App Reviews

  • 5 star company, 1 star UNSAFE app 👎🏼🚫

    By JoshObermeyer
I usually drive in the evenings and night time. There are a few features I love about the app, but by the end of the night I am frustrated with my eyes hurting because of the extremely bright UI that has absolutely no option for a dark mode or night time mode. I turn my brightness down, but then when I switch to Uber while using their amazing dark mode, the brightness is way too dark and I have to keep adjusting the brightness back and forth. Such a hassle, and extremely dangerous while driving. The app should offer the safest possible UI for day AND night driving. The app also has glitched many, many times when trying to accept rides once they pop up, which has resulted in missing some all together. Whenever I zoom out on the map to see the city view, and then click to relocate my exact position, the app no longer follows my location in live time and keeps me distracted while driving as I have to constantly click to find my location again to see where I am going. Navigation is absolutely horrendous as it doesn’t give you turn-by-turn or street names/distances as you are coming up on your next exit or turn. Overall, the app requires WAY too much user interaction, and in return is entirely DANGEROUS to drive with. I spend more time dealing with the app than I do being able to watch the road. 👎🏼🚫
  • Too many glitches

    By abroham018
I’ve been noticing the Lyft Driver app have various glitches over the past week. Sometimes whenever I get a request and I click to accept, the app freezes with the request tone still playing in the background. When I force quit the app and open it back up, I end up loosing the ride even though I clicked to accept it. Also, I use Google Maps integrated with the Lyft app to use as my navigation, when I’m on my way to pick up a rider the navigation sometimes doesn’t know my current location so than it begins to reroute me to a road I’m not on and confuses me on getting to the rider, this also happens during a ride, the navigation just gets lost and does not know where I am, I get rerouted and sometimes it affects my ratings due to poor navigation. Finally, just recently a rider admitted to taking advantage of a glitch the app has been having for the longest. The rider said during Prime Time the rider force quits and reinstalls the Lyft rider app to avoid having to pay the Prime Time percentage, the rider noted that this method has to be done multiple times, most of those times doesn’t work but it’s definitely an issue because if a rider isn’t paying the Prime Time price than the driver wouldn’t be receiving either. Please take this feedback considerably, thank you. Happy Lyfting!
  • There needs to be a Lyft driver app for iPad

    By lyftdriver13
Their competition offers a driver app for the iPad. The large screen is a huge safety improvement. There are some nice mounts available to use the otherwise useless cd slot to mount an iPad as a control center in the car. While we are the subject of rating the app, the latest version works poorly with Bluetooth, and the volume levels out of the iPhone speakers are unpredictable. Some times you can hear them, other times barely. It’s not the volume control on the phone that is down, it’s in the app. I’m glad that they integrated Google maps right into the app, unfortunately the map often sends me to the alley behind buildings rather than the street address, which reads right. At the end of the day when I log out the app asks me to rate it, but there is no space to comment on what went wrong, just a star rating. Overall, the developers need to get to work and made major improvements. Thus my 3 star rating, which would get me fired if my customers all thought as badly about my service as I do about this app.
  • Simply Horrible

    By are you kidding me
First off the app works horribly. It freezes all time. Seriously has issues with its directions. Kinda weird that anytime I get a ride request it’s either 5 minutes in the opposite direction....right from where I just came from. Or it waits till I’m in a turn lane and gives me a ride request that involves me turning the opposite direction. I’ve literally sat next to my girlfriend and had my driver app on and had her request a ride and a lot of the times the ride goes to someone else. They claim the ride goes to the closest Lyft Driver and that’s simply a lie. When you er close to your bonus they suddenly start giving you less rides or only rides that are seriously far away so you have to waste time. Also they let you know if a ride is 45 minutes or more but if a ride is 35-40 minutes they don’t tell you. Why not? I’ve had to cancel rides because of I go a half hour away that’s an hour round trip and I didn’t have the time for it. There are seriously a million ways to improve not only the way this company works but the actual app as well. You can make money but you better be ready to have the app on everyday from morning till late night.
  • Terrible.

    By Iamkthomas1996
So I downloaded this app because I wanted toMake a little extra money and it was a quick way to do so. I heard good things so I applied I gave them my insuranceAnd picture of my registration sticker, it took 20 times submitting my insurance, I emailed their support team and they finally got to push through. Then in order to be fully verified you have to have a background check. I then emailed them because it had been a couple days and I hadn’t heard anything back. After I emailed them they deleted my account. And then when I tried to login it said There is no account associated with that email, or my phone number. I will not be recommending lift to anyone, I will look somewhere else if need be. Also I will be going in leaving a review on the Better Business Bureau page for your company. A person shouldn’t have to endure all this BS, just for their account to be deleted by your company. I still have all the emails and the pictures I sent you guys to prove that this story is not fake too so you guys won’t be able to deny what happened . You definitely lost my business.

The app is lacking in letting us know where people are going before we pick them up unless you’re at platinum level, which is silly. Because of this, I actually had to risk fines by taking someone to LAX before my permit has come in the mail (which, by the way, it’s been weeks). I didn’t know they were going to LAX before they got in my car, and the idea of kicking them out once they already had their luggage in my trunk felt unthinkable. The Shell has rewards still haven’t kicked in and I was supposed to have received that almost three weeks ago. On top of this, the app can be more user friendly by letting us see pick up and drop off addresses all the time. I can’t drive safely and be clicking back between Waze, passenger info, etc. On the plus side, I appreciate the bonuses and the streak challenges. I like the layout of the dashboard, and I love seeing all of my earnings, tips, and bonuses laid out.
  • Destroy your car to make Money for Lyft!

    By ganer290
The other reviews regarding driver compensation is completely accurate. You’ll put hundreds of miles on your car for a few bucks, which you will have to pay back into your car for future repairs. I drove over 400 miles in a day and made just over $100. Do some rough math and you’ll find out quickly it’s not worth the miles and damage placed on your car. The riders damage your car and leave smells in the seats. I have a brand new car from the factory, no one had even test drove the car before me. Now I’m at the car wash having the seats professionally shampooed ($50) and the Odor is still present. In the end I made a $100 from Lyft, paid $30 in gas and $50 to try and remove the odor from my seats, that leaves me with $30 profit for 13 hours of work. I care a lot about my car as I’m sure other people do who buy a new car, protect your car don’t let Lyft ruin your investment. If Lyft deactivates my account based on this review, I welcome it. Please prove my point by deactivating my account LYFT!
  • Terrible experience with this company!!! / Это компания может вас обмануть, не связывайтесь с ними.

    By Potato Punk
More in my life I will not go to work for this company as a driver. Once I got into an accident and «LYFT» promised to repair my car using their, f**** «York» insurance, but as it turned out $ 2,000 would be deducted from the repair amount $ 7,000. That is, my insurance could cover everything without a single cost on my part, but since I worked in the "LYFT" this is not considered their insurance case. It's very much $ 2500 from your pocket. And they are talking about some care for the drivers? I do not want to know them any more, they decepting at every step. . . . . .
  • User friendly but needs improvement

    By EL Rey del Ca0s
App interfaces pretty well and is simple, which is good for driving, but they REALLY should have an option for landscape view. Once you’re online you’re basically just tapping the screen when prompted, so there’s not really any scrolling or navigating menus. I prefer landscape view for maps and in order to do that I have to switch back and forth between Lyft and Google Maps. Also, it would be nice if their in-app navigation had a night mode like Google Maps does. Should be simple since its powered by Google maps. I drive some dark roads in suburban and occasionally rural areas, dark colors would make it much easier to watch the sides of the road while still being able to read street names and distances. Dimming the screen and turning on Night Shift make it hard to read, and you still have a white light facing you.
  • Lyft is broken

    By coatednumber08
Lyft does not give accurate mapping when you except a ride so if your in a parking lot that you don’t know it’s difficult to turn out in the right direction. There is no costumer service in the app and it’s difficult to find a number to talk to someone. When you want to report something you have to go through a menu. the menu has drop down tabs and sub categories. If your issue does not fit the criteria for these pre-conceived issues you can’t report it... which I have had 6 of with no way to resolve. The mapping is off when picking people up. If a address is near another street it will tell you to go near the location which is often times not acceptable. You will be forced to drive for no pay to the location once it is apparent that the rout they gave you is impossible. If you use Lyft as a driver I would urge you to only use it for its promotional value as the problems are not worth the effort. Ps because of the app issue I had a 4.0 on Lyft but Uber I had a 5 star st 4.8 at 102 ratings 100 at 5 star 1 at 5 and 1 at 3 On Lyft I had like 35 ratings and I’m at a 4 star because of there screw ups. Pps: Lyft if you want to do better take less money/ percentage... pay the drivers more while you fix your company you will get more drive time. Which will equal the same profits with more positive reviews, not less negative but it will help you grow.
