App Reviews

  • What am I paying for??!

This is unbelievable! I can’t believe I am actually being charged for a service that is unusable. I pay monthly for an ad-free Pandora experience. Despite the minor hiccups, I’ve been relatively happy with this app for the past few years. However, with the most recent update, it no longer functions correctly. I have even taken a screencast to show that I’m not crazy or making it up. First, I have to open the app, which automatically freezes. So then I have to swipe out and open again. Then, after a song starts playing, it will suddenly stop like 30 seconds in. Don’t even try connecting to Bluetooth in your car or you’ll be one distracted driver trying to get it play just one song. If I also try to simultaneously use another app, as I have been doing for many years prior, it will now automatically stop playing. What is with these developers who don’t test out the updates before releasing them to the public and losing many LOYAL customers in return?? I am very frustrated and need this issue to be addressed immediately (for a road trip I’m taking) or I will find another radio music app worth my time and money! Ps- My phone and app have all the most recent updates and I have had no other issues with any other app. Previous Review: Love it! I use Pandora every single day. My only gripe is that I wish we could like/dislike songs on the lock screen without having to unlock the phone each time. Other than that, it's a wonderful app that I'm glad to have :-)

I always loved this service and before I was a paying customer, I was a regular subscriber since 2007 and I did love it but there are too many problems with it now! It is constantly buffering, it says it’s playing, the meter shows the music is on and it’s in play status but the problem is there’s nothing coming out! There is no communication between what we hear and what the machine says that we’re supposed to hear and I’m saying everything that the previous person reviewed is exactly how I feel and if this does not fix itself soon, I’m Leaving! I had to now delete the app as per Pandora’s help instructions and my stations and everything else has to be redone! Sometimes I put on gospel music from my coworker that I play with her once a week and once it comes on for some unknown reason I cannot get gospel off and it keeps going into my playlist although the station is the selected and I have close the app hit save and hit shuffle and I cannot get rid of it. Maybe that’s Interventional. Previous Review: I'm surprised to see how the music is chosen for variety. I pay for it, but the optional features are very good.i love Todays Comedy Radio station however, I seem to hear the same bits. So I hit skip a lot. Maybe you can add some variety.

I love pandora. It’s about 90% of how I listen to music. I have the Premium subscription too. So I make good use of it. The biggest complaint I have about the premium version, though, is that if I want to look at my stations, I can click the “stations” filter but it won’t give me any sort options. I believe it defaults to recently listened. But I have a LOT of stations. And sometimes I want to find a particular one. It becomes really hard to quickly find something when I haven’t listened to it in a while. If I could sort my stations alphabetically, it would vastly improve the experience. Alphabetical sort is an option on the subscription one level down. Why should I have to downgrade to get what should be a standard feature? It’s backwards. The other thing I wish was an option was the ability to view my subscription details through the app. I do most everything on my phone or tablet through apps. If I want to look at my subscription info, I have to go to the website (the app only shows what kind of account I have). But the mobile (phone web browser version) website just redirects me to the app. So the only way I can see or change or update subscription info is to find a computer to use, which is inconvenient.

Pandora is smart with assuming what music relates to my chosen bands. They are a little narrow in their offerings from any individual band. For example, if choose a “station” called Supertramp I heat Supertramp’s greatest hits over and over again, which is fine, but if I choose a station based on a specific band, it is safe to assume I like more than just their most popular songs. I should hear their entire catalog. If I choose a genre-based station it is okay to play just hits from various bands in that genre, but if I pick a specific band, Pandora should be smart enough to realize I want everything from that band, not just their hit songs. I also have a frequent connectivity issue. I live in a rural area where it is not uncommon to lose cellular coverage and subsequently my Pandora feed. No problem, I understand this is unavoidable. The problem is that when I regain cellular connectivity Pandora often will not reboot. About half the time I have to turn my phone completely off to get Pandora to restart. This is not safe when I am driving so I either have to pull over or live without Pandora until I get to my destination. I have an iPhone 6s with Apple CarPlay in my vehicle. I love Pandora except for these two issues. Thanks, Mike Kingsley

I listen to Ryan Farish radio on Pandora Plus everyday. So relaxing. It has become an addiction. I connect it to my car audio via Bluetooth on the iPhone app and play it on Roku TV while reading, surfing the net and relaxing. I listen to Pandora more than I watch TV. It has a great selection of new age/trance instrumental artists like Ryan Farish (of course), 7 and 5, and Deosil. It throws in some classical, soft jazz, and EDM for variety. Even my bunny likes it! I tried Premium but went back down to Plus. I don’t skip much because it plays most of the music I like that has a thumbs up. I also just like to listen to the music randomly. Most of the songs and artists I like most, could not be replayed or added to playlist on Premium anyways due to licensing. Which is ridiculous considering you’re paying the extra money that should cover this. Another downside is the replay/back button won’t work in the car. I can skip forward using the car’s track button on the steering wheel, but back to replay the song won’t work, especially if the song cannot be replayed because of licensing. I also found the Premium app too confusing. Other than that, love this music. Could listen to it forever.

Constantly goes offline when I have plenty of service. Now it won’t play the songs on my playlists. I select a song and it chooses a random song from the same playlist. I have premium yet your licensing restrictions require that a lot of the songs I like require to be listened to on the radio part of the app. What’s the point of paying for premium? I’d rather deal with ads. I listen to this app while I’m driving and now with our distracted driving laws in my state this app makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get it working if it starts wigging out on me. The offline playlists literally play crap music and only play like four songs. When you go back into service it chooses a playlist for you instead of resuming what you had going in the first place. This app is a total waste of money for premium and a total waste of time and effort for commuters without premium. Like if I want to listen to a song over, sure I will listen to an ad but don’t prompt me 7 times about premium before letting me rewind like seriously how am I supposed to listen and drive when the app is asking you 20 freaking questions. Stop making things more of an effort than they need to be. The other day I selected a song and it started randomly playing other songs on that playlist but then immediately choosing another and another and so on. My songs were on a literal shuffle. Get your life together pandora.

Allow me start off with how much I utilize Pandora. I have had a Pandora account for at least 8 years. But recently I have purchased the Pandora Premium account. I loved the idea of downloading music to listen to later and I have my own personal music list. I loved the idea of the “Offline” feature as well. But recently I have ran into a few issues. 1 of them being when I switch the offline due to being in an airplane... it only allows me to listen to SOME of the songs even though I have downloaded them. When I go to click on the song it states that it is not allowed for playbacks. 🧐 Sooooo... why was able to download it if I can’t replay it?? 2. Then I was listening to my songs with WiFi and it was telling me that I can’t listen to the songs because they are not allowed for playbacks... so no matter what.... you allowed me to feel like I was given the opportunity to have the song on my playlist BUT I can’t listen to it?? 3. You are able to listen to a lot of songs. You can search for a lot of songs. You can discover new songs.... but you can NOT download a lot of these songs... so my conclusion is... deal with the lack of skips, commercials and keep the free option because it’s not worth what they charge. Very disappointing.
  • Two stars for what Pandora once was...

I’ve been a fairly long time user of Pandora One. The poor performance of this app is almost making me consider leaving them for online radio. First and foremost, here recently the app has been real garbage. Every time I open it it’s either wanting me to sign into Facebook, or sign up for the higher Pandora service. To me that’s a bit insulting as a person that already pays for Pandora One. There aren’t supposed to be ads, and I certainly don’t want to sign into Facebook on Pandora. Here recently it’s been terrible about audio playback too. For example, the other day if I’d switch to another app or if my phone would go to sleep Pandora would quit playing music. An uninstall and reinstall of the app did fix this. Another issue I’ve been having is sometime I’ll get a notification from another app, the music volume turns down for said notification, but then it doesn’t turn the music back up after, making me close the app and reopen it. One other complaint I have is if I pause the music, the app sometimes just plain seems to forget once I hit play if I spent too long on pause. In order to get music to play again I have to go and reopen the Pandora app. Often times whatever song I was enjoying is no longer there. Really discontent with the quality here recently.
  • Needs updating

I love pandora. I usually have it playing most the day every day. There are just a couple things I wish they would change- 1) when you thumbs down a song, I wish they would give you the option of thumbs downing the song OR thumbs downing the artist. Because in all honesty, I'm not thrilled with having Taylor Swift and Pink pop up and play songs on my CCR and Purple Lace stations. 2) can they give us the option of deleting the variety added on stations? I added a variety song to my station because I really liked the song, but then it completely changed the chemistry of the station and now I'm getting some seriously weird and unrelated stuff on there. And deleting the station and making a new one to restart doesn't work. [[EDIT- I don't know if it was an update or my blind eyes finally noticing, but I can now edit my stations! Thanks Pandora! You just earned an extra star. 😉]] Other than that, there isn't much that I don't like about pandora. They've got some great songs that are great for the stations I've created. And I love that they give me the option of earning some replays and skips. I would give them 5 stars if they could change those two options from above.

Ive moved over, or supposedly up 2 the great I Phone status. Mostly because of an offer and my daughter needed one. But i admit its much better than the ones i had prior. But as expected they cater or offer apps namely music apps of their benefit. I sort of stayed away from the P dora not wanting to feel like a traitor. But somehow your app popped up, and being fm Hawaii. I just gotta have some island/ jawaiian style MsiK! Where the opposite of Orange mSk aPp was clueless and kept showin me empty searches. Dora like the cartoon girl, always lookin for answers n solutions does. Has the MsiK i need like mY psychological/mental fix. U even had all the muSik i had right where me left them. So where Apple has its benefits it offers its customers, which is actually nice. And i see your app has become a little lesss freer. Oh wells. Capitalism. Makes the true potential of man a sick cripple. Its also the pace car that got us here. Kinda drive the donkey gorward, funny that word came out Al Goreward. Or more honestly. Downward. But thank you from a Hawaiian muSik addict. Haha, cuzz i luvs me some local vibes. And it just started playin my Fav Song just about, of all my Life. Safe and Sound - Rebellution.
