Love the new audio feature which was my only qualm with the app not having! Thank you, thank you, thank you for listening! Might I suggest with a later update to add in a tap feature to choose there the audio begins reading? At this point it’s great to listen to while doing things, but things happen, life interrupts and you don’t always have the chance to pause it. Meaning you either miss whole big chunks or you have the restart the chapter all over again, which is annoying task with the longer chapters. Or sometimes you want to just skip to listen to a favorite part of the story. Also adding in a feature to will allow the audio to continue reading into another chapter, not just stop at the end(something that is great for the 100 word story told in snippet. I know the other app I use has an add play every three or so chapter which while distracting is tolerable to having to keep stopping and changing chapters.
  • Enjoyable, but There are Some Issues

    By GamerDroid 56
This app is my preferred way of reading stories from the site, but as other people have complained, when you look up stories you KNOW exist, it doesn’t always find them. I’ve had to find the fanfic, follow the story (even if I only check it intermittently) and find it from there. Notifications don’t always work either and I have to rely on email updates instead of push notifications. Now for the real teeth grinder. If you accidentally put two fingers on the screen (this include swiping a notification or just tapping it), the app ASSUMES that I’m trying to change the size of the text. Note that this typically happens when I’m scrolling through the text and causes me great frustration when I have to spend time getting it back to the exact font I want it to be in. Once these issues are fixed, I’ll come back to the app. Until then, I’ll keep using the website. At least THAT has very few bugs on it...
  • For a Reader: Very nice; for a Writer: Not useful

I enjoy the reading aspect of the app very much and prefer it to the mobile or desktop website experience. Nice features for fonts, font sizing, background colors that are easy on the eyes, scrolling, and screen timeout. I also enjoy that it can keep track of where I left off in all of the stories I'm reading. From a writing perspective it needs a lot of work. I was disappointed when I went to edit and found that it had lost all of my return breaks. That problem alone cost me time and effort going back to my laptop and re-editing the entire chapter. Not cool! This issue makes this part of the app not useful, which is frustrating. Also, I find it annoying that I have an icon to my PM box, but nothing is there - and I do have messages in my inbox on the website. Don't have options that are not functional across the entire platform. Again, not useful. When I receive an alert that I have a PM but can't get to it from my app that's annoying.
  • New update and old bugs

    By Stuffed bunnies
Hey, my name is Stephanie and I’ve been using this app for around a year and a half and I’m usually a very patient person. However I feel the new updates that this app has been going through reverses the experience of “updating” the app. Firstly, they added a voice reader feature that eliminates listening to music at the same time as reading, and that is insanely annoying. Secondly, chapters black out frequently so in the circumstance that I’m reading through a multi chapter book, I’d swipe for the next chapter and I’d just be black. Thirdly, the app DOENST save where I left off for multi-chaptered novels, somehow always reverting back to chapter one that it’s getting really annoying. At this point I’m thinking about using another app because not being able to listen to music while reading is the biggest deal breaker. Thanks for everything, but I liked the monkey type writer loading screens a lot better than the flipping book pages.
  • Pretty good. Just one problem.

    By Kachow.
Hello. I recently joined FF about maybe two weeks ago, and the stories are absolutely amazing. (At least for the fandom I read.) Anyway, I decided that I would start to write my own fan fiction. It’s pretty good so far, even though I’m only on chapter one. I was about to post my first chapter, until I looked at the preview... The preview looked nothing like what I had just written. There were no paragraph breaks, it was all clustered together, and I don’t write like that. It would be great if you could fix this problem, because I’m really looking forward to making tons of stories on here, but for me, it’s nearly impossible to do that without paragraph breaks. Btw, I don’t know if it’s the fact that I use an iPhone? I hope not, since I can’t really write on the computer... Other than that, I really enjoy this app. Please fix!
  • My Favorite App

    By sdorman
Honestly, I want to give this app only 4 stars, simply because of the fact that I can’t make the reading font smaller than the minimum 75% and that bugs me, but this app certainly deserves the 5 stars. Yes, I know that that issue is a very minor thing, but before I used this app for all of my Fanfiction needs I used the FF app made by PentaLoop, and I loved how the text size had virtually no maximum or minimum size, meaning I could fit so much more on my screen and it took a while longer before I had to scroll down in order to read more. Not that big of a deal, honestly, but I would absolutely love it if the minimum reading font was either removed or simply greatly lowered, and I don’t know where else to write this out to you.
  • Not very good for writing

    By Everyday Einstein
This app is great for reading stories. Being able to save stories for offline makes it nice to have for long rides, and it has a lot of features that make it much more comfortable to use than the website. On the other hand, writing can get very annoying. The editor doesn’t automatically scroll when you start a new line, and skips all the way to the start or end of the document when trying to move the cursor to a specific point. It also suddenly scrolls up several lines when starting a new paragraph. Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon. Finally, a request. Please allow UTF-8 characters in story documents. I have been trying to use symbols, but it removes them when the story is saved.
  • Good; Needs Improvement

    By わたしわあなたふわふわ!( ˊ̱˂˃ˋ̱ )
As far as the comparison between the website and the app, the app is a bit different than the website and it is hard to find things. Another thing for writers such as myself I find that needs improvement, is story covers. I have a story cover for a Fanfiction I am working on but I can’t seem to figure out if you can add a cover photo or not. :/ So far, there have been no findings of it. Overall, it’s a pretty good app but it needs and upgrade and some improvements here and there more of today’s reading/writing apps. The most improvement I think it needs, is to enable writers to add a cover photo from their gallery for their story.
  • Five Stars!

    By Myste_Skye
This is by far my favorite app. The library is amazing and extensive and being able to save stories to read is awesome. The text to speech function makes it five stars hands down. As a suggestion though I’d like to see a dictionary feature implemented so that we can fix the pronunciation of some words. It can drive me up the wall listening to the speaker mispronounce word after word in some stories. But being able to listen to my stories while I multitask is worth way more than any annoyances like that. UPDATE: A huge thank you to the app team for fixing the text to speech bug. You’ve made my week and your app a solid five stars.
  • Great but Flawed

    By NeneJPhilly
The app is great but there's two things I don't care for. One, I can't read my stories without it trying to edit it. I used to be able to see reviews & even read my own stories but now it only lets me edit. Also I cannot use different symbols when I upload chapters. It literally only lets me type/save letters/numbers/punctuation. There's no way for me to use page breaks on mobile (not that I know how to on website) so I need symbols so people don't think it's all one big block of text. Other than that, it's a great app and I will continue to use. EDIT: It's not letting me do anything! I can't add more content, I can't delete content, I can't even see my images! It's just that typing monkey! Please fix!
