App Reviews

  • Welcome to 2018 Spirit

    By mermerr
I have to admit that the fact that Spirit didn’t have an app was a minor inconvenience (though they still did online check in), but now. WOW. We are living in the future ladies and gentlemen! This app is easy to use, and truly an inspiration. I will now try to live my life as simple, and as mediocre as this app. Because does it go above and beyond? No. Does it fulfill all your hopes and dreams? Also no. HOWEVER, can you check in to a flight with almost no hassle? YES! You may also be wondering “but it’s 2018, pretty much all plane companies have had apps for years” and to this I respond: some great things, like the Incredibles 2, take years to perfect. So I ask you people, do you want to keep checking in to your flight at the airport like an animal or do you want to join us in the future with this app that does no more but no less than what is expected?
  • Where is a 0 Star rating when you need it? An insult to one star apps

I don’t understand how there are those people with recent reviews saying the app works because as of 12 May 2018 it doesn’t at all. The app doesn’t recognize my name for checkin saying my information is incorrect where I know for a fact that it works online. The fact that the app asks for more information about the person for checkin is also questionable. Online all you need is your last name and your confirmation number and this app asks for your first name last name if not your email. I had my parent book me the flight so I was thinking that maybe his information messed up my login but nope it’s just trash and the app doesn’t do anything. So if the developer isn’t going to truly address these issues before adding all the “promising” new features I would not at all recommend this app. It just makes your life a million times harder opposite of its purpose. Just go find a printer somewhere so that you can ensure you get on the plane since I’m not sure you can print for free at the airport.
  • Disappointed

I’ve downloaded and used this app last month with no problem. I was happy and impressed that Spirit joined the century and created an app like all the other major airlines. This sentiment quickly changed today while trying to check into my flight via the same app that I used prior. There is clearly a problem with the app and when I called for help I was told that they (spirit) doesn’t have any tech support for the app. The representative went on to say you have to be a club member to use the app. Keep in mind I’m not a member and used the app last month without any issues annnd that error message that I’m getting has nothing to do with membership. The representative then asks me to screenshot my error message and someone will print me a Boarding pass at no charge. This is just unacceptable staff should be made away of app issues. From these reviews it doesn’t seem like this is a new occurrence. This trip will be the LAST time I fly Spirit or suggest it the airline to a Friend.
  • Do Not Sign In First

Apparently the app only works if you do not login first. I logged in and it loaded nothing from my account even though I can clearly see it when I login to the website. I see a bunch of people saying the same thing so I decided to log out and try as if I was a new customer. That seemed to work just fine although it doesn’t make any sense. If I have an account you would think I need to login first and that everything transfers from online to the app. Well it doesn’t. So I recommend not logging in on the app and using your name and confirmation number. Once I did that, it pulled up my passes. Since I don’t trust Spirit, I would also recommend adding them to your apple wallet instead because it seems like sometimes the passes show up in the app and sometimes they don’t. Hopefully they’ll fix the app because it seems to be more of a headache then a convenience. I’ve already deleted it and it’s only been 10 minutes that I’ve had it.
  • Worthless App

This app is a major joke, and I wish there was a way to give negative stars, because I would. This app is supposed to make it seamless for travelers for to check-in and obtain their boarding passes, however the app doesn’t even work. I have tried signing out and back in and even re-installing the app, and still nothing. Literally, nothing — it doesn’t show my bookings at all after I log on or try to click on any of the functions. All of the responses from the app developer is the same canned garbage: “so sorry for the issues! We’re working on it!” How about instead of a fake apology, you refund the money I am going to have to now pay to have your agents print off my family’s boarding passes? I agree with some of the other reviewers— this is just a money making scheme from the company. Even Allegiant can get their stuff together enough to give their customers a working app. This was our first, and now last flight with this airline.
  • Worst app ever!

    By Bcolling82
If I could give this app zero stars I would. I used it twice this summer for different flights and it caused me nothing but problems. One one flight I had a transfer...I deboarded the plane to get lunch before boarding again. When I went to pull up my boarding pass again at the gate it was gone! I asked the attendant what happened to my pass and she said “Oh that happens if you open the app too much.”. What?!?! She had to print me a new boarding pass. On my next trip I was unable to check in using the app because it could not find my reservation. Tech support said to uninstall and reinstall, that did not work...I had to have my hotel print off my boarding pass and check me in. Both times using the apps it also gave false information saying my flights were delayed when they weren’t. Don’t use this app, save yourself the stress on your vacation.
  • Doesn’t work. One more way they rip you off.

    By DrLabgirl
Unless you can print your boarding pass at your hotel or want to pay $10 at the airport kiosk, you are out of luck. The app doesn’t work, just as many others have pointed out. Their “app support” directs you to their general airline customer service, who are only able to troubleshoot the app by suggesting you uninstall/reinstall. Nope. Still doesn’t work. I can only assume that they purposely don’t fix the app so they can get an extra $10 per passenger out of travelers who have no options to print once they are away from home. For them to advertise this as an option prior to booking tickets, but to not actually work when you need it, sounds a little fraudulent. If anyone starts a class action law suit, please contact me! I want my money back! Just one more reason I’ll never fly Spirit again.
  • Worst airline ever

    By genna2009
I also fly this airline as a last resort! I’ve only flown on them twice both times a nightmare and I fly 6-8 times a year. Last time I used them was from Florida to st. Thomas we paid for premium when we went to board they made us wait with no explanation finally they told us our seat was broken...so they were busy duck taping it to an upright position. They would not refund the dollars only offered a credit if we flew on spirit within 60 days. This time we made reservations and to change from paying for carryon to checked baggage. We aid $70 for carryons you can’t delete or modify on the website. In the end we paid $190. For baggage. They would not refund any of the carryon they wasn’t used just offered a credit tone used on spirit within 60 days. They are not a discount they are a rip-off airline!
  • Wish I could give 0 stars

I downloaded this app just so I could rate the company. If this app is anything like the company, I’m sure you’re in for some hidden trickery and gouging of some sort. If you try to change your flight to the available flight a few hours later (months in advance), they try to charge you more than the ticket cost to change. When you buy another departure flight to replace the first, they cancel your return flight without telling you, try to charge you to buy new tickets for your return on that day. No apology by the service rep or explanation why that is policy. Only offers to assist me in purchasing a new flight 7 hours later. F that. I wish I could give you 0 stars for being the worst company ever. How does a company like this still exist.
  • Serves its purpose

    By Hdkalnend
The purpose of this app is to check in easily and acquire a mobile boarding pass. I was able to do this seamlessly using the app and had no issues getting the mobile boarding pass, adding it to my wallet and using it at the airport. Only reason I’m taking off a star is because although my flight was at 4pm the notification I kept getting said 5pm. This is really quite trivial as the actual mobile boarding pass had the appropriate boarding time of 4pm and you should know what time your flight is, but it could catch you off guard if you’re not paying attention.
