  • If EA made Pokémon Go

    By Smwilkin
I am a huge fan of the Ghostbusters franchise, so I was very excited to play. However, after a few days I am noticing a large pay wall. The ghosts you catch in the world are all certain types, but if you want to find the rarer dark/light ghosts, you need batteries for your goggles (in-game currency 1). Once you have the ghosts, you need to power them up and rank them up to complete missions which takes P.K.E. crystals, slime shards, coins and elemental shards (in-game currency 2-5). The ranking system also makes no sense as a 3 star “S” ghost has way worse stats than one you get by using the Ecto Goggles. There is an RPG element which is fine, but boring. The arena is okay, but when you get to high silver you will run into no one but whales who have all super rare ghosts maxed out. In addition to the ghost powering up, you will also have to level up your weapons which costs coins and takes time—which can of course be sped up for gems (in-game currency 6). The main issue here is its complexity and currency issues. The tutorial doesn’t explain much, and the help guide is still not helpful. Beyond those issues, the thing that enrages me is the Ecto-goggles. Having to pay for batteries to get access to certain ghosts is ridiculous. Could be an amazing game, but becomes pay to win trash pretty quick.
  • Lots of fun but ....

    By Nicki103180
Downloaded this game at my boyfriend’s suggestion. I love being able to capture ghosts and battle them. I have two issues however with the game, so I am debating not playing because of this. 1- I feel like I capture the same ghosts all the time. Besides work and church, I don’t get out much as my job and family do take up a lot of my time. That being said, I feel like there should be more variety of ghosts available to capture even at your frequently visited locations. 2- The game is really complex in some aspects like collecting element shards and runes? Even after the tutorials I’m still not really sure what I’m supposed to be doing with these?! All in all, it’s a lot of fun to play but if you want something that is mindless entertainment this might not be the game for you?
  • Very unresponsive

    By repbatman
Ok so let me dumb down by saying this game is way more fun than pokemon go. This is what pokego should have been. That saying. I really hope they fix how unresponsive the buttons are. You cant do anything quick. With firing and reloading. Sometimes it just wont fire after pressing five times. Or wont reload. And this ruins the mini boss fights because this is how you are to counter their attacks before they kill you. So you can spam the fire button but sometimes it just wont fire. Most irritating thing so far. I literally would not have written a review had i not had this problem constantly. Please fix this. Im tired of losing because of a unresponsive game then i have to save up ammo all over again because of the game and not the operator. Its ridiculous.
  • Great Game but...

    By PhantomSlayer29
I absolutely love this game, you can tell loads of hard work and effort went into making this for fans of the Ghostbusters Franchise but the only downside to this is bugs and glitches like this one bug I have been getting where every time I load into the game and the ghost appears, it freezes them to one side of my phone’s screen and then the ghost just floats off right at the start of the game and then a message pops up that they escaped before I even had a chance to blast them. Please try to fix some of these bugs like the one I have been getting whenever you get the time and may I just say thank you for taking the time to read this.
  • Great game with big problems

    By Ender2155
Downloaded this day one and had a complete blast until it crashed when I got to the third mission level. I tried reinstalling the app and doing everything I could to fix it to no avail. I contacted support, and they were quick to reply, but none of their ideas fixed the problem, and they never responded to my email to them. Today, I figured out the problem; logging in with Facebook causes it to crash, but using Game Center (and presumably Gmail, I haven’t tried) launches it like normal. So I’m happy I get to play again with a different login, but I’m annoyed I have to start all over. Granted I wasn’t that far in, but it’s a few hours I have to replay through. Aside from that, I love the game and hope they fix the Facebook issue so I can start back where I was.
  • It’s still pretty new... Could be better

    By Yogosapphire79
I downloaded the game thinking it would probably consume about the same space as Pokémon Go, and it was pretty shocking to see that it took nearly 2 gigs of space from my phone 🤯. Of course, that might almost be tolerable if I could keep more ghosts in my containment unit until I decide which ones I really want to keep. It would probably also help if there were some way I could earn gems as I don’t spend real money on fake items unless I find enough value in the experience they’d provide. Long story short, I’ll probably delete the game soon. I’m just not sure it’s worth the space of six or more other games on my limited iPhone memory.
  • Love !!

    By Filbe77
Ok first off ! I love this game being a original diehard GB fan it took me back to wanting to be a ghostbuster as a kid.. the only problems I have come across are finding different ghosts seems no matter where I go its the same ghosts.. Second after I close the game out I can not open the folder my games are in. I have to completely restart my phone (IOS) huge pain in the ghost if you catch my drift... So could someone please look into to this and see if its IOS bug with the game.. Other than that keep up the Busting!
  • Still not ready?

    By SpoiledReBelle
After preordering I get a notice that it’s ready to download... I download the game which takes 1.7 GB.... GB!.. of storage space! I launch the game only to get a message that it’ll be in maintenance for a whole day! Now that it’s finally online the game crashes constantly! I was however able to catch a few ghosts and see a bit of the game enough to give it two stars which I will be happy to change when it stops crashing and I can finally play without the sudden interruption of the game crashing. There is a lot to do in this app but I have yet to fully explore due to the crashes...the AR is nice in combination with catching the ghosts... makes you really feel like you have to hunt the ghost down ... I will change/ update the review when I am able to explore more Update: I was able to explore a little more and would have changed the rating however, in order to update my proton pack I would have to do research... the game crashes, probably 95% of the time, when I tap the research button... go figure...
  • Cool concept, still lots of bugs

    By Oros cloudspeaker
When I first download the game it was very buggy, I let a go for a week and most of the bugs had been fixed, but now their is only one bug that’s a problem and makes the game hard to play, it relays on the tilt motion of the phone to turn, cool idea but the problem is I can be holding the phone still in my hands it will still spin my character around, making it hard to play, this should only be featured in the AR setting not in the animated world. Overall cool game, but buggy as crap
  • Worth a look

    By Angst24601
The good: innovative blend of AR and third person strategy/combat. The bad: no documentation, many micro transactions, many glitches, no customer support or feedback mechanisms except these reviews. The awful: boss spawns seem to be intentionally placed in the worst locations and are few and far between. People are sometimes driving to reach them, which is game breaking. They must double the boss spawn locations at a minimum or the game is dead. Also, the gates are placed in the worst locations including within government buildings you can’t access. They can easily fix this issue by doubling a player’s engagement radius but I have my doubts they are listening to players at all about any of this. Conclusion: worth a look, especially by other developers who can do much better and improve on some of the innovations. Players should try it then run away until they fix some of the many flaws, especially the scarcity of boss spawns.
