Would be worth paying for if you offered more than what’s available. I have used app since it came out and even though I no longer pay for service, I still report when I see police. I use WAZE mostly now it’s free and offers more options. But back to Escort, the map needs to be updated desperately. You should update or upgrade app to also include driving directions. That way you don’t have to flip between apps. The app should have a heads up/North option. For the price we pay for the radar the app should be free and it should be offered for free across all radars that Escort sells it was ahead of it’s time when it first came out, but has fallen behind due to lack of upgrades. Another problem with this app is, since I’ve updated to IPhone X the phone shows to be connected, but mute doesn’t work, when radar goes off the app don’t automatically transfer hit to database I have to manually say police spotted. I love my radars and I have been saved countless times form getting a ticket. HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing Escort Radars, they are the best on the market, but the app do need attention to make this a complete package.
  • Great app, big user base

    By Hear More
Still really like this app and tech after several years. Big community of users, which is awesome. Lots of people complain about this app because it doesn’t show map directions, traffic, and disrupts music. Really!? This is a radar app. It detects radar/laser/cops. It’s not going to make you baked ziti for dinner. Okay, let’s go to mobile preschool kids. #1 Get Google Maps app to tell you where to go, it will also tell you where the traffic is. #2 If you don’t want to be alerted through the app and have undisrupted music, go to settings then sounds and select... amazingly... “Off”. Dang, wasn’t that totally difficult. Your detector in your window will still alert you, but not your phone. Oh but wait, your FB messages, text messages, and Instagram messages are still going to alert through your music too! Guess you better go answer those 1st! Haha!

So I like having the app and I like having it warn me about possible radar threats ahead. The radar detector itself works very well. So a few things that I don't like about the app: I wish I could shut off some red lights not all but ones that I drive through every day. The app does not play nice with my iTunes on my iPhone if I hit pause and then hit play again it goes to the first song in my library instead of back to the song that's playing. The app also seems to stay running in the background for some reason when I get out of the car I'm in the house and all of a sudden it'll pop up with the warning it'll say radar ahead. I also wish the display would auto dim after some amount of time the full bright display does not allow the phone to charge while it's on. The latest rev keeps switching from dashboard view to map view on its own whenever I switch apps or use the phone. Also alerts, even when muted block the audio controls so you can’t press pause.
  • Customer Service is non existent

    By JasonG74
After spending way too much cash on a Max 2 that isn’t able to link through Bluetooth 95% of the time I’m telling anyone that is wanting a radar detector buy at the assumption that half the features won’t work and they are the absolutely biggest bunch of asshats a company can have employed.. I called their # and was sent an email with an attachment that my Macbook wouldn’t accept without changing my security settings which should have been a red flag and it was. I went through their instructions and was told that the update had expired. Called them again oh no do it this way. Yeah that didn’t work either. Sent an email and was sent a response to call them.. If you own an iPhone don’t expect it to Bluetooth to your device even if you opt for the 3 year Live App. The detector works but half the features without the Live Link are useless. Their customer service is argumentative and flat out ignorant at best. They refused to send another email with the correct update each of the 3 times I’ve contacted them.. 🖕🏻Escort
  • Good but needs some work

    By CharlotteCraig
I’ve had this app for about a week now. Overall the functionality works good but some room for improvements if they want users to love this app with there detector. Especially if your paying $100 for a device to use this app. First thing I noticed is the smart cord doesn’t always sync up to your phones Bluetooth which is a huge pain, unplug the radar or close the app and start over Second the google maps in the top left show an error every time. When speaking to support its a known issue but no fix. So it’s not being worked on? Third and this one drives me nuts. If your not in the app and a notification comes up, once you open and brings you to the app the alert goes away so you can’t “report” or “lockout”. If Escort developers can fix these three things I’d be a much happier user. Still deciding if I want to keep the smart cord or return now
  • Escort Radar Detectors are Awesome!!!

    By dondiecast
I've had my third Escort Radar Detector for almost 3years now. I love it. I have a 1st Generation Passport Max with the Live Cord. It's makes it way better than yesterday's detectors. One day I need to upgrade again and get the newest model. I live in a small area and so far it far exceeds what I need. For my area, I'm not using most of the features my model is capable of. I have to travel in order to get any actual laser signals. I would strongly advice giving Escort a try. I'm kinda partial to Escort. I have friends that swear by Valentine One, but I've always had the greatest of luck with Escort. I'm probably a lifelong customer. I've tried other brands, but always wish I had just bought an Escort. Put your money on an Escort. You'll be happy that you did.
  • Completely Defective with iOS 11

    By Zubra1
First off I must say I have been a huge fan of the Escort radar Max 360 detecter since its launch 2 years ago. The main reason why I purchased this detector was because of the Escort Live App which warns of live alerts as reported by other Escort users and even manages to filter out unwanted K band false alarms. However after renewing my Escort Live subscription for the second time, I have found out that this app no longer works with iOS 11 nor do they have a fix scheduled. I called Escort several times and after being put on hold for over 30 minutes at a time, spoke to different reps who stated they are aware of the app issues but have no way of resolving it yet. Without this app the radar detector is no better than any cheap one on the market and to make things worse, you need the app to change the detectors settings. Stay away from this using this app or Escort detectors it until they do their job and fix this thing.
  • The app resets its settings sometimes

    By prometery
Once in a while, when I launch the app, I see a License agreement form (which I have previously accepted) or a Tutorial on how to get started instead of the login screen. The app seems to forget all its settings (Over speed limit threshold, simple/advanced alert type, and Locked out radar locations). At least if remembers the password and would login after killing it and restarting at this point, but all the settings are back to default. It used to be the case that after each of those “amnesia” events the app size would increase, so old settings and data still live on the device, but are ignored by the app. This is my main annoyance. I wouldn’t repeat other comments, but the app also needs a good UI update (perhaps even rewrite with auto layout, especially now when iPhone X is here).
  • Escort Customer Service response to iOS 11

    By Mchacker
Michael Chacker-Mendoza Have the same issue with my 360 and called Escort Customer Service explain the situation and the answer the agent gave me was that the developers of Apple where going to fix the issue that this has happened due to going to iOS 11 this was about two month after iOS 11 came out called again several time and they said will look into it and here we are once again at percent time and the same issue persist the gentlemen by the name of Erik on previous post is correct on his statement I also have four radars and they don’t connect have to turn phone of radar of and some times log of from the app and it still doesn’t work previous to iOS 11 it was good don’t know what its talking to long to fix this issue I guess we spend money on the smart cord for nothing due to the fact that we are using the radar like normal with out the help of the live databases of other escort live users.

I have had multiple radar detectors in the past including valentine the redline and the max 360,but every since I purchased the max 360C I have had issues with Escort Live,,I have an iPhone 7 with all the updates and every time I try to use Escort Live the alerts will come through into my phone but will not show up on the map, I have called multiple times to escort Support and so far no one has been able to help me with this issue,, I am very disappointed with escort support group so at this point especially with no help from escort I cannot recommend this product at all if it changes in the future I will write another review from the answers I’ve already received where they have told me well that is strange and Maybe it’s a phone issue but I have called Apple also and they said it’s either in the detector and or the application
