About Alarmy - Alarm clock

Developer Description

■ "World's Most Annoying Alarm App, featured by Cnet, Gizmodo,Huffington post etc." ■ #1 in the category in 80 countries, including Germany, France, and South Korea. (Appstore) ■ Features "Photo Mode" (Get out of bed and take a picture of registered place to turn off alarm) ■ Also support "Shake Mode" (To turn off alarm, shake your phone), "Math problem mode" (To turn off alarm, solve the math problem) and "Memorize Game mode" ■ No more late mornings for you ■ How to turn off the alarm ? (Picture dismiss mode) - Register a place where you want to turn off the alarm. - When alarm starts ringing, you will have to go to the registered place and take a picture. e.g.) If bathroom is the registered place, wake up and take a picture of the bathroom. ■ Tip - good place to register : bathroom sink, front door, shelf, desk, specific object, far from bed - bad place to register : brightness changes frequently, close to your bed, cealing, floor - If the currently registered alarm picture is too easy or too difficult to turn off, please register a new place :) Alarmy (Sleep If U Can) is the innovative solution for those who just can’t seem to get up on time, even with an alarm clock. This app has been cleverly designed to force you to get out of bed. You set it up by registering a photo of an area or room in your house. Then once the alarm is set, the ONLY way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area. The World’s Most Annoying Alarm Dubbed as “the world’s most annoying alarm”, Alarmy has quickly become a favorite mobile app among users. It has been featured in Gizmodo, Cnet, and at Huffington Post, and is currently Number One in its category in 70 countries, including France, Germany, and South Korea. Users are truly enjoying this app and many have devised their own unique methods around the alarm’s requirements. For instance, you could register the foot of the bed as your location, then you would only need to wake up enough to take a pic of the foot of your bed and then go right back to sleep. Of course, this totally circumvents the whole purpose of the app but has become a fun pastime for many users. Works Better Than Other Alarm Clocks Other creative locations that users have come up with include the ceiling of their room, a nightstand, or the floor. If you’re more serious about really getting up on time, then how about registering the bathroom sink or an item in the kitchen? Though the app has sparked lots of interest and has proven to be really entertaining, it will definitely get you out of bed. If you absolutely MUST get up on time for an important appointment or job interview, then this would be the perfect solution.

I’m a 19 year old workaholic who also has severe mental health problems that cause me to oversleep ALL THE TIME. I have 2 jobs and one of them requires me to be up anywhere between 4:30-7 in the morning. I live an hour away from my other job and get off at 10 most nights meaning I don’t get home at 11, then pair that with sleeping issues so I don’t get to bed until 2 am most nights!! This app SAVED ME. The first time I used it I had to be up by 5:30, and with the plethora of annoying sounds to choose from I have been consistently jolted awake by this app and not been able to turn it off in my sleep which is FANTASTIC! My one and only disappointment was when I tried setting it to have me do math problems to turn it off. When I try to do the problems in the morning (I set it to have me do 5 problems) when I would answer the first one correctly, it did not switch to the second one or give me any option to do so. It just kept going off without giving me a chance to do the rest of the problems, making me delete the app just to turn it off. I’m going to have to switch it to scan a barcode and hopefully that works!! If you guys fixed that it would be an automatic 5 stars from me!! And the white noise feature is brilliant. Other than that one flaw I love this app!!

As a college student with insomnia (not related to college) and difficulties waking up, I am extremely satisfied with Alarmy! I have tried sooo many techniques, apps, and alarm clocks, all of which I’ve been able to either sleep through or turn off in my sleep within the first couple of weeks. I love that I can set as many alarms as I’d like for different occasions and that each alarm can have a unique alarm task. I have all of mine set for math problems at carrying difficulties, and it’s proven very beneficial in stimulating my brain so I don’t go back to sleep after simply taking a picture or pressing a button. Non-related to the alarm functions themselves, I absolutely love the screen emerging after wake up tasks have been successfully completed. Not only does it feature daily news, horoscope, and news widgets, but it also lists the day’s weather in comparison to the previous day. For example, if yesterday was sunny and 85 degrees, today’s reading might list the temperature as 77 and underneath would say, “8 degrees cooler than yesterday,” or, “rain showers on and off today. I have never seen this in any weather app, let alone an app in which meteorology is not the primary focus.

I don’t know what happened.. it used to work great no matter what. Silent mode and do not disturb would be on, and I would do other things on my phone after I set the alarm and it would go off no matter what.. the only restriction I ever found was closing out all apps after its set, which is understandable... but now all the sudden it’s not making any noise in the morning. I test it at night after a few late days to work from this happening.. and it works fine, with the silent switch on.. but morning comes and it just vibrates and sends a notification back to back literally every second or two.. so I wake up on my own and have a million notifications that it’s going off, but it’s not. What’s the deal?! Is the only way to use this now is by having the volume and calls available? I take no chances of someone interrupting my sleep! Response to developer: Thank you for getting back to me but I said originally that having it in silent mode AND do not disturb was never a problem in the past... is this because of an iOS update or something? I get calls at all times and really don’t want to have to be woke up by phone calls and texts just to be able to hear my alarm! I stopped the do not disturb but still switch the silent flip at night... guess I’ll have to go buy an old school alarm.. I don’t see a solution to this problem.
  • Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t.

Not sure what the deal is. I always keep the app running in the background, I always turn silent mode off when I set my iPhone X down to charge for the night, and I restart the app regularly. I tried to follow the instructions in the app’s info section, but actual results are ambiguous. The alarm goes off inconsistently, sometimes ringing, other times silent. I wear my apple watch to sleep to track heart rate and sleep data, and the watch always vibrates when the alarm goes off, but the iPhone X only sometimes rings. I had high expectations for this app given its great rating on the App Store, but it’s not dependable enough for me to trust right now as I’ve already been late to work and school a few times past due to its occasional failure to ring. For the developers, I see you’re very active in responding to reviews like these. I’ll do my best to provide you with information about my configuration that may help you replicate my observations. I appreciate your involvement and responsiveness, that’s what motivated me to leave this review. Thanks for working so diligently on this app, it makes life better for everyone.
  • Perfect for this night owl with an early morning job!

    By LRyR
My whole life I’ve been a night owl but I recently got a job that requires me to be there at 6 am! I was ok about getting up but unhappy about it. I started sleeping through more and more of my 12 alarms and showing up for work later and later. That and my SO was getting really annoyed at 12 alarms going off while he’s trying to sleep. I downloaded this planning to use the math one but saw they had a picture option instead and it works amazing! I uses picture of a vase in my kitchen so I literally have to get up and out of bed and into the kitchen to shut it off. And then it’s literally closer to the area I get ready than it is to the bed. The only thing that would make it better is an option to change how long you get from the alarm time to the time you have to take the picture by since it usually takes me longer than the current time to even get to the kitchen! Other than that total lifesaver! Thanks so much for the app!!!
  • When Working Well A+. However...

I initially thought this cool app changed my life: no more getting out of bed late, thinking ‘I’m up, I’m up!’ only to find myself 40 minutes late after dismissing several alarms. Alarmy changed all that, and I sang it’s praises to everyone with an iPhone. Solve math problems before taking your head off the pillow?! Shake the phone until you’re so annoyed you have no choice but to get up?! AND a white noise feature with different options of sound? An insomniac’s dream come true! Until my new best friend failed me. Miserably. It stopped making sounds, just shooting notifications on the home screen with no noise to accompany the messages. Now, when I just dismissed one alarm, two other alarms shut themselves off as well. Luckily I solved the math problems and didn’t need the others, but my dismay at seeing those extra alarms turn off in their own prompted me to write this review. When it’s working, it’s amazing!!! But if it’s not, let’s just say don’t rely on this app TOO much. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is!!!
  • Great for snooze button addicts

    By ScooterMcFly
For years I had to set 5-8 different alarms just to get up in the morning. I love this app!!! It gets me up after just one alarm. I love that this version allows you to wake up to play a memory game, which, though slightly incoherent as I wake up, I enjoy solving. Bonus is that it allows you to select songs from your music library. The music gets progressively louder the longer you keep from opening it and working on the solution or “mission.” If you don’t solve correctly, it will go off again, guaranteeing you don’t go back to sleep. Finally, I really like that it tells you, as you start to adjust to the time you want to wake up, how much time you have to sleep before the alarm goes off. It’s a good reminder to have when you’re getting only about 4-5 hours of sleep a night and you want to make sure you do get that much and not less. Highly recommend for anyone else who needs extra help getting up in the morning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hi, Im 13yrs old and I am NOT a morning person. I have a very hard time getting up in the morning. This app has helped me a lot. I have it set for 15min before the time I have to me out of bed. It makes me do three math problems and answer the correct answers before the alarm will turn off. You can of course choose different mind or body activities I just chose math. Until after I had this app downloaded I realised it also has "White noise" calming noises to listen to, to go to sleep. There are different choices I tend to listen to the Medium rain with thunder, you can set a time for the sound to play so it doesn't go all night. It shows you the weather, the news and topics you enjoy when you wake up. The only thing that personally doesn't bother me is that you have to have the app open in the background in order for the alarm to go off. Over all I truly enjoy this app and it is a great help to me so I strongly suggest you download it!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • I need an army to get me out of bed...

    By kaliedeskye
And so far, this app has been the next best thing to a big band armed militia. I use the alarm choice that makes you physically get out of bed, go to another spot in your house to take a photo. Just been using the quieter sounds but the persistent buzzing of the phone is annoying enough to get me to pay attention to it. If I’m extra exhausted from a really late night, unfortunately sometimes I will sleepily turn the sound down and just ignore the buzzing for a bit and still get up late. This is due to lack of self control however, and not a flaw in the app itself! I think all heavy sleepers and those who throw adult sized tantrums about getting out of bed in the morning should give Alarmy a shot! Just don’t forget to turn it off on the weekends or if you plan on sleeping in a home that isn’t your own! If you take photos that don’t match, Alarmy doesnt mind buzzing obnoxiously for several hours until you get it right.
  • Love/hate relationship

Alarmy has allowed me to set my life on track, especially when it comes to time management. I use it for everything! And I love it, except in the morning. I am one of the worst morning people ever and Alarmy gets the full view of that. It has helped me actually get up in the morning with the scanning of a barcode of something that isn’t necessarily movable from another room, or taking a picture of a piece of furniture that is too heavy for me to move. This way it makes sure I am up, awake (ish), and out of bed. And the make sure I’m actually awake alarm that can be programmed will really make sure that the message of YOU HAVE TO START YOUR DAY really sinks in. The only flaw in this app is that it’s an alarm that wakes me up... I like sleep okay?! But seriously, if you’re considering getting this app, think about the fact that there are quite a few ads so it is necessary to watch what you click on but other than that, this app is perfect for those who have trouble waking up or time management.
