App Reviews

  • Great for non vehicle enthusiasts

    By Stov_A_Dove
From the start I understood this was not the way to get into a vehicle for me. However since I’m a vehicle enthusiast (car guy) I had to check out the app and see what it was all about. My take: if you don’t know cars, want to try several prior to purchasing, have limited $ to put down and simply want something reliable to drive, this app has a competitive angle. If you’re like me and live, eat and breathe vehicles, you probably won’t find much of what you’re looking for on Fair. Think rental car grade vehicles that cannot be modified or accessorized beyond your basic bolt-ons. The only attractive vehicles I found were a Wrangler JK, and a Tacoma TRD. Each was over $500/mo with over $1K down. Seems to me I could do better searching on CL or EBay for private party vehicles of similar age/miles and have financing lined up through my own bank. I don’t care for the misleading example images. Example: for a Dodge Challenger, they show a photo of the 700 hp HellCat version, when you click on it to get more info, you can see actual images of the car listed and it’s a standard 5.7L Hemi version of the car. Again, something a non car person will not ever notice or care about. All in all, this is a simple way for average drivers to get educated about what they could get for their $.

I am currently having a terrible, terrible experience with this company. I discovered was given the incorrect car by the dealer after I noticed that the mileage reading didn’t match what was on the paperwork. After contacting Fair I was told to return the car and that I would receive my deposit in 5-10 days. After 10 days I had not received the payment so I contacted Fair who told me to contact my bank as it was an issue on their end. After lots of messaging (no phone number, no reply to emails) Fair finally admitted that they had never processed the fee. I was told that they would post a cheque in the mail and that it would be sent in the post and would be sent a tracking number. When that wasn’t sent I was told by the employee that he had been refused permission to send the cheque and that the money would instead be sent to my account. It’s now 28 days since I returned the car and still no sign of the money (over $1000) and no replies to any emails. Always ask for a transcript of any chats you have through the app as there is no way to save these conversations and this is not a trustworthy company. I have no idea if I will see this money again but at least I can save some others the stress of going through this. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!
  • Service is terrible and super unreliable

    By Ayoo peck
I have three weeks to find a car before I go to Arizona and I finally find a Jeep after a week of looking, I create a account and I am immediately declined and told I have to wait 30 days to reapply because they searched how much money I make using transunion but I am a professional dog trainer who is paid off the books. I have a very reliable job with very high pay. I was told that I can reapply in 30 days but I don’t plan on changing my career so how is it gonna help me at all reapplying in 30 days if nothing is going to change? Extremely unreliable and you took away my time, something that I can’t get back. Should make it mandatory for people to make a account before being able to browse because all you did was ruin my plans and hopes. Best of luck to this company, I hope they take initiative to actually try to work with me and fix this problem not make me wait 30 days that I don’t have. Update: My questions were answered with I don’t knows, what company can’t even answer there customers questions? That’s unreal. The only thing I was told if I don’t plan on changing my income then this might or might not be the same outcome, what kind of answer is that?! You guys got it going on, that’s for sure!!
  • Just love how easy this was

    By Dcunningham3483
I have somewhat bad credit. I had been denied at most places and the only place that would let me buy/lease a car would of ripped me off in interest. I had my down payment, make good money but I was hopeless. I tried this app as a fluke. I was like there’s no way in heck it’s that easy, but guess what folks it was. On Sunday I chose a car and was super excited at the hope of getting one. Early Monday they told me the dealership no longer had the car so I went back in and to my surprise the car I really wanted was there. Sent my request and 2 hours later I was told the car was mine. After work went to pick it up hoping I wasn’t being catfished and I wasn’t. She was just as beautiful as the pictures. Was probably one of the easiest things I’ve ever gotten online. I got a 2018 car, wow and for less than I would of gotten some cheap car from a cheap dealership that I didn’t really want. I would recommend this to everyone.
  • “Unfair” fair app

    By Dariyahm215
I would not recommend this car app. Initially, I loved the app and the various opportunities you had to select the car of your liking with affordable weekly and or monthly payments. Yet, when I returned one fair car( because of the size for uber), and tried to get another one, it would not let me back in the app. I filled out another application to get qualified for the use of fair, but was rejected based off of no plausible criteria. The name on the application was not even my actual name and it said that the reason for not pre-qualifying was that I did not meet the fair income level. Yet, nothing has changed for me financially and I still have the same job and am making the same income as to when I applied and was qualified for the first car that I got. They wanted me to send them my bank statements and pay stubs through the app, which I found very skeptical especially considering my brother, who drives Uber and rented a car from fair 2 weeks ago, did not have a job or income when being “pre-qualified” to use the app. I am very disappointed in the fair app as well as the representatives whom given me very poor assistance with this problem. I do not recommend this app for anyone.
  • App riddled with issues

    By alexsenn72314
I was super excited about this app, and was looking forward to getting a car through this app, until it came time to initiate an order. The issues started with not being able to link a bank account, credit card, or successfully use Apple Pay to place an order...and it just gets worse from there. I contacted customer support over the payment issue to which I received various replies such as, “just link a different card,” to “do you have sufficient funds available?” After restating that I was having issues with all forms of payment, and that I indeed had sufficient funds I got the same reply, “I’ve sent it to the engineering department. You’ll receive an email in 24 hours.” While checking back every 24-48 hours as to the status of my issue the app made me go through the sign up process a few times. Eventually I chatted with someone who said there are now multiple accounts, and they worked to delete all the duplicates. I was told to wait 24-48 hours, and then I should be able to sign back in and proceed. 48 hours later I sign in, and get a message that my email address can’t be verified because it belongs to another account. All of these issues have been going on since the end of June. It’s a great idea, but from my experience, is poorly executed.
  • Warning !!! Do not sign up for Fair insurance

    By cousins-in-ca
I have been a Fair customer for 3 months now. After initial hiccups I got the car. Two weeks had a situation where I needed to talk to insurance. I made the mistake of signing up for Fair provided insurance. Worst possible insurance partner and Fair has zero commitment to make things work with insurance partner. I have been getting run arounds for 2 weeks now but no resolution or success in connection with right person. Please stay away from Fair insurance. Based on my experience, I will recommend staying away from Fair. Fair as an organization is not ready to effectively service customers. I am always looking for disruptive businesses. Experience with Fair has been disappointing. Either they are growing too fast or lacking operational experience. In last two weeks I have tried to purchase two cars but not able to get through. First one was cancelled after 3 days of waiting (without any notification). Order just disappeared. When I reached out, I was told that dealer cancelled. But no one at Fair bothered to reach out to me. I decided to give them a second chance and placed another order. It’s been 4 days, everything went through but I car deliver us being pushed out every day. Instead of making car buying faster and transparent, Fair is making it worse (at least for now). I believe founding team has right intentions but they are trying to expand beyond their capacity. Waiting to see how many more days....
  • The future of buying cars!

    By ncaa76
I love this company, I’ve had the best experience and I highly recommend their services. Once Fair got my information via my drivers license, I was approved in Minutes. I pick the car I wanted and disclosed what my monthly would. In 24-48 hours a contract was sent over inside the app. I was also called by a rep to guide me through the process. Once the contacts were e-signed (No more than 8 pages) i set up a time to pick up the car from the dealer, showed my Drivers license and the car was washed with a full tank of gas and I was out the door. Even the sales rep who helped was blown away I could just come and pick up the car with no paperwork. I used to sell cars and i have to say this easily the best way to get a car, hands down. Best service on the market.

10,000 miles a year is definitely not enough. Plus they charge you .20 cents per mile you go over in that year period. That adds up. Its not worth it for a used car. Your better off saving some money and buying a used car with cash then paying 1000 down and still having to pay taxes and a first monthly payment. You can use that 1500 towards a used car that you get to keep with no monthly payments and no limit on mileage. In Los Angeles I drive 144 miles total everyday just to commute to and from work. STAY AWAY. I also contacted them to see how I can have them erase my data from there system. So far no response. Read the fine print before doing business with them. Also the pre selected photos are not the actual model of the car. Don't get suckered in. Swipe right. Follow up. I sent an email in regards to there response. I provided my phone number and asked them to call me. No response. No call. Nothing. Its been over a week. Poor customer service.
  • Red Flags!!

    By PogiStar69
So, the issue is once you are preapproved… Apparently take up to a week. However you already know the vehicle that you want. You already know what the vehicle is located. Fair and the dealership are supposed to coordinate a contract. Why on earth what is this app customer service team discourage you from reaching out to the dealerships to make sure that the vehicle identification number, the vehicle it self, and the sales team are in touch with FAIR are. This would be the only way to expedite and ensure that the vehicle that you want is the vehicle that you get and you’re not waiting for some person in Arizona have to care less about you to respond to their phone calls faxes and emails to make sure that you can grab the keys from the dealership where your car is located for days at a time… Without you being in it of course. Proceed with caution. Ask how long it will take for you to get your vehicle. Ask for the date you can expect pick up your vehicle after you make your start time.
