  • The wave and game is Rad, the surfer is not

    By Brandtbat1234
Ok, so this has been my DREAM GAME, incredible work and the waves look great the scoring is fun and the live aspect is so rad. Great work, but it needs a fee crucial apects to make it actually playable and addictive like real surf. 1. The controls are not very easy, sliding up and down is just the rotation of the board and whenever you think about doing a snap or air or even just going near the lip you just sink out the back which suucks so much when you want to pull off an air. 2. Theres no drive, theres no flow with the board and you go as slow as possible even with the fast boards i feel like as if the surfer is just sitting there on his/her back foot intentionally slowing the momentum sinking into the wave 3. Barreling, the tube is beautiful, the gracefulness of the ride, is not. Youll pull in and right as you think youre gonna make it out your surfer falls, bails, hits the tube wall or something even if your dead center and off the foamball. Please i fully support this game, this is the next best thing since Kelly slaters pro surfer but for IOS, incredible work, best waves ive seen. Just please make them ridable, you guys keep it up all love from San Clemente. 🤙🏼🤙🏼 yeww
  • Great gameplay with a buggy backend

    By MrMDanger
I really enjoyed playing this game. Feels very true to life and kept me wanting to progress. Two MAJOR problems with this app: 1. Ads cause the game to crash, prematurely ending “perfect storm”. 2. Not one item that I purchased with earned in game currency saved. In other words, I spent hours grinding until I could afford upgrades. When I finally spent on the upgrades, they were unavailable for use in my inventory. This is fully unacceptable, considering that people have the option to spend real money for credits to buy these things(Thankful I didn’t). I just can’t understand why a developer would put all that time forth programming excellent gameplay, and then do an obvious rush job while coding the store and ads. Do you not like money? That is how you drive people away from spending on your product. In fact, I was so offended that I wasted my time earning nothing that I promptly deleted the app.
  • Cool game!

    By Jimbugjuice
I’ll admit, controls seemed awkward & clunky at first, but I started getting used to them. Found the ads terribly annoying but they went away when I advanced to intermediate level, or when I signed up for an account. (They both happened at the same time so I’m not sure which did the trick.) I continued to struggle with controls until I purchased the long board and that slowed the turns down enough to really figure out the feel of the controls. Purchased the short board and now I’m on fire! The fun board you start off on is crap but I can control it with ease now. The physics of the game are pretty impressive to me, and I love that the waves aren’t static, the size and take off zone changes from set to set and with the wind/conditions. My only gripe is that the judges only seem to score turns. I can drop in under the lip, get super pitted, come flying out and boost a 10’ air reverse, land in the barrel, sneak out the doggie door, do a couple of foam climbs and score a 1.5 (tons of Shaka points but less than a 2 from the judges). If I drop in and just pack in as many turns as I can until the wave goes flat the judges will drop me a score in the excellent range... A nod to the terrible judging on the WCT perhaps?

I have had an iPhone since the very beginning but I have never really played games on my phone. This is my first review of an app ever, but I feel like it’s only right since I actually play this game. This game is super addicting! It definitely helps when there are no waves to shred in real life or whenever you have some time to kill. I can only see this app improving with future updates and I believe it will do just that. ***I give this app a solid 4 stars. I would give 5 but the only downside of this app is that the surf cams are based on live conditions! It’s an iPhone app...I appreciate the realization of the game but give me big waves! Or at least make a made up beach with a constant big swells.***
  • So much potential

    By Best game! :-D
Out of all the surfing games I’ve played, this one is best by a long shot. The controls are simple, yet take a lot of practice. And the visuals are pretty nice too. As a surfer myself, this game nails quite a few mechanics pretty well, and is real fun to mess around with. However, there is one bug that is making the game not as good: There is a glitch that causes you to lose all of your shells, and not have any shell count on your profile. I’m not sure how it started, but I logged on one time not being able earn shells, or spend shells on anything, even if it was free. If I try logging back in, the shell count will still be blank, keeping me from being able to do anything fun :(. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Really like the game 👍
  • Great gameplay and addicting competitive mode

    By Holie Moly
This game has put surf games back on the map. The graphics are great for a phone game, the gameplay is smooth and very responsive, and the competitive mode based on the real wls championship tour is genius! It's been a lot of fun playing this game, I just wish it could be taken to the next level. I think there is plenty of opportunity to improve the physics of the game and add more tricks to the list. Also the scoring system can be extremely unpredictable and not very realistic at times. I still recommend you give this game a try! Surf up! 🤙
  • Annoying ads even with a $2.99 per month subscription!!!

    By Are any nicknames left?
I love the actual game and would have given it five stars but even if you subscribe to the $2.99 a month frequent flyer deal you have to endure ads! It is ridiculous that there is apparently no way to stop having to suffer through ads! Unless this changes, my subscription will be cancelled and this game will be deleted from my phone. Besides the stupid ad situation, the game is beautiful and it is really cool being able to surf a wide variety of real life locations. Unfortunately, the inclusion of ads after purchasing a subscription ruins an otherwise amazing game. So incredibly disappointing and the manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves.
  • Great concept, horrible ad crashes

    By JadenCkast
First off let me say this is a wonderful concept and takes me back to the old Kelly Slater pro surfer on GameCube days. Unfortunately when the ads play and it goes to go back into the game to surf some more the game just freezes. I am forced to force close the app and restart the game. Please fix this issue ASAP and I will update this review. This will severely hamper any competitions that are planned and will garnish many more negative reviews from people. Which is why I’m hoping the devs see this and fix it ASAP as I want this game to succeed. Hope this helps. I give it a 3 Shaka review.
  • Great potential, horrible execution!

    By Axilleast
The game is appealing to surfers and no surfers’s very well designed and beautiful on an iPhone xs BUT their pricing and product estimation is just atrocious... As a programmer and engineer, I’m very much attuned to the development and release of well as the time and effort something demands to pull off as well as these guys did. What I simply cannot understand, or simply refuse to, is the fact they released this free of charge - initially - and then include a monthly subscription!!! Why developers think a monthly fee for something as relatively simple as this (compared to an mmrpg) would be a good idea is ridiculous!! Calculate a flat fee and end it!! Rethink your strategy guys...
  • Devs, Please Read!

    By Baron-Munchausen
I’ll up this rating to more stars once the forced ads are taken out and/or we’re given the option to purchase/remove ads. I’m really enjoying this game until the ads interrupt the mood. Also, way too much money grabbing going on here and gameplay seems shallow (pun intended). All can be improved upon, I believe. Graphics and some other elements are stellar. Also...subscription?! Really?! I’ll pay for the game itself, but I’m not subscribing...especially for this type of game. I’ve never seen any dev ask people to subscribe to a game like this. They need to seriously reconsider this horrible pay model. Deleting until there’s a change.
