Delta seem to be unaware of the digital age, their app “forgets” your password when connectivity is limited, which if one had to guess that would be in airports. Currently at the Delta lounge where my app has once again chosen to forgotten my password. That requires going to the desk to get a paper boarding pass and then waste another 30 minutes resetting all my passwords. This is the nice explanation, as I know my password, however the only solution to get back into your app is to change your password. If you put In the correct password rather than reset it, in two attempts you get locked out of the app. In today’s world with multiple smartphones, iPads, and computers this amounts to a considerable burden based upon amateurish programming of the app. If you call the diamond line, they transfer you to “technical support” who will tell you there is no technical support, just app navigation. In case it is not obvious guidance upon which button to push on an app that cannot be accessed is a useless waste of time (having tried it 5 different times in the past few months, it is painful). Navigation support does not understand programming so they cannot or will not transmit the issue to someone who could potentially resolve this issue (which does not happen on my banking apps with the same connectivity level).

It is unbelievable to me that I spend thousands of dollars annually, both personally and as an organization hundreds of thousands of dollars. And with that being said... I recently changed from the first class ticket to a coach fare which was a change in class on same-day change and you charged me $64 additional extra dollars and were only willing to waive the change fee because there was a change in class is unbelievable! Disappointed beyond measure just because of the principle of the matter! Delta... think who your customer actually is and the impact now of someone highly disappointed for $64... unbelievable! Another thing that has been highly frustrating is recently you lost my luggage and it had my CPAP machine in it. And, all I was given was “I’m sorry and 5000 miles” and it literally destroyed my nights sleep. I get 2000 extra miles from you if you’re just 20 minutes late with my baggage... I can’t imagine if you were two days late with my luggage like last year in Scotland and another time in Vegas I probably would’ve only gotten an extra thousand more miles. But I didn’t even take the time to call because it’s evident you have forgotten who keeps you in business. Disappointed... as this week I become a Diamond medallion... go figure!
  • Many missing options

One of the many missing options is the opportunity to volunteer when a flight is overbooked. I just checked in for an overbooked flight and was never directed to the volunteer screen. If I had used the airport kiosk, I could have volunteered. True, volunteering does not guarantee being chosen, but at least I would have had the opportunity to try. I’ve had this same problem when the app has automatically checked me in and never allowed me the option of volunteering for overbooked flights. I am seriously considering deleting this app. Today: After neither the app nor the website would not let me volunteer, I checked in for this morning’s flight at the airport kiosk and easily accessed the volunteer screen. Unfortunately, I figured that I did not need the paper boarding pass because it would be on my phone. This app made me check in again to view the boarding passes and, once again, did not provide the volunteer screen. Fortunately, the gate agent was extremely helpful and added my name to the list at the price I wanted. The big problem is that if two people volunteer at the same price, one of the deciding factors is who volunteered first. It would be wonderful if the app let me volunteer when I check in 24 hours in advance then let me check the status whenever I want to see if the list has begun and add my name — if there was no list yet at check in.
  • I missed my flight, but…

I miss my flight (which I’ve never done before) and had to rebook a new flight. I had tried to get through the deltas customer service and unfortunately was not able to get a hold of anybody at the time and left my call back number. I knew I was going to have to wait a little bit over two hours but did not have the time as I need to book something immediately so I contacted Travelocity to book the flight for me. When I found out that it was gonna cost me over $507, I asked him if this was a competitive price and if Delta was going to charge me the same price if I would’ve waited for them to call me back. Travelocity told me yes it would’ve been the same price. I then got a phone call back from one of the Delta representatives and not only was the flight for $130 she even told me to wait and talk to her supervisor and they did not give me any penalization charges and in the end I only paid $230 for that flight. I was able to cancel my previous flight with Travelocity and book my flight with Delta. Thank you for doing this and really appreciate what the representative at Delta was able to do!
  • Amazing Airline

My boyfriend and I had been apart from each other while he went to Senior Enlisted Academy in Rhode Island then to Panama City. We met up for a convention in Denver he had to fly out that night and I was going to spend the night in the airport leaving the following afternoon. I was heartbroken to be apart from him for even another 24hrs since he leaves for Alabama shortly. The morning he was supposed to leave we called the airline to see if it was possible and how much it would be to be on the same flight. We spoke to the sweetest lady who explained that technically my ticket was a basic economy with no refunds or any ability to transfer to another plane but then she said here’s the heart piece though... I have a big heart and am truly thankful for his service so I’m not only going to make sure you’re on the same plane but have seats in a two seat row so you can get some time together. I was in tears and so grateful for her helpful and kind demeanor. I will fly Delta forever! At least until we buy our own plane which is another story completely!
  • Never fly.

My flight was originally delayed 8 times with no explanation then cancelled. They gave me a major issue putting me on another flight after they cancelled my original. They finally said it was a mechanical issue that caused the delays/cancellation. My next experience with delta they delayed my flight 30 minutes before boarding. Another hour later they delayed it again with no explanation. After calling delta corporate they said it was again a mechanical issue and it would NOT be delayed again. About five minutes after I got off the phone with delta my flight was then cancelled. I went to the counter and they said it was weather related but my departing city and the city I would arrive in was both clear skies and 71 degrees. So now not only have they given me two completely different explanations but the second one is inaccurate. They delayed my flight going home and then cancelled that leaving me stuck in the city I was flying out of. I filed a claim for a refund and they have yet to get back to me. The employees were incompetent, not helpful whatsoever, and incredibly disrespectful. Over all worst experience in airline aviation I would never recommend delta ever again. Jet blue is a much better airline and very accommodating to their customers.

Very inefficient when trying to change an existing reservation. There are 2 ‘go back’ arrows you press the wrong one, you have to start your whole. So if you click on the flight you potentially may change to, it will calculate the change fee and price difference, and new total. If you want to compare a price with a different Day, you have to start the search all over again. It just doesn’t make sense. People these day need to be able to make changes themselves and see their options. This app makes it very difficult to do that. Then if you call the phone center. They are even more useless. It seems their computers are really old, and their price quotes are always like $3000 more than the prices I found. Their computers automatically just pick the most expensive flight to quote to customers. Then if you tell them about the flight you found. It takes them like 30 minutes to be able to pull it up themselves. It is infuriating. I am happy that eventually Delta wants to phase out all of the customer service people and replace them with an AI program. So, I suppose it doesn’t make sense for them to update them computer programs they are working with.

ATL has been a significant thorn in my backside the past 30 days!!! I’ve had two flights transiting through ATL w/over a 3 & 1 hour delay respectively due to rain—only rain! After analyzing why, I’ve concluded that Delta can’t handle any delay because the airport doesn’t have the capacity for sooooooo many Delta flights. I know ATL is Delta’s “precious baby” but I’ll fly another carrier to avoid ATL in the future!!! Additionally, it seems there is a lack of integrity among Delta employees—I seldom here the TRUTH when it comes to actual delay time!! For example—on the second delayed flight last week (DL2078 on 2 Aug), after multiple revisions and nearly an hour delay in the terminal, there were subsequent delays: 10 min at the gate (B34) after door was closed, 8 to 10 min delay in the alley after push & start, 25-30 min taxi delay to RWY 8R from B34 because the back end of the “congo” line started way down by TWY C...and no Delta employee gave any explanation. The Captain did comment that he was doing everything he could to expedite!! UNSAT!!! Delta has outgrown it’s “precious”

Horrible costumer service, plane delayed for mechanical issues causing us to miss connection and not get another flight out until the next day. The airline ran out of food for purchase and only offered a granola bar and one drink service on a 5 hour flight which was delayed over dinner time. Did not offer to reimburse for our hotel room although it was their issue for the delay because we were proactive and booked a hotel on our own. No one could even tell us if we needed to pick up our bags and recheck them or if they would continue on to our final destination, after discussing with multiple delta representatives before and after the flight and on the phone! I was told that they “guessed” that we didn’t need to pick them up and that they would get to our final destination the next day. I initially had to wait over 2 hours for a call back to get our flight rebooked and then after landing after midnight was told to wait in the costumer service line which was at least 20 person long!! Very disappointed in all aspects of this airline. I expected better!! I would give negative stars if I could!
  • Ticket issues

I originally purchased my tickets on Orbitz and bought the flight protection. My project I was flying out for was postponed a week so I needed to change my flight. I did the change on Orbitz, 4 of us flying so 4 tickets I had to change. I made the change online but come to find out it wasn’t a change, Orbitz charged me for new flights but wouldn’t refund my original tickets. After many calls to them and many hours later they said there was nothing they could do for me. Assuming at this point I was going to be out a large amount of money I called Delta and within 10min the issue was resolved and the ticket charges were refunded and my card was credited the full amount. I will be going direct with Delta in the future for booking trips. I highly recommend thinking twice before using Orbitz. I give Delta 5 stars for their customer service! Thank you Delta
