About DeerCast

Developer Description

Get ahead of your game by harnessing over seventy years of Mark and Terry Drury’s whitetail hunting expertise along with hour by hour real-time, algorithm-driven deer movement forecasts for your precise location with the new Drury Outdoors DeerCast app. DeerCast combines your local weather information with the distinct characteristics of each of the THIRTEEN phases of whitetail season to deliver a custom forecast for peak deer activity where you hunt. Down to the hour, on whatever piece of ground you specify, this groundbreaking algorithm interprets 11 key conditions that Mark and Terry have identified as crucial to deer movement. They’ve cracked the code for deer movement and exported it from their heads and into this app to help you become a better hunter. DeerCast is also your hub for Mossy Oak & DODTV content, a hefty collection logging in over 20,000 minutes of adrenaline-fueled hunt footage. The Mossy Oak team is joining forces with Drury Outdoors to deliver content in the news feed portion of the app. For the first time ever, watch the DOD team’s actual hunts and see video of buck kills as they happen during the season. Interact with DOD team members in ways like never before and submit photos from your hunts that could be featured on Drury Outdoors social media! Get educated with more in-depth, how-to content than ever before and be entertained with every shred of DODTV at your fingertips, including exclusive content only on the app. If that weren’t enough, we’re also giving you complete access to the Drury Outdoors video vault. Watch titles all the way back to 1989 with access to the entire DOD video library.

App Reviews

  • Great app from Drury Team! Experts at their craft

This app gives you a great algorithm. Most apps like this give you info based off the moon phases only or from the farmers almanac. This combines all of them plus live weather factors to help determine your best times to hit the woods. If your more than just a weekend warrior you know weather has more to do with deer movement than anything else. This app is fantastic!
  • Great App!

This app is great but it needs just one thing. They need to invert the barometer and the temperature. “When the pressure and the temperature meet bucks will be on their feet” so we need to need to see when the temperature drops and the pressure are coming together. If it remains the way it is you have pressure going up on top and the temperature going down on the bottom. Other than that I really like the app.
  • Accurate forecast!

DeerCast is a great app! The predictive algorithms appear to be dead on. I decided to see how accurate it was today. Went out after work. Got to the stand at 6pm (sunset 6:45) in the 45 minutes I saw multiple does and a couple small bucks. I would have filled my doe tag if she had just moved 10 paces to the right!
  • Good looking app

It’s new and deer season is a month away here in Tennessee. I will put it to use this year and make sure to keep notes about how accurate it is. I also make a trip to Ohio every year to hunt the rut and will see if it does just as good in other locations. I will come back and update in January of 2019 after season is over. Giving a 4 star now based on what I have seen so far.
  • This app is great

Only thing I would ask that they add are previous dates, so that when we’re checking trail cams we can compare it to the rating the algorithm gave it that day. Also with that we would be able to see past pressures and other information readily at our fingertips.
  • Accurate Hunting App

    By JP13136
Drury Outdoors has revolutionized the weather prediction for serious archery hunters. This app is very accurate when it comes down to the weather. I can’t wait to see how well it works during the season. If it’s is anything like the weather side, it will be spot on.
  • Problematic but new

    By beargryills1806
Very glitchy but as to be expected with an new app but it has logged me out a few times and has not allowed me to log back in for a while and their videos have no sound for me? My volume is on and mute is off so I’m not sure if it’s the app or my phone but I am looking forward to seeing the app progress!
  • Really Solid App

    By Ashford2017
Really solid app so far. I will say the push notifications are a little annoying. The content provided is well above anything else in regards to the quality and organization.
  • No Sound on Videos

    By buckslayer3108
Overall, the app is great and i’ve used it to my advantage multiple times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The only problem i’m finding is the videos play with no sound at all. i can never get it to work. Using an iphone 8

So glad to have an app like this. They have literally thought of everything that we as hunters need so we can plan out our hunts. We all wanted something like this and now it is finally here! Great job, Drury Boys!!
