About My Altitude

Developer Description

My Altitude uses GPS signals to determine your current location, altitude (height from sea level) barometric pressure and water boiling point. This application does not need an internet connection and works best in outdoors. By default, it uses device sensor to determine the altitude, but you also have the option to use NOAA data files to get the altitude of your location. On newer devices, using device sensor is more accurate. It also allows you to get a picture of where you are and save it in photo album. Picture will be sealed with coordinates of current location along with altitude and local date/time. Barometric Pressure is calculated based on elevation. On newer devices such as iPhone 6/6+ value is being delivered directly from device built-in barometric sensor. Enjoy.

App Reviews

  • Quick, simple altitude info

    By NotSupposedTo
Doing lots of hikes and treks, especially in remote areas without detailed maps, it’s been very handy to pull this guy up and immediately know the altitude. Such a simple and clever design, it truly brings me joy every time I use it.
  • App on top always on watch - revised

    By Dlrbox77
I like the new capability on the watch, but the app is always on top. I don’t want it on top all the time. When I lift my wrist I want to see my watch face, not the altitude every time. Kudos. They fixed the foreground bug. Now it is a great useful app.
  • Thrilled

I can't say enough good about this app. It has helped me track locations of every point I'm checking every day. Cutting down my time in the field by several hours every day. Glad to have this on my phone.
  • Looking for a mountain house

    By Par and Bar
We are currently looking for a summer home in the NC mountains and would like to be at 3000 ft elevation or higher. This app gives us that info while we are looking at a particular home. Early stages but it’s working well thus far.
  • Very Handy

    By About To Retire
Love this app. Have tried others and they didn’t work as well as this does. Accuracy has been as accurate (within 10 -20 ft) as hand held devices such as Garmin or maps. Wish there was an elevation gain feature to app.
  • Great Help!

    By Robbin12
My husband gets altitude sickness so this app has helped us to keep an eye on the elevation! I love being able to leave it open on my iPhone and checking in. It keeps up with where we are.
  • Geologist Mike

This is a great app! I wish I would’ve have had it when I purchased the house I now own. I would have never purchased the house which I now know that is doomed to flood in the future!
  • Works well

    By Szymon_Sz
I use it quite often where there is no service. It works even in airplane mode and seems reasonably accurate.
  • Nice app

    By Bikewfish
While visiting the western US I used this app to track our elevation and location. It has a nice feature of taking a photograph with a small title block that provides Lat, Lon, and elevation. Great for sharing with friends or simply recording a location.
  • Accurate and detailed

    By ST-Houston
The apps is both accurate and provides good details on location.
