App Reviews

  • Great App Not Great For Booking

    By Dorian Gray Reduex
This is my 2nd favorite airline app. Booking a flight is easy and I can get to information which is nice. United,Singapore, Southwest, JetBlue and others are about the same but I find the interface better. I will say though the best in the market is Delta. I am sure tons of people have tons to say about Delta but it’s true. The one thing these apps can add is calendar views and better ability to look up awards with partner airlines. I also don’t like the coloration but I am being nit picky. Also if you track airline fare codes etc. Alaska isn’t quite and up front about it as other airlines. If you credit Alaska mileage it’s no big deal but if you credit other airlines it can be a bit annoying. Again minor things but it keeps it from 5 stars as to me on the Delta app I can easily get that information. Some other things like checkout can use help and saving to a wallet can be easier but these are very minor and things most people probably don’t care about.
  • Flaws - Errors - Usability

    By swaudby
This app has some serious usability flaws. Can’t checking in directly from flights purchased using the app? When purchasing app frequently fails. App also doesn’t allow you to search nonstop flights you have to filter them after you perform a search. When you look at your trips, flights are in different screens, would be much more useful on on screen. The first screen is the summary, but it doesn’t give you any summary, but they do give you a pretty photo, not very useful. Definitely could use improvements. I love Alaska Airlines. I usually will pay more to fly them, but the app is definitely a huge area of improvement. With over 20 years of usability experience and almost 20 years of mobile experience, Alaska Airlines mobile team needs to focus on users needs and ease of use.
  • Best airline that cares for their customers.

    By Rob Sites
Have been flying with Alaska for years. Had to take other airlines for business and they were just not the same. Other airlines have forgot how to care for their customers who are paying their hard-earned money for the seats that they are in and seem like they were inconvenienced that they were there. Alaska airlines have always treated me and my wife with the upmost respect gave is very detailed individual attention and made us feel that we were important whether we were sitting in first class, business class or back in the rest of the cabin.
  • App for IOS is great, but why force me to manually add my res?

    By Juankt
As an Alaska Gold 75k, love the app. Pne of my most frequently used apps. One nit about the app is that when i book using my company mandated travel agency i am forced to MANUALLY add my res to my Alaska profile. Seems foolish that alaska just doesn’t add them for me. They have my freq flier associated with the record, why do i have to add it on the app. Book a room at hilton or marriot from ANY of a dozen sites/apps and if you enter your member number you res is guaranteed to appear in your profile. I know that many have beend asking for this feature for YEARS why can’t alaska just add it? Just do it all ready for crying out loud.
  • Hyphenated Last Names

    By eco9er87
Alaska is my top airline to fly with however one recurring issue has made my experiences less than satisfactory. I have a hyphenated last name which the Alaska system is unable to recognize. And as active duty military I fly with a known traveler number for TSA Pre-Check. However, since Alaska’s system cannot process a hyphenated last name I am unable to gain Pre-Check when I fly with them since their system does not match my military ID exactly. This is not a problem on Delta, Frontier, Southwest or others. I would love this to be fixed. Numerous clerks at airports and on the phone have tried very hard to make the fix but, it is a system/software problem. Please Alaska, help me love you even more.
  • Great app!!

    By pwood6
This app is amazing! Very easy to operate when trying to book flights and also check on your flights that you have booked with Alaska. My suggestion to make this app better would be to include all the flights that Alaska’s global partners fly when trying to book a flight to maximize the miles card members hold. It would be so much easier to book a flight overseas in one app instead of booking through multiple websites and airlines just to get the Alaska miles rewards.
  • Simple. Reliable. Efficient.

    By Mr. Model Citizen
I’ve been a regular Alaskan Airlines customer for years and have always been impressed by their reliability, punctuality and quality service provided from ticket booking through arrival at final destination. Their app for iPhone is no less impressive than their service online, on the phone and in person. Booking tickets, checking in for flights, and adding trip information to google calendars are all intuitive, quick and easy.
  • UI needs work

    By Report writer
To many arcane symbols whose meaning is unclear. Stupid automated form changes with no user guidance. Hidden required fields which must be scrolled to view in a screen with no indication fields are there, but with a clear indication that you can select the next step. If you so select app goes into error mode. Too many screens with poor enclosure content grouping so it is difficult to discern what is meant. App throws you into full alpha keyboard when only numbers are permitted. Alaska knows your address, but makes you re-enter it instead of supplying it as an editable default. App checks in multiple people but only shows first person boarding pass. App needs serious UI expert review and ergonomic re-engineering. Not a time saver!
  • Retired military

    By Obbyscuba 2
Alaska is my favorite airline and the app adds to the convenience. It’s now more convenient for me to not fly Alaska since I live in Colorado Springs but as long as you fly out of Denver I’ll stick with you. There is a cumulative feeling of good service that I don’t find with some other airlines. The only thing I wish was on the boarding pass would be the gate number but it not being there may be because I checked in too early with an almost fourteen hour layover between flights.
  • Checking In when I am in a logged in state

    By almondjoy17
As a logged in user in your app, I should be able to check in without needing to locate my mileage number. Currently as I check in, I am forced to cancel to go back to my account profile within the app to locate my mileage number before returning to check in. Since I cannot copy and paste the number, the mileage number field should be numeric keypad only instead of alpha numeric keypad thus forcing the user to switch to enter numbers. Overall the app experience is intuitive but could be improved especially for logged in users.
