I like using this app inside and outside of a WM store. I didn’t give 5-stars for two reasons, one of which WM stores themselves must correct. The other is on corporates shoulders. WM stores themselves *must* have better inventory counts as they do not match what is out on the app. Sometimes prices are WAY off ($5 ++) but mainly when I go to a store, cannot find a price and scan through my app. The app will show the store has zero of this item in inventory. However I’m standing in front of a couple of stacks of these items. The corporate reason is... let’s Clearance some of this (seasonal) stuff out. However instead of taking a dime to a dollar or two off of an item ...how about giving deep, very deep discounts. Luckily split... you will clear out what is needed and have a lot more room for your newer or best seller items. I’m in a roll... corporate WM, let’s talk about plants. I am appalled that after plants are in a clearance that the workers must come by and DUMP these viable plants in the TRASH. For Pete’s sake... how about putting out a blast to local charities? Or assigning an interested customer to give to charities (many shelters can grow food for themselves and other hungry Americans), or trim back to bring to local nursing homes. There is a host of ways to use these and you still get your (charitable) tax write off.

Shopping at Lewisville, TX store on E Round Grove is far less than satisfying right now. The air conditioning in the entire west half of the store has been out for several weeks and I have been told it will be several more weeks until it will be fixed. It is a misery shopping right now in this heat and humidity unless you can restrict yourself only to groceries! Not only that, but at the end of the last week, the ice cream freezers (and I do not know how many other freezers) were down for some time. When I picked up a gallon of Blue Bell this week, all the cartons were iced over and the containers suffered weakness from the condensation. I took a shot thinking they wouldn’t be selling the same ice cream. Well, how do you know when the ice cream has melted a great deal and been refrozen? The cream has separated from other ingredients leaving bites of ice throughout. Not all lost it’s consistency, but a good portion has. Then, totally unrelated, I picked up a loaf of bread that the vendor should never have let get out of their bakery... the top crust was burnt black and the entire loaf was dry and inedible. Walmart always stands behind their policy of returning poor items and they let me return this. So, for now I am driving a ways away and shopping at other Walmarts. If it is truly going to be several more weeks before the AC is fixed, how on earth do the staff handle it?
  • Pure Genius???

Update: My last review was given July 19th. Today is December 20th. Customer Service said they were fixing the Saving Catcher issue that caused submitted receipts not to appear. The problem STILL persist. Frustrating. The Editor's Note calls the Savings Catcher "pure genius" . . . That's a load of BS. First, the Savings Catcher takes longer than 48 hours to process most times. If the comparable sale is short lived, the SC will probably not "catch" it, and you'll get no savings. Second, if and when the SC catches a savings, it catches the least amount: if there are two other stores running comparable sales, one 30¢ less than Walmart and the other 50¢ less, the SC will use the 30¢. Third, submitted receipts don't always show up through the app, even after you get back savings. For those of us who need the receipts, especially since Grocery Pickup doesn't give physical or ereceipts, for taxes, this is a huge problem. I've contacted customer service, who said the issue would be forwarded to Corporate, but after at least 3 released app updates, nothing has changed. I've resorted to shopping at Target for much of my groceries. Instacart is nice, too, for times when I don't have time to in-store shop. The next step is to go to social media to complain. Walmart should not market ANYTHING it does not take seriously or operate as claimed-- it could lead to a class action lawsuit.
  • Won’t allow you to cash in rewards!!!!

Okay like so many people I have been doing the savings catcher for years now. I typically will let it build up and then we I get around $30 or so I start look at the clearance camping supplies. I always joke with my wife that the savings rewards are my little bonus for how much she spends there. However this last little update has really ticked me off. I know a lot of people are upset about the auto gift card transfer. I don’t mind that but I am upset that for the past few days I’ve been trying to transfer more into my gift card but every time I try it tells me oops sorry we are having trouble please try again later. I thought that it might just be the app. So I tried my laptop. When Safari didn’t work I tried Firefox. Then I wrote customer service and they said they were sorry but that I should access the site from google chrome. So I did that and it still doesn’t work. When I try to click on the transfer to gift card it won’t even acknowledge that option. I just wish that everything would be as smooth as it used to be.

I have been using savings catcher for a year now, been working to catch Walmart NOT giving me deals that I know other stores offer. Nope! Walmart ALWAYS give me those deals, they never ever miss! One time I thought they did but I found out I was wrong. The other store had gone up on their price and it was I that was not aware... If you shop at Walmart you’d better download the Walmart app, use savings catcher, and stop playing around! I’ve already saved $65 so far without even trying, just buying my same ordinary groceries that I normally buy, not doing ANYTHING different. I don’t have time for coupons and price checking and stuff. Wayyy too busy for that! So, after I check out I get into my car, open the app real quick, scan my receipt real quick, then go home. Two days later I check the app and see the savings building up. Just that easy! Once I get to $100 I’ll redeem it for something. And it’s fun, the kids love watching it build up, too!.. You all better get this little extra money, we all deserve a break so why not? 😉

I love using this app. It’s been so convenient so many times BUT when I’m trying to find a certain item and I’m inside a Walmart store, I can’t search other Walmart stores. Even if I change the location of “My Store” to the location I’m trying to search, and even turning off my location, it still keeps me at the current store I’m in. This makes it difficult to search other locations without having to first leave the local store I’m in. I’m trying to search a different store so I’ll know beforehand if I need to buy a different product or order online. I’d like to search other locations while standing in one already! This has been an issue SO many times! Also, why does the Savings Catcher keep cashing out my savings? I don’t want it to cash it out. I wanted to keep building it up for Christmas but it cashed it out without giving me an option of allowing it to cash it out or not. What’s the point in having a savings program if the customer isn’t in charge of their own savings? I’d prefer to save mine and then at MY PREFERENCE I’d like to be able to cash it out on one card or in one email!

While over the past 18 years Walmart on Market Place in Cumming Ga has been MY go to Walmart in the last year or I find myself going to other ones more & more. Look I know that all stores don’t always carry the same items and I’m find with that because there is another one (Hwy 9 in Alpharetta Ga) the same distance away. But the small list I have for the second store has gotten longer and is slowly turning into a List of Reasons to just make this my go to Walmart. 😔 It does make me sad because I’ve met a lot of friendly people at my Walmart and the other Walmart doesn’t have that at their store. I do want to say something about the self check outs, I like them I have absolutely no problem checking my self out, but my 1 and only complaint the the staff monitoring it, in my store they have 12 to watch, 8 smaller ones all together & 4 bigger ones on the other side of them. It can be a long long wait a lot of times I must say since we got our first Walmart back in the 80’s in LaPlace, La I’ve ALWAYS been a fan of Walmart.
  • Reward dollars

Walmart has initiated this app to keep their prices lower than their competitors which the whole point was for the customer to have an extra incentive to buy from Walmart and also for Walmart to always have lower prices than the competitors. But.....again Walmart has won and now you don’t rack up the reward dollars like you used to. I spent $600-$1000 per month and would get a substantial amount accumulated and I would save it up and I would purchase a big item. I have used it toward a $70 iron to a $250 pool. I enjoyed scanning my receipts....waiting to see how much I was going to get in return.....then deciding how long I wanted to accumulate them. Now.... Not so much now ..... I still spend the same amount and in the past eight months I have only accumulated $7.89 🤗. Not much of an incentive to drive out of my way to a Walmart so I can save a dollar or two and then get to scan my receipt and then see that I didn’t even have any qualifying items. I will just support my small businesses because at least I know that all the registers will be open.....the employees will be friendly.....and the owners will desperately appreciate my business.

Update: this last rating was a while back, there’s been several updates on this app, but NO FIX on savings catcher OR accessing ANYTHING on the app like my baby registry or wedding registry, can’t apply coupons to online purchases now either. I’ve used this app for a long time and over the past few months it has plummeted down the drain... extremely disappointed. One minute it’s like it’s fixed the next it’s doing the same thing it did before. It says to check connection but I have a full connection always with my service as well as my WiFi at home.... wish someone would address this issue and actually fix it. I’m a former Walmart employee and I’ve used this app for about five years, always been great never had to many issues with it. But for the past few days even after updating my app my savings catcher will not work at all, I can’t scan anything or look at my past purchases (which I really like to do, to keep track of what I do and don’t need) I also can’t access my baby or wedding registry... once this issue is resolved I will change back to a five star rating. I have a iPhone 6 with a 11.4 iOS. Pleeeeeaaase update this.
  • Walmart pay won’t work for security reasons??? !?

I never write reviews but I came to look at the reviews to see if anyone else has the same problem turns out yes they do! I too have had Walmart savings catcher and the Walmart pay for forever now. I’ve loaded hundred of dollars of gifts cards with no issue. Until the other day it’s declined for security reasons?? Use another payment. There’s plenty of money on there in e gift cards. Nobody in store or the 800 number knows anything multiple people in store and multiple transfers to departments at the 866 number and the end result was they will get back to me in 3-5 days by email with tech support! Reallly!!?? There’s no one to talk to? No one to rectify this now? Nobody to transfer to a tangible gift card so I can use it? I love my Walmart pay but now this has really put a wrench in my Walmart shopping. Come on Walmart there must be a better way ! why does nobody have an answer? Another solution they gave was to print the gift card and they can scan it. I sure hope that works although It really defeats the whole simplicity of Walmart pay😔 I’m so disappointed!!!
