  • This game WAS perfect, until now.

    By Minecraft_runner9
I’ve had my iPhone X for quite a while now, ever since it came out. And recently, I was in the market to try some new games. I stumbled upon this game and I fell in love! It was fun, addicting, and straight to the point. It was so fun, I purchased the Ad-Free version because I loved the game so much for what it was. In the game, you get 3 chances to get the ball into the hole, and you had the option of watching an ad for a 4th attempt. I had no problem with this because there are plenty of times in the game where you’ll need another go. HOWEVER, in the recent update, they brought it down to 2 strokes to make it in and you have to watch a video to get a 3rd attempt. It alters the game play so much because now you have limited chance of winning. And while it may not seem like much, it seems greedy to make people watch an irrelevant video about a game they’ll never play to attempt to sink it in the hole on a 3rd try when it was standard before. Those who have played it will understand. I hope they patch this in a future update but for now, as subtle as an adjustment as it was, it stripped away my will to play and it isn’t as enjoyable as it was just a few days ago. Aside from that, the game is absurdly fun with a fair amount of challenge!
  • Good, could be better.

Apparently, I got this app after the notorious update that has other gamers upset. Therefore, I can only review this based on a post-update point of view. First, yes, there are plenty of ads - one at the end of every round after you lose and one to gain an “extra ball” or a “second chance.” However, this game is not good enough to be worth paying $2.99 just to remove the ads at the end of every round. With that said, the game is entertaining enough to pass the time and I’ve played quite a bit. My high score right now is 309, which took a lot of playing to get to that. My biggest issue with gameplay is that keeping a hole-in-one streak is guaranteed to end with either a terribly placed key, or a bird with a very short back and forth flight pattern while hovering directly over a key or the hole itself. Hitting the bird should change the ball’s trajectory, NOT take the ball (along with one of two shots) away. My only suggestion to the developers would be to bring back the pre-update version and have it as a “Normal” play selection on the home screen, with the current version labeled as “Hard” or “Advanced.”
  • “Minor fixes” update ruined the game.

    By ninjsidon
I honestly and wholeheartedly loved this game when I first downloaded it. It was fun, simple, had vibrations that simulated real golf, and most of all it was a one touch game. You had three shots to get it into the hole, and the only complication was getting new skins which was voluntary. Then they had to put on some “minor fixes” and the game is ruined. First and foremost, they took away and entire shot, making it near impossible to beat any high score or even have the relaxing gameplay one touch games are supposed to have. On top of that, giant flying birds that you have to avoid and if you hit them it takes away a shot, on top of the already lessened amount we have. Not to mention that the bird is just an advertisement for another game in which the bird is the main character! Lastly is those stupid keys. You have to get a key (which usually takes at least one shot, sometimes two) and then you have to get the putt with one shot, or maybe you just lose without even going for the hole. This game used to be amazing and I played it for hours every day, but they have ruined it in favor of an ad filled, terrible version of a great game. DO NOT RECOMMEND, THIS GAME IS RUINED!
  • WAS my favorite game on the iPhone

    By ferrier72
A couple weeks ago before they updated the game, I literally played this for hours every day because it was so addicting. It was such a relaxing and entertaining game. Now that it has been updated, this game is one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Before, you had 3 balls before you lost. Now, you only have two. They added red birds flying that most of the time get hit with one of the balls, meaning you basically lost because some of the maps are too hard to make with just one ball. They also added a key you have to hit to unlock the hole. A lot of the times, the key is in places where they are wanting you to lose one ball. You then only get one chance to hit the hole. Sometimes, there is a key and a bird, meaning it’s almost impossible to hit the hole. I can understand if they were trying to make the game more challenging but it is really just more annoying than anything. I’d pay money for the game if I could get the old version back. They have lost a lot of people from doing this dumb update. RIP to my favorite game.
  • Good game that is now broken because of updates

    By Soccarp
When I first downloaded the game, I was surprised to find that there were very few ads, only popping up once you ended your game. I felt like this was a great use of ads, as it didn’t distract from the game. However, an update added a lot more ads, popping up after a few holes. It really took the fun out of the game. They added balls that you could earn, but that took a guaranteed shot away from you, possibly ruining your run. But some people like that stuff so I was fine with it. This last update, ruins the game. I had to actually look up the update notes, which feel like a lie. These “minor bug fixes” take away a shot from you (you had three, and now you have two). This makes a huge difference, as three was a perfect number for casual gameplay, allowing you to make a mistake or two. They’ve also added birds, which I stupidly thought would earn me a free shot if I hit it...nope. I hate that I had to delete this game, but I doubt a company that made these decisions will revert them. Don’t download and stop giving four stars
  • Was a good game, but they made it bad

    By Skipper2399
The game was fun. I played it quite a bit. It was just a simple game that I could play for about ten minutes while waiting for my next class to start, but I hadn’t played it for a few days and I come back and the game is just worse. Mainly. They took away the third ball. It made sense having the three ball system where you could watch an ad to keep going if you felt the need to. But the game has been ruined because if you don’t nail your first shot and it goes off the back, you have to get a hole in one and some holes that’s pretty difficult. And then you can choose to watch an ad to keep going. Absolutely not. I was fine watching ads after every game. It was annoying but I understood, hey it’s a free game so it’s fine, but to make your game worse to force people to watch more ads is just stupid. Anyway, you just lost a player. You took a simple game that could pass the time and turned it into a way where you can just force people to watch more and more ads. No thanks.
  • Really bro is spot on!

    By sschoenick
Minor fixes? “Really bro?” nailed it with his review: This was a great game that has been ruined by the addition of these “features” that only massively away from the relaxing fun this game used to provide. And, the third ball? I have to watch an ad to get the third ball, AND I PAID TO HAVE ADS REMOVED!! It seems that in their greedy quest to make more money, the developers have forgotten why people play one-touch games in the first place— simplicity! Now, I have to avoid birds and unlock holes in two shots? Seriously, bro?? While I’m at it, a warning to anyone thinking about buying the game (but, why would you want to?) The money I gladly paid to rid the game of ads worked only for a single device, and I’m not given the option to pay the money again on my phone, even if I wanted to. This was a rare, 5-start game that got everything right in the earlier version— graphics, sound, gameplay were all terrific. If you want my advice, put it back to the earlier version and then knock yourself out with Infinity “Golf 2.” As it is now, it’s off my list, what a shame!
  • WAS addicted but not a fan of the new updates

    By BReidley
The game was great when I first got it. You had 3 attempts to get the ball in the hole and you could rack up a high score and play one “round” for several minutes. With the update that only gives you two strokes limits your ability to obtain a high score which is frustrating. My score of 488 will never be touched in this new version. Also getting consecutive holes in one is the key to getting a high score. In the new version there is a new lock icon you have to hit with the ball to unlock the hole. They are often put in places where it is impossible to hit the lock and make it in the hole in the same shot which ruins your multiplier (which also changed). It seems like it’s a deliberate attempt to keep your score low. I don’t mind the birds because it makes it challenging but not impossible. Also like the new balls and skins but the ads to take a 3rd shot and the other things mentioned above have just about ruined this game for me. If it is corrected I would love to give this game 5 stars.
  • More ads with new update

    By jechick
I don’t usually write reviews, but I loved this game. I recently updated it... you used to get 3 chances to make a shot, now you only get 2, and if you miss after two... you watch an ad. They have the option to add a third ball... if you watch an ad. Or to get a “second chance...” if you watch a 30 second ad. It also used to straight up just be shooting the ball. Now, they added a strange flying bird that if you hit it, it takes away your ball, so now you only have one shot to make it until you watch an ad... that is, unless they put the flying bird AND a lock over the hole. YEAH. A lock over the hole that you need to hit a key icon with with your ball in order to open up the hole. Basically if you 1) hit the bird and 2) hit the key to open up the hole... YOU ARE LEFT WITH NO MORE BALLS AND YOU NEED TO WATCH AN AD. You picking up what I’m putting down? Yeah this is ridiculous. I get you need to make money but you won’t be making any from me now that I’m going to delete this app from my phone. What a shame.
  • The latest update ruined it

    By SuprK1
Let me start off by reviewing the game before the latest update, and then I'll go over that. The game was great. It was fun, simple, and the only problem was that you couldn't rotate the screen. Not much more to it than that, it's pretty simple. And now the update. The good thing that the update added was unlockable balls. You could unlock new skins for your ball. I think the way that worked was great. Unfortunately, there were other things. They added birds. When you hit them, you get a point. But, it puts your ball back where it started. It stops the ball midair. And it doesn't give you that ball back. That means that hitting the bird is ALWAYS mathematically speaking, a bad choice. They added locks. Sometimes you'll have to hit the key to open the hole. Once again, a good concept, but pulled off badly. I played a level in which the key was right next to the start, and a bird was basically puppy guarding the hole. Given that they changed it so that you only have two balls now, not three, it would take one turn to hit the key, and the other to hit the bird, and none left to get it in the hole. Those could be so easy to fix, but as they are, it really makes it worse. If those are fixed, it'd be a great game.
