Downloading and installing DIRECTV on your Windows PC

Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.


3: How to Use DIRECTV for Windows PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type DIRECTV in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on DIRECTV application icon. A window of DIRECTV will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
Next, you will see the "All Apps" icon.
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the DIRECTV icon. Click on it and start using the application.

  • No longer mirrors when tethering to HDMI TV

    I used to love this app. We live in Alaska and travel South every winter. I would tether my iPhone using an Apple HDMI Adapter and could stream HDMI on my TV in my RV. Since upgrading to OS 12 I am no longer able to do this. In spite of the fact that we still have service in Alaska that isn’t being used when we are on vacation. My husband’s phone which runs OS 10.3.3 still is able to tether his phone to the TV and stream. We don’t have home internet because it is so expensive here so we depend on our phone account for data. I don’t really understand why Direct TV doesn’t use the same app for those who wish to stream and those who have a subscription. Instead of Direct TV Now, it seems like a no brained. I have to place a hold on my account with Direct TV when we go on vacation now and sign up for Direct TV now in order to tether to our TV when we are on vacation. It seems ridiculous that we have to place our service on hold and add a new service temporarily just to tether our TV to our phone. I hope Direct TV hears all of us who are complaining about this issue and works with Apple on the black TV screen issue or consolidate the two apps into one that streams to TV. Come on AT&T don’t be greedy, we pay for this service to take our TV with us but we really can’t. Who wants to watch TV on a tiny iPhone screen? Certainly not me!!!
  • Apple TV Mirroring Disabled

    So. The main reason I went with Direct was the ability of the app for tv mirroring. That way we didn’t need cables run to places such as outdoor living areas / porches. Was also convenient for business travel - connect phone/iPad to hotel tv, and have home programming/recordings available! However, tv mirroring was disabled last fall and you get a warning to disable “on screen recording.” At the time, when it first was disabled, tech support was CLUELESS, and after some research I figured out what was going on. Called back and explained and told “oh it must be a glitch in new app update, next update it will come back.” No need over the winter, but with spring getting outdoor places / TVs going again, but noooo, mirroring is still disabled. In addition to this inconvenience, when we had Direct installed, was quick since we did not have cables run to remote outdoor locations and some bedrooms. After mirroring was disabled, called to have cables run, but now it will cost more since we already had initial install! What? Had Direct been up front and not changed their service, this would not be needed! As soon as contract is up, switching to a cable service that allows for tv mirroring. This bait and switch is total rubbish!
  • Selecting a TV show or movie.

    So it fair for my comments I think I should say I’ using the app on and iPhone 6 that’s using the iOS version 11.2.1. With out making the thumbs nails smaller I’m not sure how you get more on the screen, but as I’m seeing four of every category then as I try and skip ahead with in the category it will only load the next 3 the get hung up and then spend thirty to sixty seconds trying to reconnect. So the app can reload the same thumb nails. Happens a lot in the Live category. I am only make the assumption that it is updating the app because live TV is that. Live TV, so it must update. Yet, it is very annoying. I watch a certain sport show that’s broadcast live on the app starting at 9:00 AM CST and ends at 12:00CST and and once it’s going J don’t have that many issues, but with the constant reloading of the thumbnails makes me be like a ninja swiping from right to left trying to reach my TV show before it makes the decision to reset and then start the list over. That’s is really frustrating. I have more, but I’m sure people have fallen asleep by now.

    Being able to live around the United States in so many different places experiencing all that there is, there’s no other experience better than DirecTV and AT&T. Both are the dominant leaders in each market not only because of their strive to do what is best for their customers in part by what they have to offer, but by the uncompromising level of customer service they bring to the table over and over and over again. Other networks say they do this and do that only to truly be hypocritical of others in so many ways, but I’m my experience in many years now in service we have been given the red carpet treatment through and through. There isn’t a cable company, nor cell phone carrier that’ll ever be able to give you the quality customer care that you’ll be given within Directv and At&t. Not Comcast, not Verizon, not Charter, DEFINATELY NOT LIARS AND STEALERS SPRINT, not anyone. To be fair, At&t back in the day experimented with using third party contractors which I believe led to loss of customer base, so years recently in the area I live in currently the contractors are now all At&t employees and the service now rendered is a ten fold turnaround. So if you were an unlucky victim of those third party hacks, try back soon and you’ll see a change of the way business with them is done. We did, and so, our venture with both At&t and Directv has been a marvelous one.
  • Not what they promise

    Signed up for one price, added a few more channels for an agreed upon up-charge. Somehow the bill was miraculously double the agreed upon charge. It had been a year of monthly hours long calls and disconnected service because they 1) can not charge us what they KNOW is the correct amount 2) can’t figure out how to send a bill to the right email( checked multiple times, they have the correct email but somehow can’t send send the bill) . Bundled with AT&T so that is a constant shuffling back and forth as to who it to blame. The latest is , almost since we started with Direct TV is has taken multiple tries to get a signal when we turn on TV. They claimed it was the tv not their equipment, tv company says “nope” and Direct TV finally admitted it is the receiver but if we want a working receiver we have to pay $75 for a technician to bring it out or $20 to pay for shipping. NO OTHER OPTIONS! So now we get to, need to try 50 clicks every time we try to turn on the TV, or reset it multiple times at the receiver or leave the tv on day and night. Yep, as soon as we can, DIRECT TV is gone. Unfortunately we have limited options in our area.

    I have had Direct TV since Sept. 2016, I just moved in May 2018 and I moved my service with me. I called yesterday to see when my 2yr. Contract was up and I was told May 2020. I was confused about this so I ask how is that when I got this contract I'm September 2016. She stated when I moved my service and got the wireless mini genes instead of the mini genes I had they put me into a new contract. First of all I was not notified about when I changed to wireless mini genes that this would happen. The installation tech is the one who suggested that I get the wireless mini genes. I told the Supervisor of retention that I was not told this and he said that they sent me and email regarding this. We then confirm my email address and that was an email address I set up for only At&t. I no longer have that email address. I ask did Direct TV send me something in the mail and he said "No they sent it by email and not by USPS mail. I ask to disconnect my service and he told me I will get charged for early termination. Now I'm screwed with this bill or if I disconnect the Early termination. I will take my chances and I disconnect my service. I will not let this rest. They are very dishonest.

    I am in the Select package and am so unhappy with the few channels that are in this package!!!!I don’t want all the products one are on several channels and reruns it makes it hard for people that CANNOT afford their entertainment package because of having to choose between medicines or tv!!!!I have been with you for many many years and this is option I cannot accept!!!Its to bad you don’t offer a Senior Citizen disabled package for people that only have tv to watch!!Some day Youll understand but till then I’ll continue to watch reruns and add because you are in for the money and I’m stuck with this Stupid Select package!!!apparently no one is Old disabled and on a low income!!!!!SoSAD Direct Tv you can do better!!!!We will stay with you and hope some day you’ll have a heart and have some program for older low income disabled people!!!!Till then God be with you !!!Money isn’t everything!!!BUT I DO lOVE DIRECT TV

    This app is very useful especially if you are an individual using AT&T mobile services. It allows you to stream your Directv channels away from home and it works most of the time. One of the best features of this app is the ability to download and/or stream any recorded shows/programs that are on the receiver at home from about anywhere there’s a strong enough phone signal. With that being said, there are a few things that could improve; for instance, finding a way to be able to stream blacked out events (generally, as it’s not just a Directv and AT&T issue), and making it a smoother experience to stream recorded shows and programs as there’s a tendency for it to take a while before loading the contents. Overall this app is very useful especially considering how important we (consumers) think it is to be able to access a service we are paying for outside of our home.

    Ive been a directv customer for almost 2 yrs and have using this app for over a year. Tried to use the app recently and it started to load and then screen flashed a couple of times while the twirly thingy in the middle of the screen says logging in and then a pop up error message appeared stating “unknown error”. Clicked okay button and takes you directly to the App Store to download attuverse. Using the latest updated version of this app and currently up to date with iOS. directv app will no longer work on my device and after I deleted this app and then reinstalling it multiple times, it keeps sending me back to the App Store to download attuverse. I do not have at&t and attuverse does not recognize my directv account. So why am I being asked to download attuverse if I’m a directv customer? Once my 2 yr contract is up which will be within the next 6 months, I’m dumping directv and going back to my local cable company. I’m done with directv and their uneducated customer service employees and never working equipment. FIX YOUR STUPID APP DIRECTV!

    There is supposed to be a feature where you can download shows to your phone so that you can watch them away from home without using data, however that feature doesn’t actually work. Any show I attempt to download get stuck in the “waiting to prepare” stage, whether auto-prepare is off or on, and never ends up actually preparing for download, and thus never downloads. So it watch anything away from home I have to use data, but the amount of data this app uses to stream video is astronomical compared to other streaming apps and will end up eating about 12 gigs of data in about a week of streaming just one hour long show per day (which is my entire monthly plan)... So basically this app only works if you are in your own home on your network WiFi, but if I’m at home I’m just going to watch my recordings on my TV and not on my phone, so this app is completely useless. If I could give it zero stars I would. And before you suggest to me to reboot my phone, or uninstall the app and reinstall it again, I have already done those things multiple times.
