Using iMovie on your Windows computer is actually very easy but if you are new to this process, you will definitely need to pay attention to the steps listed below. This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install iMovie on your computer in 4 simple steps below:

1: Download an Andriod Software emulator for Windows

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR
B. Bluestacks App .
Personally, I recommend the "B" option as Bluestacks is very popular so if you run into any trobles using it, you can find good solutions on Google or Bing (lol).

2: Now Install the Software Emulator on your Windows PC

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.

3: How to Use iMovie for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type iMovie in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on iMovie application icon. A window of iMovie will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the iMovie icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Hope it was not too difficult? If you have any further inquiries, contact me through the "Contact" link at the bottom of this page so I could help You. Have a nice day!

  • Great 👍🏻 but

    By Mama Music4
It’s really a great game but once you do some you get tired of making movies and trailers so I was thinking it would be cool if you guys added some more stuff in there also I think for music for The background of your iMovie you should be able to get songs from your iPad or phone and transfer it to iMovie please consider these ideas I would also like to say that there should be more sound effects to go with your movie also you should give the people who just started A Lerner video to be able to learn how the whole process works it was confusing to me when we first started doing in class so I think you should make something that would show everybody how to write and everywhere and everything else I didn’t know how to ride till like a week after so that tells you how confusing it is and if there is a learners video you guys should make it easier cause I’m pretty sure we watched it or that was somebody else’s but I am still please consider these I would really like to have more it is really fun game not really game so I really like it it is very fun to do in your free time and if you guys could keep adding stuff please do it but I would rather you had not have to update the app to get it that would be great because some I am now about update my iPad at school but I am on my phone so if you could please do this so be great thank you
  • It used to be good. but it needs to be updated!

    By Annsmanjoe
I loved iMovie! I used it ever since it came out up until my iPhone 7 Plus all the videos I ever made was through iMovie on my phone it just works so good that I did not even use my computer everything seem to work fine but for some reason on my iPhone 7 Plus iMovie started glitching out crashing the app and it just would not work when you created a video half of the video titles would be black so when you’re playing the video and it goes to the next track it would just be a long black bar that you would have to edit again cut it and restart your phone just to see your change and then once you exported your video all the sound would be out of sync with the video even though it was all on one track and not added sound. This became very aggravating and I deleted iMovie and then reinstalled it when I got my iPhone X is the same issue it’s not updated for iPhone X at all and all the bugs are still present from when I had my iPhone 7 Plus. The only reason it got two stars is because are used to love it but now I cannot even make a simple slideshow with three or four pictures without it throwing black bars in on sinking the audio. I have submitted many many different feedback request to the app support team the beta thing and just Apple in general and never got anything done so I figured I would leave a review I’m not sure how the biggest company in the world can’t update their own app
  • Good, but some suggestions

    By Upset with program:(
I think the app is great! I use it to edit my videos and make them look professional. There are a few things I think Apple Should do though. First of all, I think they should add an option to actually move the text wherever you want, not just where the set locations are. I also think they should make an option to choose the color of your text. This would be very helpful! Lastly, I think that we should be able to add a picture over a video (overlapping). I think that adding these features would bring the app to 5 stars by me, and I'm sure it'll bring much more happier customers in the future. Something else to note, which really frustrates me, is the fact that when you have missing photos or videos in your project, it doesn't let you save it! I've worked so hard on this one project and because I have 1 picture missing from my camera roll, I can't play it back or share it! Also, I do not like how you cannot move audio to the exact spot where you want it- songs you have in your library have to start from the beginning of the movie, not when you want it to Please fix this!!
  • Overall great, but some suggestions as well

    By Kobi Bryan
I really love this app! It’s very simple to use and can be used to make some very nice videos. The way you can make trailers is super cool too! It basically makes it for you and it comes out looking very professional! However there are some things that I really wish would change. First of all the text, I wish you could move it wherever you think its looks best, not just the center or bottom left or right corner and be able to choose a color for it. Another thing is the fact that you can’t do the slow zoom effect which is gaining much fame amongst YouTubers. I also wish that you could do some more effects like wavy effects or distortions if that makes sense. I know that you can do some of these on IMovie on Macs but that leads me to the last thing, I wish there were just overall more of the things you can do on Macs available for iPhones because let’s face it, most people with IMovie have iPhones. But with just a couple changes it could be sooo much better!! I hope you take this into consideration 😊
  • My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

    By cheeeseboy
I’ve spent a good amount of time messing around with iMovie, and I’ve had some good times with it admittedly, if my projects are less than a minute long. On practically every attempt I’ve made to edit large projects, with lots of audio clips and such, I’ve been not only disappointed, but truly bothered. The app is unstable, it’s slow, and crashes more often than it should, even with simple tasks like opening a photo library or starting a new project, the app has a hard time not slowing down on an iPhone 6s, a phone that has proved to work just fine on other editing apps. But even worse, the most bothersome thing of all, I’ve had multiple instances, where after hours of editing, the app mixes up the entire chain of audio and ruins a large cut of the footage by making what should be a video clip, a freeze frame still. This is utterly infuriating, I have wasted my time trying to make even semi serious work on this app, it just mixes my project into an irreparable blob. I’m writing this review minutes after this very thing occurred once again. Until this app is competency optimized, don’t bother with it.
  • App won’t open

    By imthecomputerguy
Okay, I’m just going to say that I love this app and I use It ALL the time. But, last night the video was about 20 minutes long and the app got SUPER Slow. It took hours to edit something that shouldn’t have. I’ve never had this problem before so I don’t know what’s wrong. this morning I was working on the project And got out of the app temporarily and tried to get back on and it won’t allow me to get back on since! I was really looking forward to making the finishing touches and showing my family but now I cannot. I thought it may have something to do with a storage problem so I got rid of 13 Gigs of storage and it STILL won’t open! I’ve restarted the app countless times, and restarted my phone and yet it still won’t let me open the app. Aaahhhggg help!! This is the first time I’ve had issues with the app. And I don’t want to loose all the hard work I’ve put into this and many other videos as well. Please help
  • a few things you really need to fix (READ)

    By Sk8tr05
it used to be really good, but lately it's been having trouble. i have an iphone 7 so i know it's not my phone. here's a few things you could fix: 1. let us crop it instead of having it always stay horizontal. i have vertical videos i put on there and it puts borders on the side and zooms straight in to the middle. if that's what you call a great editing app, i've seen better. i like lots of the features on imovie, but it's hard to use. 2. sometimes when i'm editing it just stops and doesn't let me change anything and moves the clips around where i dont want them. so i press done then edit it again and the video just goes black and i can't even play it. that's my main issue because i always have to keep starting over and it doesn't even let me save the video after it breaks. 3. maybe have the quality a little better? i press the highest quality when i'm done and it comes out much worse than before i even put it in imovie. please give thought to actually fixing it, because this app does have very good features, but it makes editing confusing and way harder than it needs to be.
  • Had some issues :/

    By RedNightingale
I started out using iMovie for a class project, and because I discovered the trailer options, I began to use it for fun. I used videos of my friends to make funny movies of them because, why not? Eventually, I began to use iMovie on my MacAir, and that was when I realized what the app was missing. Since most of my videos were vertical, there was no way on the app for me to crop them to size and PLACEMENT of my choice. The app will take the vertical videos and fit them to a landscape layout, but it crops off the edges. When dealing with videos of people, this would mean that the template crops out their heads, and there is no way to adjust the videos so that I can reposition the window (on the app). Also, in the app’s trailer mode, I can’t seem to find a way to add a filter to individual clips like I can on the computer. Since I discovered all these missing features, the iMovie player on my computer is acting up, leaving it completely unusable. Now that I am forced to use the app, you can see how frustrated I am with the lack of options available. I highly recommend an update.
  • Horrible in the past, but now starting to get back on track.

    By ckshap
I’ve owned this app for about maybe 5 years now? Ever since I got my first iPad, I have fallen in love with this app and caught myself using it many, many times again. However, it did get frustrating editing videos eventually, as there were many unsolved bugs and glitches. I used to hate iMovie because of this. What’s even worse is that I can’t really disable features I don’t like such as videos and pictures you take automatically saves to your camera roll so it’s easier to accidentally delete something and ruin your video. These problems are being fixed as we speak, but even then, they still exist. I’ve learned to accept it. However, with that being said, there is one feature that definitely stands out to me from all the others. iCloud downloading. iCloud downloading is the bane of my existence. No matter how many times it downloads everything, it always comes back and wastes 10 minutes of your time when all you want to do is preview the video. It shows up EVERY TIME I try to watch/edit one of my videos. I don’t understand the point of this! All of the videos are successfully downloaded onto my camera roll! What’s even worse is that I cannot disable it in settings, iCloud, or any other branch of iMovie I could possibly get my hands on. It’s a fallacy that people would like this feature, I don’t even understand the point of it at all. Hoping for a developer’s response?
  • Worst app ever

    By Imovie is garbage
There’s so much wrong with this app that i don’t even know where to begin, first off, if you guys haven’t given up on this pile of trash you call a video editor, here’s some things you could improve on and fix, first off, there’s an issue where you could be in the middle of editing a video, and then it freezes up to where nothing you do gets applied to the clips, so you refresh the app, because believe me that’s the only the thing you can do fix it, but wait that’s only the beginning, when you go back into the app and back into your project, you’ve come to realize that every single clip has been expanded by 3 seconds on both ends, so now each clip has been expanded by 6 seconds! So I don’t know how much time you have to fix it but quite frankly, I’d much rather just start over entirely than waste half an hour fixing what your app ruined, so my advice, fix the app or just delete because honestly there are way better video editing apps than iMovie. You’re better off deleting this terrible app off the store than keeping it around, you guys are awful at making video editing software
