Downloading and installing myGMC on your Windows PC

Download myGMC for Windows: myGMC is an Lifestyle App, developed by General Motors Company. The Lifestyle App was officially released 2010-11-04. Today, it has gone through many interations by the developers - General Motors Company, with the latest current version being 3.15.1 which was officially released on 2018-10-31. Using myGMC on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install myGMC on your computer in 4 simple steps below:


1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR
B. Bluestacks App .
Personally, I recommend the "B" option as Bluestacks is very popular so if you run into any trobles using it, you can find good solutions on Google or Bing (lol). 


2: Now Install the Software Emulator on your Windows PC

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.


3: How to Use myGMC for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type myGMC in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on myGMC application icon. A window of myGMC will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the myGMC icon. Click on it and start using the application.

    ***UPDATED (see my original review below)*** After my original review, several emails, etc., the app finally began working correctly. No official determination on the actual problem, but I’m happy that it actually works. It IS a GREAT app and I’m happy to be able to leave a positive review. Both OnStar and GMC are awesome companies that have excellent customer service. ********ORIGINAL REVIEW******** I LOVED this app, until it updated and took away all the features I use... Those features may still be there, BUT since the app refuses to identify my OnStar account (which I have confirmed is current with OnStar), I can no longer use them. So, I cannot remote lock/unlock or start my car, check diagnostics, send addresses to my navigation, etc. All these functions are the purpose of this app for me, personally. I am very disappointed.

    So after two years of having a General Motors vehicle, a GMC Yukon Denali and having basic OnStar which I feel should have basic features I have had my send to navigation option taken away from the app after two years with no notice and no consideration for the fact that we own multiple General Motors vehicles. you took away navigation from the consumer in order to force a sale of higher priced OnStar services which I feel only makes your product now look less desirable and I hope that everyone reading this will consider not purchasing a General Motors vehicle based on the heavy-handed approach that you have taken and taking away the liberties of a simple send to navigation. I noticed that as developer you were leaving remarks back to bad reviews please don't bother leaving a standard copy and paste remark telling us about how awesome General Motors is when all you do is take away features and force people to pay for things they didn't have to pay for before. I moved from Jaguar and Land Rover to GMC and Cadillac, I have owned BMW and Mercedes very happily. As quickly as I divorced them I will divorce you General Motors and I will go back to your German adversaries. This is an absolute shame in business ethics that you would resort to nickel and diming a simple navigation feature to try and push your ill prepared and very non-feature-rich OnStar services.
  • These apps are not working correctly

    I have been using the My Chevrolet app ever since it came out. It will not stay logged in, says session has timed out and gives a 401_1 error. Once I get logged in the app will work for a brief period of time and then logs out of the system I finally downloaded the My GMC app and it stays logged in. They appear to be the same version except for the logo screen. What gives? With the My Chevy app I totally removed it from the phone and then reloaded it several times at the direction of an OnStar rep. Rebooted the phone between installs and it still does not work. Have received three calls from OnStar team in Austin and went through the same procedures again several times all to no resolution. Have been told that they would get back to me with a resolution but so far have not received one. I installed the regular branded OnStar app and it seems to stay logged in but there is no Touch ID function in that app? Am now still using the My GMC app and it so far has stayed logged in but I see others using this app are having the same issues as I was on the Chevy app. Something is wrong with this latest version of all of these apps and needs to be resolved.     Update- Thanks GM! After a little work GM resolved my issues and I am now able to use this app. I am back to use Inc the app daily and really enjoying it. Thanks! Original review - Recent versions of this app have required you to consistently log in using a manual ID and password. The app no longer consistently allows you to use Touch ID. I have used this app a lot and like the functionality - when it’s logged in. Having to put a manual password in every day makes it a pain to use - and I no longer do.
  • STOP LOGGING ME OUT

    solid app, have always used it but I have to say lately I’m not a fan. I am constantly logged out, my “session has expired” and I have to login everyday, sometimes more than once regardless of having the keep me logged in in the on position. Is the reason for my one star rating, constantly being logged out is a hassle and inconvenient. Please fix this ASAP. Update - uninstalling and reinstalling did not solve the problem immediately but 2 days later the app was working as expected and currently is not constantly logging me out. Thanks for the assistance

    I really like this app. I use it for the lock/unlock of my doors, remote start, navigation to vehicle and vehicle status. Even the vehicle location is great. I was happy that the DEF level was added since I have a Sierra 2500HD with the Duramax. My only complaints is the refresh takes a long time. And since adding the DEF, how about adding fuel filter life as well. Also add the trip B. Address the couple issues and this app gets 5 stars. But overall... I can't complain and I do use it quite often for it's convenience.
  • Cannot send In Dash navigation from app

    Used to have ability to send street address from the app to my cars in dash navigation, free of charge for 2.5 years. Now I have to purchase a OnStar plan to do this...? No thanks. Update: recently noticed that the apps ability to send address to my in dash navigation has been restored without requiring an On Star plan. This shows that GM is listening and taking action based on the feedback. Great Job! I have increased my rating based on this action.

    You guys tout the hands free calling as the second coming of Christ. Why does it not understand my accent. I do live in Louisiana, but have been told that I do not have a Cajun accent, and still, your Computer does not understand me. It is Feature that does not understand me. I was told to use it more, and it would get easier. That sir, is a Dam Lie. I got my truck in 2015 and still cannot use the feature the computer keeps saying “pardon”. I have gotten so upset that I now only call for a GM Rep. So that I can give them the frustration that I feel. I am now looking at the New Fords, and will be happy to drop GMC junk. I am sending this on my phone, look the number.
  • "Send to In-dash Navigation" feature

    The previous update removed the option to send an address to your navigation system from your phone. Then you would have to pull over your car where it might not be safe and manually type the address into the navigator. UPDATE: Looks like they've restored this feature in the latest version of the app. Thank you GMC!

    ** Used to have navigation from the app to send to my vehicle now that option is no longer there from the last update.. not very impressed by that. Is there a reason to this change? **. I rate this five stars had the above issue and it has been resolved in a very timely manner. Very pleased with this app and developer all around. User friendly and easy to navigate the app.
