App Reviews

  • Awesome App

    By Leatherider
We live about a mile south of one of the weather radar sites here in SE Arizona. The beauty of this app is the ability to view the 2D weather radar in virtually anywhere in the U.S. The GPS location feature initially places the user dead center in the middle of a regional map. Options allow viewing the map as simply a basic road map, a terrain feature map, or in satellite view. And just like the weather maps on TC the density of rainfall is color-based. Haven’t had the opportunity to view snow or hail as yet, but the app does display weather in motion for roughly the previous 30 minutes providing the user with a pretty good idea of what’s happening. Zoom in or out at will from an acre or two right out to at least the nation as a whole. Haven’t tried beyond that. If one has Alerts activated you will get something similar to that which I received this morning: “Rain expected in 25 minutes”. Really?? Yep. Rain started about 30 minutes later!! Another cool feature is the fact that wildfires are also displayed on the map. Clicking the fire icon reveals things like status, size (acres), %containment, started, human or natural caused, etc. Very handy this time of year during fire season here in the western states. Looking closer one can view the actual outline of the fire at it’s location on the map. Don’t think I covered everything, but the app is easy to use and intuitive, and a bit of exploring reveals some neat features!
  • Fun, smart app..GET IT!!

It's exactly what I expected and more as far as details reliability and ease-of-use. As much as I travel, this really gave me some neat perspectives of places that going without having to go online and find it. It's right at my finger tips. I have the free version and I know people are talking about the ads being a problem. Seriously? It's there but, so non intrusive. And, admittedly when you look at the app for the very first time you WILL feel daunted by it. All I say is (get ready to snicker) is play with it. You can't screw it up! Even if you do it's so easy to reset it and start from scratch and it's not tedious to get it to do all you want it to. Living here in Georgia and having so many friends in Florida trying dealing with (for those that stayed) and those who evacuated Hurricane Irma, it really came into it's worth with me being able to, in detail, see what the hurricane was doing and it's possibilities further down the line as it made its way to me. Believe me I AM NO WIZ when it comes to apps. But this is so easy and fun with all of the possibilities you can layer on. For example, you can add the details of how you want to see your weather in nearly every aspect. Couldn't recommend it more. I do not know the developer and was not compensated in any in order to give my review.
  • Just Outstanding, none better!

Update after Hurricane Harvey: this app is beyond amazing, professional and Hurricane upgrade a must if you live along the coast as we do in Houston. I was able through the entire storm monitor the movement. Even able to move the weather cross aim pointer + around the storm's eye wall on radar to see wind speed and direction. It was uncannily how accurate it was. Very important info when riding out the storm. No other weather app out there comes close to the capabilities! NONE I have been looking for a weather app with an accurate radar and the extra tools to have a full understanding of what is really happening, this is it. With my background in aviation and flight safety using the professional package is money well spent. Having all the tools right at your finger tips, all the weather real time symbology, NOTAMs, layered cloud tops to icing levels, and warning areas sets this apart from any other weather app out there. If you actively fly the subscription for the aviation maps would be the icing on the cake. Not only folks in aviation but many in other fields that weather directly effects your business would want this setup. Very glad to have found this app!
  • Awesome app.

    By Chevyfool
Great app. I was previously using NOAA High Def Radar. It WAS an awesome app. They changed things up a bit, as in taking features we had already paid for were taken from us, only to be offered back in a monthly subscription form. Also it slowed way way down, and the available features with the new app were frustrating. I gave the developers over 6 months to make it right, they didn’t, but they kept saying they were making it better. Any way. If you were using that app and are now looking for a good one. Get this, pay for the upgrade and don’t look back. It’s better, faster, and has more features than NOAA high def ever was!!! Get your time line slider back!!! Thanks guys. The only improvement I’d recommend is: I’d like to be able to zoom in further with the satellite view. It’s sufficient, but if trying to zoom in real close to see if it’s raining on a specific ground level structure (like your deer stand) then you need more resolution to zoom in a little further. Thanks.
  • Phone app great...Watch app., not so much

    By BusaBud
I have used this app for years and it has always been great and have recommended it everyone I know. I got a Apple Watch this year and was excited to see that there was an My Radar app for it. It was a paid upgrade, but app has been so good for so long, I bought this it. First off, the watch radar is not animated, which is a huge disappointment. A snapshot of radar doesn’t show me direction of movement, as well as closing speed, and if it building or not. Second, it was slow and buggy as all get out. Now, at some point it has disappeared from my watch all together. I reset the watch, phone, and reinstalled the app on the phone completely. I restored the watch purchase and nothing is there. The watch control center on the phone doesn’t even show that there is a My Radar app all. Update: The patch released allowed me to get the app back on the watch. I will update if the performance is improved.
  • Wow :)

    By Parkavedobe
I originally gave this app 5 stars...Please see my adjustment following the first notes - I had downloaded and deleted about 10 apps before I found this one. This App is more/has more than apps you would pay for! It’s fast, user friendly, I love the layers and clarity. Truly top notch! My last weather app was aviator friendly til it was removed... I’m thrilled to have found this one!! Thumbs up! ...A week later, I add this - while the App is top notch in radar and app function, it lacks small town accuracy! Egad, how can this be?!! Pinpoint several towns and see the vast discrepancy! In Arizona, northern towns and westerly towns are nonexistent! So, it is NOT accurate to give a weather cast for a high plains town with a mountain town! Or a desert town weather cast with a town 80 miles away??? I am disappointed that this is not being addressed! Fwiw, I have noticed this problem in Idaho, Nevada and Utah so far. So my guessing for a forecast in ignored areas (I travel A LOT) is not what I was looking for in a weather app!! Perhaps, my search continues :/
  • Do not buy (in app purchases) unless you read

    By DATC8canote
Let me start by saying I love my radar and am very blessed to have it. However, I have found that making the in app purchases of the free version only enables the purchases on that singular device so if you have an iPad or a family account with purchased apps it will not show up on other devices. I'm really worried that when it comes time to upgrade my phone my radar won't allow me to have all the extras I paid for (such as hurricane tracker and radar pro) on my new device. This has kept me from purchasing the professional radar pack as well for fear that I would just be required to purchase again. On a side note, it would be fantastic if the widget screen showed a view of the radar instead of the temperature or gave the option for both. There are plenty other weather apps for this function. The radar is what sets this apart from those so it would be wonderful to be able to take advantage of it on the widget screen.
  • Buy an umbrella or get this app...or both, both is also good.

    By Jc0912
The alternative to this app is carrying an umbrella all the time. This app is cheaper than an umbrella. I like this app. I’ve used this app many times to avoid getting soaked in a sudden down pour when running to my car. Whether leaving work or at the grocery store this app gives you the tool needed to decide when to run or when to just chill a few minutes and let it pass. Why guess when the rain will stop when it’s right at your fingertips? This app will tell you when it’s likely to rain in a few mins. Hello? Siri won’t do that for you! Wake up people! Know when it’s gonna stop raining. Don’t be that fool running through the parking lot getting soaking wet when it’s gonna stop raining in just a couple mins. I’ve tried warning people they scoffed at me. They were wet fools. I was not. Don’t be a wet fool.
  • This is by far the best wether radar on the App Store

    By RalphRogers
So far I’ve installed the local weather app and the weather bug app, the noaa weather radar, not to mention accuweather and was annoyed when I ran them all side by side and had different images from each. Later I realized out of all the maps the my radar was the most updated one and the most accurate one of the bunch. Showing rain when it was actually raining and the severity of the storm being exactly what it was... I always assumed they were the same , using the same radars but never had much luck until I started using “my radar”. I mow lawns so knowing where the rain actually is and when it’s coming means staying dry in my line of work. Also this is the first review I’ve ever written and wouldn’t take the time if this wasn’t truly a honest app that works and shows accurate information

    By amyliz277
I’ve been using this app for years! I mean years! So when my HURRICANE PRO app maker retired last year and the app went dormant I had to find a new hurricane tracking app. So looking at my options and prices. Your $2.99 to upgrade on My Radar seemed like a steal! Well it’s NOT maker of the product and ppl reading my review! For $2.99 when you upgrade in the app luckily I hit Upgrade on Hurricane Tracker or whatever it is and I thought I would get what was all listed the upgrade...UM NO YOU DON’T!!! Well you know what you can take you $2.99 plus tax and stick it up your ⭐️🐟! Seriously! I would have given it 5 freaking stars if you had given me what you advertised for the PRO but nope you didn’ here I am complaining and I want a freaking damm refund! Once I get my refund I will never use this app again! I will be deleting it for good after this! It’s the principle of the matter! Misleading and not honest that is what you are! Don’t spend your $2.99 or you will be disappointed people! Money back plus my tax developer of this awesomely crappy app! I’m going to complain till I can’t!
