  • Broken App???

UPDATE: My app got fixed, and the response team was very nice and replied to me in a timely and professional matter. I like using this app (hence the 3 stars) but I reported a mom on Sunday for mom shaming, and ever since then every time I write a status it disappears. Same with if I like or comment on a status. I don’t know why it started to do this AFTER I reported the other mother, but I never got anything (message or email) from Peanut saying I violated any terms. If it doesn’t get fixed, I’m just going to have to delete the app, which saddens me because I’ve been having some good conversations with other mothers in messages, but I would like to be able to write my own statuses and like/comment on others without my stuff disappearing. If anyone can please tell me how to fix this, it’d be greatly appreciated.

I really love this app. I think it is such a great concept and it can definitely be a 5 star rated app if a few things are worked on. I think that notifying you when you have a like or a comment on a post would be a great addition. I think the app should also have more of an area that encourages moms that are nearby each other to post so that we can actively see which moms are there to look for a friendship and not only advice. It is very hard to find friends as an adult and even harder when you have the responsibilities of a job and children. I think if you work a little more on connecting moms nearby each other who want to be connected, it would make it even better! It would also be nice if you can search by name to see if any friends are already on the app! Thank you for the wonderful app, I do love it!

There are tons of mamas in my area AND beyond my local zone. I was hoping to find moms close by... I’m busy and it’s nice to have a network of friends in proximity for so many reasons. The filters did nothing for my search... still only showed mama’s in far areas. Did not show moms I swiped down the next day like it said. Didn’t show moms with babies in the age range I filtered either. I wish there were more detailed search parameters... for example I’d love to search other moms with my interests and filter out other interests I’m not fond of. This would all be great... if I even got a response. I got one wave back out of hundreds and I can’t even see that person until I filter through the hundreds of moms again. Ain’t nobody got time for that.... which I’m pretty sure is what happened to all the other moms on this ghost town of an app, didn’t get responses, couldn’t see who did and their filters didn’t work so gave up and went back to doing what we do best... caring for our babies.

I don’t even know if this app actually works.I had a ton of waves that I did not send and I said six messages to six different women did not receive one response. Also, initially it was showing me mom is around my area and for three days in a row it was showing me mom super far from me (my filters were set up correctly.)Also, initially it was showing me mom’s around my area and for three days in a row it was showing me Moms super far from me. Even though it said it would bring me moms that I swiped down again it never did. I was actually super excited to be able to connect with other mothers in my area but this app has actually been very difficult to use and has caused me a lot of frustration. My profile had a lot of pictures 300 character bio and everything else required. I will not believe that in days of having it, waving at people and sending messages not one person interacted back.
  • Fun unique way to meet expectant and new Moms!

As a first time expectant Mom that relocated to a new city I have been eager to meet friends to share in this journey to Motherhood! I was incredibly excited to find the Peanut app as a way to connect with Moms!! The app is super easy to use and navigate and is a fun tool for finding others with similar interests to your own. Within the first week I had set up my first Peanut decaf coffee ‘date’ and within the second week we have exchanged several texts and gone to a prenatal class together. It’s wonderful having a new friend to navigate pregnancy with together!! I look forward to making more Peanut friends and spreading the word about this amazing app!!

I've only been using Peanut for about a week, but so far it's been great! It was recommended to me by another mom and while I was skeptical at first, (I don't usually do social media, no FB, Instagram, Twitter, etc), this is actually a great idea! Pros: Amazing idea, easy to use, profiles capture the important basics, tech team quick to respond as well as competent and helpful Cons: Difficult to figure out at first (Did I miss a tutorial? I know, it's in settings but I would have liked to see it upon entering the app. Also, what, exactly, is the difference between the "home" page and the "location" page?), can't search by immediate vicinity or "packs" (this would be awesome) Smthg I'd love to change/add: I'd love a way to sort the mom's I'd like to "say hey" to, vs. only being able to wave at them. I don't always have time to send a msg when I'm on, but I wish there was a way for me to put those mom's aside and go back to them when I have more time. So the jury is still out on whether or not the app will actually connect me with other moms (in a lasting/meaningful way), but so far so good :). Thanks Peanut team!
  • Effective app

I didn't have any mom friends and through Peanut I did meet some so I think it's a good effective app. Couple of things that can make it from good to great: 1) The typing is a bit tricky, often I can't insert/edit the middle of my message so I ended up delete all and retype everything. 2) The notification of new message is random and not reliable. 3) this could be my fault or that the app didn't make it clear: I didn't know until later that your wave is invisible to the moms who you've waived at unless they waive at you as well. This is definitely a game-changer and has made me wave more and as a result has connected me with more moms. But overall, I'm thankful to this app as it has improved my life as a new mom.

I think it has potential. But 1. Not always intuitive to use. Maybe more, or more obvious, tutorial features? 2. Chat is glitchy. That or people just truly never write me back after several back and forth messages where we’re clearly making plans? 2a. Related to the above - moms are hella busy. So it’d be nice to see when someone last logged in, then I’d know for sure if they’re trying to blow me off or just didn’t get my message. 3. Some filters beyond location would be nice. For example, I’m really looking for working moms to connect with, not because I have anything against SAHMs but because my time is differently limited and I want to find women who are more likely to be in the same position. I saw someone else mention a filter for single moms. 4. Forums or group chat platform? If there were a neighborhood chat or something that’d be another cool way to connect. You can’t always tell from profiles how you’re going to get along. 5. Message notifications aren’t consistent. I’m not ready to delete it yet but I’d definitely use it more if there were some improvements. I love the idea but end up feeling a little disappointed every time I open it which I’m pretty sure isn’t the point.
  • GREAT app but glitchy

I’ve met sooooo many fun mommas on this app, truly a life changer for friendships! The only things I don’t like about it include: not being able to see who waved at you UNLESS you also waved at them. Wish it had something like “here’s who waved to you today” and showed those people so you can decide to wave back at them or not. Also, the chat is glitchy in that when I send a chat sometimes it doesn’t include my emojis or include my whole text, it will cut off like 2 sentences in. Lastly, the notifications for it on my phone don’t show up, like it will pop up that I got a message but then it will disappear - like they don’t stay as a notification on your phone screen. Idk why! Other than those things, the app is a great thing!
  • Needs to be more intuitive and user friendly

Peanut pages is messy and so random. Have a search feature for mamas to find related posts. When sending a message the text box does not respond to touch 9/10 times to edit the message and easily, especially if you would like to make an edit in the middle of of message or beginning. Only have luck when the curser is at the end. Can you also add the feature of ppl who have said hello to you? Users can be easily missed due to the hidden wave until mutual setting, there should be s notifications that you have a new wave., remember this app is for mamas, we don’t have a ton of time to be online
