    I ordered ahead using this app thinking that it would be quicker than going there in person. I patiently waited and waited. 2 people who came after me had ordered there and paid and ate and left...Finally the guy from the restaurant asked me if I was being served. (After 30min or so) I said I was waiting for my order through Eat24. They checked and told me that they never received the order. I contacted Eat24 through the chat and it stated there are 33 guests ahead of me. I finally got through and told them that I had already paid again to get my order in person. ( which btw it was $3 cheaper at the restaurant than the app) I told them to refund my money. They doubted me that I didn’t get my order. I told them that I have receipt and told them to call the restaurant to verify. I heard the guy talking to them and they refunded my money immediately after. Being so frustrated, I called Eat24 to complain. The experience went bad to worse after speaking to the phone rep. He says restaurant accepted the order and there’s no record of Eat24 rep calling the restaurant. He made it sound like he was doing me a favor by giving me a discount for the next purchase. I told him that he just made me even more frustrated than I had to be. This app used to be decent but after it was taken over by Grubhub they are HORRIBLE... If I could give no star, I would!!!

    I understand grubhub merged with eat24 but when it came time to make it one product who would have selected the Grubhub app yelps was sooo much better? These are the important things that are missing that yelps app had, hope this feedback gets to someone in their product management team so we can bring back these features! 1. Rating individual dishes at a restaurant, it’s hard to remember what you liked at each restaurant (sometimes dishes tastes funky to you and you don’t remember, doesn’t mean the whole restaurants bad) helps you try new things too! 2. Adding condiments at the end to your order. I barely get any type of silverware plates and forks so I put in very long messages for delivery, but was great to see what restaurants were offering ie: Indian restaurant was giving the red and green sauce away didn’t have to order it. Or sometimes you need ketchup. 3. Allowing to select (instead of having to use sort, because the sort function is only available for one option) by things like delivery fee and price etc 4. Allowing to use coupons you guys send out in your emails when you pay in cash? (Side note the emails they sent were the only ones I ever read when it came to ad emails, the writers were hilarious)

    Terrible terrible terrible! Don’t order through this company via Yelp! I placed my order but an item wasn’t available, I missed their call but returned it right away. I sat on hold for 5 minutes before they called me again. I ordered something else that was cheaper but they couldn't refund me the difference and said I could have a $3 credit for my next purchase with them. After the problem with my order, sitting on hold and them not being able to refund my money I knew I would not make use of the $3 credit so I canceled my order. This had already taken 40 minutes of my 45-60 minute quoted delivery time. I called the restaurant directly, told them I was reordering an order I just canceled with Eat 24, her other line rings and she puts me on hold. Comes back, I place my order and ask how long it will be and she says an hour.... I said, from now or my original order time? She says from now, Eat 24 called and canceled your order when I put you on hold so we stopped making your order... Needless to say I canceled that order and went out to eat. Waste of time, waste of effort, pointless service! Email from Eat 24 says my refund will take 3-5 business days to process... are you kidding me?? One star is because I couldn’t put zero!

    I placed an order for delivery using this app. When the order did not show up, I attempted to get a status update through the app but was quickly told they could not provide one. So, I started a chat with customer service. It took seven minutes before someone from customer service responded. By this time, my order was more than 20 minutes past the confirmed delivery time (which was already a 35 minute wait). I ended up calling the restaurant myself to try and find out what was going on. All in all, it took more than an hour for a food delivery from a restaurant only five blocks away. The best that customer service could do was ask me what I thought I needed to resolve the situation. I really just wanted them to help me in a timely fashion. They did apologize, but because they did not offer any solutions, I just requested a refund of the delivery fee. So, I got my measly two dollars back, but I am still left pretty disappointed in the service. Probably will not use it again. If they want to retain customers, they will improve their customer service and help when one of their restaurant partners is not living up to good quality service.

    Terrible terrible terrible. According to them, Delivery people are not them but restaurant workers. So, what’s the point to use EAT24? None. We ordered through EAT24, the system didn’t even let me chat anyone in order to ask for ETA due to error. After 2 hours of wait, we called restaurant directly, they said the food was picked up 40 mins ago. After another 20mins, someone at EAT24 called saying “this can’t be acceptable, we will give you a refund” and he refunded without asking me anything. Shortly after this call, food arrived. A few mins later, another guy called again telling me we have to pay now since we didn’t refuse the food. They are saying we need to pay full for over 3hours old food. For inconvenience, they offered me $5 credit. Well, like another reviewers say, I knew I would never use EAT24, so asked for supervisor. To be frank, the order was canceled, but the “supervisor” was so rude and unprofessional. His attitude gave me another level of anger, and he said(or screamed) “what’s your issue? You got what you wanted, free food worth $50.” He doesn’t get it. you are the issue. Anyways, don’t order! When EAT24 offer delivery, that means that restaurant DOES delivery. Just call directly.

    I never write bad reviews. Why waste my time on a bad experience? But I have to warn ppl to not order from this place... EVER. I placed my order at 9.17 pm for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. My daughter and I had a craving. 10:21 rolls by and I realize I have no ice cream. Ice cream doesn't require cooking right? I call EAT24 and they tell me they will check with the driver and text me back. 10:34 no news, I call Ben & Jerry’s and they say that no one ever placed the order from Eat24. 10:40 the girl from Ben & Jerry’s texts me to tell me that the order was placed and she has the ice cream ready... 10:50 no ice cream yet...I call Eat24 and they place me on hold, the woman gets back on the phone with me to tell me she can’t reach the driver... I tell her to cancel because I’m not waiting all night for ice cream. I text the girl from Ben & Jerry's to let her know that I cancelled the order, she responds that the driver picked up the ice cream 20 minutes ago... It’s 11:35 and the ice cream never got here... I hope the driver enjoyed my order. I’ve ordered several times from this company, and usually it was ok... well, lost a customer. The whole deal was very shady. Seems like maybe they’re going out of business.
  • Missing features from the old Eat24 app

    Rather unexpectedly the old Eat24 app was upgraded to this latest version powered by grubhub. This is a completely different app, different UI and experience. Some UX things are better, I have more choices for restaurants, but there are other restaurants I used to be able to order from but I no longer can. There doesn’t seem to be any more live chat feature and can’t specify which items like utensils or whatnot to bring/not bring and for how many people. I wasn’t even aware that Eat24 had become part of grubhub, but that type of situation is the only scenario I can imagine for such a drastic and material change to the way an app works and what it offers could occur. A company making changes like this under normal circumstances would face larger backlash from its users, but since it’s two companies merging into one it makes sense for there to be a more severe degree of change. Hopefully some of those nicer, now-missed features from the legacy platform will make their way back into this new version over time.

    The restaurants I’ve talk to say that it is faster to call them direct. I’ve tested calling direct and ordering through app. Going through app adds another 20 minutes approximately to local delivery. I don’t bother to add custom notes because they are not always relayed to restaurant which creates awkward relationship between this app, restaurant rating, and and The customer. There are so many other great places here that are not even listed. I recommend Something like eat24 premium type structure where you pay a flat delivery fee or perhaps monthly fee for those of us that order more often. Otherwise, restaurants have two pricing, one for eating there and take out versus higher price on some items for delivery with or without app. Everyone just needs to be honest and say, “same price but $10 delivery fee that includes tip” so everyone is happy. Most delivery people say that they are paid hourly regardless of tip. Either that or will just have to try Uber food delivery Service. I have more ideas but never hear back from eat24.
  • There’s a reason I used Eat24 over Grubhub

    Haven’t been a fan of the platform conversion over to the Grubhub version. Cause it’s crap. More variety of restaurants is good but the old platform would be better. There are errors in it that you can’t get around. Like a Thai place I always ordered from before, you click on Garlic Chicken, go to the next menu where “required” choices are. It makes you make a “required choice” it’s says choose one: Shrimp. I’m ordering garlic chicken but it’s making me choose shrimp for an extra $2.00?! What if I’m allergic to shrimp? What if I just want the garlic chicken that I clicked on? Nope, can’t have it because there is no way to get around the “required choice”. And it’s like this for quite a few entrees including beef ones. So now I’m limited to only being able to order 1 or 2 things instead of having a variety. Submitted a ticket to point out the error, they said they’d work on it, it’s been a few weeks, nothing’s changed. Hoping Postmates or Ubereats gets to my area soon cause I’m over this version of the Eat24 app.
  • App accessibility improvements for the blind

    I placed my first order with Eat24 today, and while the app was easy for me to use as a person who is totally blind, I noticed there are a few accessibility improvements that need to be made. I use VoiceOver, Apple’s screen reader that allows people like me to use their products independently. And when going through a restaurant menu, I noticed VoiceOver doesn’t read the choices on the menu. It just says, “is popular image.“ In this case, I wouldn’t know what item my finger is on one scrolling through, the only way I would be able to know is by double tapping on it and then it would pull up the information about it. Overall, this app is simple to use, but I would definitely encourage for the developers to please make it more accessible for people like me who are blind or visually impaired so that they can enjoy using it to.
