  • I’m terrible at billiards anyhow...

    By AdamAnnihilated
I searched pool table to try to find a local spot with a pool table. It brought up a place in Logansville Georgia that sold pool tables, and a place in Breaton England that had a free pool table on Wednesday’s. Well, today is Wednesday, but I live in Louisville, Kentucky. So I don’t think I’ll make it before last call. I really hope that this app helps people to find exciting nightlife that they are looking for nearby. Some suggestions, there are a lot of repeat events for each category, that’s annoying. And then a news feed that is basically just the same as opening Facebook. For the feed, you should make it only people that you follow so you can choose to see who is talking about nightlife events in particular. And if a business has any details in their about section, or makes a post like “free pool tables on Wednesday” then hopefully only the nearby places will pop up. I would be surprised if a single bar in Louisville doesn’t have a single bit of info about a pool table on there pages. Anyway. Keep it up, hopefully this app lives up to its potential. Cheers!
  • Decent and Much Room for Improvement

    By ayeryn
I deleted the Facebook app and started using this a couple weeks ago because it’s pretty much the only thing I’m using FB for nowadays. It’s decent and a lot of room for improvement if this is a product the FB team plans on building and maintaining. 1) BUG: After the most recent update, the notification page won’t load. Going to the page in the app or clicking on a notification of an event would only lead me to the loading circle and a blank page 2) BUG: If I click on a venue to like go see more details the app crashes 3) Customization of notifications would be huge. This is something I would appreciate in FB itself as well. For instance, I don’t want the notification that says “your daily guide is ready to view” but to turn that off I’m turning off all notifications 4) The search can be further improved for sure. I’m not sure if this is an existing feature but can’t check because bug #2 lol. If you go to a venue and can see events at the venue or have notification settings for venues that would be great. I really hope this is not something the FB made and will just not maintain. I enjoyed using it for the most part so far
  • Meh, could be better

I liked the concept of this app to show local events. The problem was that my notifications for events stopped showing up under the normal Facebook App on my iPhone. I didn't get updates on FB and also couldn't view all comments posted in my friends' private events (I could see there were 6 comments in the preview, but when I clicked the string, they didn't all show all comments unless I was in the FB event app). Deleted the app since I'm not checking two apps for updates. I can see the logic behind having all your event notifications, personal and ones you subscribe to, all in the event app, but checking two apps to see if any friends posted in a private event (party, brunch, etc.) is too much work.
  • It’s got potential

Mostly all events are facebook events these days, but the interface has always been buried on mobile. I like what it does so far, and I’m sure it will improve with time. An app like this begs for an iPad specific interface though. It’s tragic this doesn’t have one. I hope you’ll consider adding one, with support for landscape, drag n drop, and multitasking. This app would be great for creating events on a nice big screen! You could expand support for calendars by adding a month view to help with event planning, etc. I get that this is probably very useful in a pinch from the phone, but I prefer to plan ahead whenever possible, so it would be nice to do that on a more comfortable screen.
  • Issues with the app and annoying features

    By MRS Zuly
Since I updated the app it has been giving me problems, it won’t allow me to delete and clear out the announcements for the events they just keep accumulating and I don’t like that I want to be able to clear them out once I see the details on each one of them and just leave whatever I’m interested in. Another issue is the fact that when I click on the event and want to open the map to see its location it gets wiped out and won’t open, it would just close the app and all details of the event. This has to be fixed soon otherwise is just a waste. Too bad I can’t just go back and use the older version.
  • Notification settings are limited

    By buddthomas
This app is exactly what I'm looking for, I needed an app for events outside of the facebook app. However, it sorely needs expanded notification settings. You have no control over whether events in your area show up in the badge app icon, and although I have banner notifications enabled, I have no control over which types of notifications get a banner. Options to help filter invites and event suggestions would really improve the quality of this app.
  • I love it!!

    By Dimondc
Having moved to NYC, this app is perfect! There is always something to do here if I want to. I hate the events section in the Facebook app because it’s hard to just get a clean list of all that is going on in the past few updates. My only issue, which isn’t the apps fault, is the spam that can occur. Once I say I’m interested or going to an event, some event creators will spam updates or advertise other updates giving me numerous notifications when I open the app.
  • Not updated normally

    By Saucyx2008
I use this to run my personal events for my business and see the posts from attendees and other events I’m going to. Since the most recent update the notifications do not load. It’s frustrating to constantly download the app, use it maybe twice, delete the app, keep it open until the notifications stop appearing just to do it all over again. There is no place to reach out to the developer and say “hey, update the app” or “there’s a problem.” Hope it’s resolved soon and not forgotten about.
  • The future is now!

    By tammeri
This app is something I’ve envisioned for years. It’s both a clean and focused interface and an immensely accurate map of real world events. I’m not a fan of Facebook (the website) at all, but this app makes me recognize the value of Facebook (the service) and is a great way to engage with the otherwise overwhelming number of local events in my major city.
  • Does not delete locations that have been out of business for years

    By Silverdrmd
I probably would have use this app if I hadn’t seen so many locations that have been out of business for years. It tells you that it’s going to be open at 10 o’clock today when it was closed a decade ago. They should be more accurate in their local locations one or two weeks would be forgiving but not restaurants or been closed for years
