okay

I used to LOVE this app last semester. Since it updated, I HATE it!!! I don’t like how i can’t go straight to my grades. Also, i don’t like how i have to select topics. It used to just be where I could scroll through my topics. I never know which tab things are under so it’s annoying to have to try and guess which tab to select. Please change it back! I even don’t like the site page it brings me to every time i open the app. It’s just not as functional as it used to be. Don’t think i want to use this app any longer.
  • Not too bad

The layout is getting better. Unfortunately there are a lot of unnecessary items taking up precious space that could be hidden behind a menu. Contact me I’ll let you know. In the meantime, there are two major issues that need to be addressed 1. Being able to save and print descriptions of assignments. Save to files (iOS)/ AirPrint 2. Being able to send Moodle feedback.
  • Huge improvement with Nagivation

The navigation overhaul with this past update was a HUGE improvement. It is finally intuitive - I can get around without thinking and just get to where I need to go. Great work!!
  • Grade Change

I appreciate how the app will give me an alert a hour before something is due. However I wish there was an update that allows us to receive an alert when our grade changes.
  • Low quality is affecting our student experience

    By flanagancd
Our students are complaining the the app is difficult to use and in some cases they get booted out without warning. I know Moodle is a volunteer community but it looks like this version needed more QA. It’s frustrating when they come to us and we have to tell them there’s nothing we can do. Please address or roll back to the previous version.
  • Was great until this last update made it totally useless

    By Embulina
I loved this app before this last update... having it made checking my homework easy. Since this last update, I can no longer even get to my courses... I click “access classes here” on the dashboard and it just reloads the dashboard over and over. Can you please undo whatever “improvements” you made in this update?
  • Absolutely AWFUL

    By Natcat199211
As most other reviews have pointed out, this app is a massive fail. Unbelievably cumbersome and buggy, to the point that it is just plain useless compared to the actual site. Considering that a lot of us online students would SERIOUSLY benefit from having a FUNCTIONAL moodle app, this is extremely disappointing and moodle needs to make a priority of doing much, much better.
  • Potential for a great app

I’m using the app to stay up on my assignments while traveling, but it is really cumbersome. If I open an attachment, I have to completely leave the app and go back in to get out of the attachment when it is displayed in the app. Also, why does the app keep asking me to download the app?
  • Worse Design than Before

    By Amishomelet
After the most recent update, the interface is less attractive and more time consuming than the previous version. I’m also not able to add shared files from my iPhone anymore to my Moodle files. The file list appears, but it won’t let me click any of the files.
