App Reviews

  • Not great for city use

This may be great for OTR guys, but it has a tough time navigating in a big city. First- it doesn’t always automatically re-route when you have to detour due to construction/accident/other road closures. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Just pay attention when you intentionally go off its planned route. Second- I’ve had it plan some pretty strange routes from point-to-point in the city. The roads are truck legal, yes- BUT there are safer and easier ways around that are less direct. It should be set up to stay on “arterial” or main roads whenever possible to avoid driving down congested side streets that you can easily avoid. It’s not a bad app, but with some fine tuning it could be great! There’s nothing that’s going to make trucking a walk in the park, but this is a step in the right direction.

Firstly, it will put u on roads that clearly say no trucks. I also had one instance where it sent me down a route with a low bridge. And then I notice in GPS mode that it only stays in that mode for so long before it goes blank. It will show you what route to take but the guidance part of it such as what road to turn on next, goes away, so you have to restart the GPS. Looking forward to updates especially alternate route options. Another thing would be the option to submit updates such as the instance I had with the low bridge so that they are aware and it can be reviewed and corrected on the GPS. (Can we do that already?) The app has high moments but it hasn’t been very dependable thus far. Just a decent guide to use.

The theory of the app is there and works great, but it’s not versatile yet, only used for big 18 wheelers I would say... the company vehicle I drive is just a 10’ truck so I only need it to avoid specific low clearance roads, but it only allows me to go the 18 wheeler way even when ai adjusted my truck dimensions. I am going to a location 50 minutes away and was hoping this app would find the location and it might say it will take me 1 Hour and 10 minutes , and instead it is telling me 2 hours because it is thinking I am driving a monster of a truck. App has a lot of potential but I need to see improvements to make it worthwhile for me.
  • It’s good, but it can improve.

I think it needs an option for toll roads. It may have, but I don’t know how to use it. It shows the weigh stations, but not in real time or whether they’re open or not. Over all I like it. It hasn’t put me in down town traffic with a 53’ trailer. And that’s mostly what I was looking for. The other maps just assume you’re driving a Honda Accord and can go down every alley and turn anywhere.
  • Good, but can be better

A couple of things I’ve noticed, was that once a route is programmed it will not reroute. You have to cancel the route and re enter. It does not always give you voice guidance and the addresses may not be correct. I was traveling to a state park with my 5th wheel and it brought me to an apartment complex 23 miles from the state park. Twice I had to turn around in residential neighborhoods. I ended up using the iPhone map app and it worked fine.

As a 30 year driver I have seen a lot of change in this industry of ours and in those thirty years a lot of tools have come about to help truck drivers I have used a lot of these tools to my benefit but by far of all the gps nav systems I have used this one by far is the best. Give it a try and you too will be impressed I jackson 32 year driver

App is ok. Getting better with updates. During directions , it only tells you to exit way before the exit like miles away and does not repeat it again.
  • Wrong address twice in two days

Sometimes it leads you to the wrong place completely. It got the city right and maybe the same road but twice out of a hundred I would say it acts up. Once in a while this app just takes you where the address isn’t right... like I can’t understand how it even does it
  • Routing need a lot of improvement

First, the program offers one single route and no alternatives, not good! Usually gps programs offer three choices, one may be shorter and another may be longer but faster. Second, there is no Weigh Station status or truck stop parking availability. The program has a good start but still a long way from being helpful!
