Downloading and installing SYFY on your Windows PC

Download SYFY for Windows: SYFY is an Entertainment App, developed by NBCUniversal Media, LLC. The Entertainment App was officially released 2010-07-03. Using SYFY on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. 1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.


3: How to Use SYFY for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type SYFY in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on SYFY application icon. A window of SYFY will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the SYFY icon. Click on it and start using the application.

    I agree with many others on the issue of having to pay for SYFY app and also needing a paid subscription to a cable comp. to use this app!! I paid for this app for 1 reason only and that was to Watch season 3 of Wynonna Earp. I truly don’t use the app for any other reason. But I do have 2 more complaints about this app. And once again in unison with many others leaving reviews, and that’s the advertisements, MY GOD, how many do we have to watch during 1 show? And I’m paying for all this, man does that make me very mad!!! Every App I download I pay for “no advertisements” I know what I need and how to research a product I want to purchase I don’t need all this advertising in my face. Somehow I will find a way of watching a show without having to purchase this app again!! Also the controls for rewinding and making ahead in a show are TERRIBLE, you would think with all the money they scam off us they would make the app impeccable? I absolutely LOVE the SYFY channel, but this app is for the birds!!!!! Very disappointing
  • Doesn't let me watch anything

    When I log in it just shows me the plan info and won't let me watch anything. Pretty useless app. Edit: after logging in about 50 times and giving up the app finally auto logged in when I went to sign in one last time hours later, now it let's me watch things. I guess I'll just have to go through this process every time it makes me log in again? Sure hope not. Like the review below says, when it works it works great, but when it doesn't I just resort to watching torrents cause those are up before the channel has its own show up. I'd suggest fixing your login process or at least take away the part that auto shows your plan in the middle of trying to log in. If I want to see my plan I'll go to my account settings and such. Since it does work I'll give a couple extra stars. Just a serious hassle and couldn't watch shows live
  • Channel Zero Not Working on SyFy

    I am subscribed to Frontier Communications and am using the SyFy app on the Apple TV (4th gen) and on an iPad Pro. When I attempt to watch the TV series Channel Zero on either device, it always takes me to the first episode. I can see all of the six episodes of season 1 listed in the menu, but regardless of which episode I select, it always plays episode 1, "Candle Cove" even when the Info screen says I am playing another episode. Since this is happening on different devices with different OS’s, I think the problem is on the SyFy end. I am able to watch all other SyFy TV series without any issue. I tried to submit this problem directly to SyFy through NBCUniversal’s TVE online service. I entered all of the information requested, hit submit and nothing happened, no response from the page at all. SyFy needs to get their digital act together.
  • Advertising Is overload

    I love SYFY and have for 20 years. I have no issues with supporting syfy by watching an advertisement. However, this app requires you to watch 25 mins of advertising during one single episode. You cannot turn it off or you’ll be forced to start completely over on the ads to be able to continue the show. Top that off with a very short list of ads and you’ll find yourself watching the same ad atleast 3 times during one episode. Ring my bell is the most annoying ad ever created. So, I’m assuming the person in charge of placement is trying to scare off anyone who uses the app. Volume is another issue. So prepare yourself for a good ear f@&)ing if you’re not fast enough to turn your phone down when any ad starts. I swear that’s a federal law mandating volume leveling, but maybe net neutrality gives them free reign to burn ear drums. All in all. I suggest only using this app in absolute dire need. I absolutely understand the need for commercials. What I cannot understand is that this is not a free app. It requires a paid account with a major cable provider to be able to watch. So, Universal. I would like to know if you think you’re fooling people or if your greed is just so great that double dipping is just part of your mantra.
  • Bad On-Demand User Experience

    I initially liked the app. It supports Chromecast and I can use the TV app to go directly to movies or shows on demand. However, there is no basic fast forward/resume playback for videos! I was watching a movie (with ads, but I can deal with that) and got interrupted. I stopped the movie planning to pick up in the middle when I got back. But, no. The SyFy app only lets you watch from the beginning! I don't want to re-watch an hour of movie just to see the last half hour! If they fix this it'll probably be a 4-5 star app. Until then, it's a failure as a video app. Edit: Seeking to a point in the video sometimes works. After several times restarting the app, the bar showed up. Still a big flaw.
  • Very buggy app, rarely works

    I have the app on my iPhone X and while they have some great articles there are way too many bugs to make the app worth keeping on your phone. 1) Two out of three times the app crashes taking your phone down with it shutting it down and turning off your phone. 2) On the one time the app doesn’t shut down your phone, just reading a few articles leaves your phone too hot to hold. 3) If you want to read comments on an article, good luck. The comments on every article are the same and seem to be carried over from some other random article 4) If you can read an article and go back to the main screen you’re taken all the way to the top of the list and have to scroll and scroll back down to find where you were.
  • Love this App and the shows

    I like most of the SyFy shows but don't actually have the chance to watch them when they air, so I like that this app allows me to watch the most current season without locking the early episodes. The streaming is great too there isn't any weird lags and the commercials don't freeze, it also allows you to stop mid episode and come back to watch it later without resetting the whole episode which on other media players can be super annoying- it's really nice if you like SyFy's shows and dont have the time to stay up and watch the episode on tv ;)
  • Can’t actually WATCH anything on appleTV

    App is fairly useless in my appleTV. Shows info about shows but won’t let me watch them. I select the WATCH button and it presses down, the screen changes briefly and then just comes back to where it was. No error is given. It just comes back. When I try to log in the sign-in button moves but nothing else happens. I have even tried reinstalling it a few times but that doesn’t help. Update: after a few more reinstalls I was finally able to get the app to prompt me for login info and then passed me along properly to select my provider, etc., so I am able to use the app on my appleTV. I guess you just have to try a whole lot of times.

    It's not as good as CC app but much better than the TBS and TNT app. Compared to the TBS and TNT app it is far superior in its live TV view ability, i have yet to have any issues in connecting in the syfy app. It's commercial times when watching on demand are not as long as the other apps and i have no problem with it cutting out and having to restart the app. Overall, I just wish that all TV apps could learn from the CC app and this SYFY app in order to provide quality TV away from home with out having an issue every three minutes or so with connecting or not loading.
  • App is Okay. Notifications ruin experience

    The app itself works pretty well, only with the occasional hiccup. My main issue is that full screen modal notifications pop up while I’m watching shows. This should never happen. Slightly lesser but also worth mentioning, when this app is connected to a TV via the HDMI dongle, the output to the TV is not just the video (as it should be). Instead, it’s just screen mirroring from my iPhone, which means my iPhone must be awake the entire time I’m watching a show. Because I’m using an iPhone X, that also means the show I’m watching is pillarboxed and letterboxed (since the aspect ratio of the X is wider than 16:9). Both of these issues knock 2 stars off.
