This is because you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We will help you download and install MYmta on your computer in 4 simple steps below:

The importance of the emulator is that it emulates or immitates an android environment on your computer, making it super easy to install and run android apps from the comfort of your PC without buying a phone that runs android. Who says you cannot enjoy both worlds? To begin, you can download such an emulator app made by too top dogs in the space.
A. Nox App . OR

If you successfully downloaded the Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe, go to your Downloads folder on your computer or anywhere you ususally store downloaded files.
Once you have find it, click it to install the application. It should start the installation process on your PC.
Click Next to accept the EULA License agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application.
If you do the above correctly, the Software will be successfully installed.

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and locate the search bar. Now type MYmta in the search bar and hit Search. You will easily see the app. Click on MYmta application icon. A window of MYmta will open and it will display the app in your Emulator Software. Hit the Install button and your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.

App Reviews

  • Two steps forward, one step backward

It is great to have to check just one app for all of MTA’s services. However, one of my biggest complaints is that this app is fairly useless for the bus. BusTime has a great interface to see which stops exist on a line and then you can also see other buses which stop there. In this app, the stops don’t even show up at all and it tells me I need to enable location services to see “nearby” stops. I just want to see all the stops like in BusTime! Additionally, the train times for commuter rail like LIRR seem less accurate than the TrainTime app and there is never any track information. Overall, the app has potential, but I would not recommend it in the current state for anything other than subway travel.
  • Decent but bus section could use improvement.

Checking for trains is easy. But buses are useless for me because it asks for the buses route number instead of just giving me a list of the buses in my area like the train section does. I don’t see the point of this since nobody I know, knows a buses route number only the letter and number (Q32 for example). I tried typing that as a route and it said it was wrong and I can’t find these route numbers online either. I’ve had to resort to using my QR reader to find info for the bus I need at the stop instead of just being able to look it up from my house or on my way to the stop.
  • Totally useless

Doesn’t seem to understand the concept of an LIRR trip with transfers. The list doesn’t show you when the first train actually leaves, only the connection, but the trip Duration only shows the length of the first segment. It includes trips where you’d have to wait an hour for a connection, when you could just take the next train 30 minutes later and still make the same connecting train — you don’t actually know this until you click through to the details, though, and you can’t judge by the duration since it’s wrong. All I want is a clean, compact list of departure and arrival times for this trip over the next few hours, and it doesn’t come close to doing that. Does anyone at the MTA actually try to use this app before publishing it? Utterly useless.
  • A welcoming app from the MTA!

    By Dusting1995
Before this app, I had to use several different apps to access the status of the subway and LIRR, maps of the subway and railroad, LIRR departure times, and a trip planner. The MTA has finally put all these services into one app and I’m so great-full. I can now see train times, the status on my lines, a map, and plan a trip. It still has some issues but it is only the beta release and hopefully will fix those. If you live in NYC and rely on the MTA this app is a must. Makes commuting much easier
  • HUGE help when visiting NYC!

    By BStPete
This app was a life saver. Not only does it tell you which train or bus to take but it gives you lots of details and a map. Tells you how many stops and the name of the stops. Which helps you ensure you did get on the right train. It gives you walking directions when you get off the subway to reach your destination! I cannot say enough good about this app. If you are visiting NYC you must download this app!!!
  • Train departure sorting

    By saymylastname
The next train departing on a particular line should show instead of alphabetic or numeric order. Penn station the C and A are on two different platforms going uptown. When I open the station it shows ACE in that order instead of CAE if the C is next to arrive, or EAC if the E is next to arrive. This helps to know which train is going to Columbus circle or Times Square next most quickly when having to make a quick decision of which platform to stand on.
  • App is great but two minor annoyances and one suggestion

    By Amir-Hassan
I love the app, however I wish it could a) show the track number for LIRR instead of having to use train time and b) when changing a leaving by/arrive by time to move the save button to the right side like where it is in every other app. My one suggestion is to integrate the features of all the other MTA apps like train time and eTix into this app so there aren’t a bunch of different apps for everything
  • Nice!

Why not making a metro card that can be register with this app and the person info, like that the person can re-load the card over the app instead of waiting in line. And make the metro card be available for both metro north and regular train and instead of sliding the card on the subway, buses and purchasing a metro north card why not making one that can use NFC.. I hope I make sense
  • Could use some more work

    By (^_^)Nattie~<3
The loading screen takes a while to load, and is then too long (the time it takes to tap the app and wait for it to actually load up, the train you were supposed to be on already came and left, with you standing right next to it.) And now recently it started foreclosing on me or the screen will go dark. Also I’ve found faster options on my own (E to the 6 at Lex/53 instead of E to the R at Queens Plz) yet you always suggest this only route or extra $$ for the SBS or far rockaway line, or the incredibly inconvenient F. Either way, could use more transit destination options.
  • A great help in my morning commute!

    By Abctrd
I'm so glad I can finally get information on train and bus times without downloading more than one app! The real time arrival times and easy to find data on delays and scheduled construction are a game changer; I can check MyMTA as I leave the house and plan my commute, rather than walking all the way to the subway station just to find that the train is down. Now if only they could incorporate ETix into the app, rather than just linking to it...
