App Reviews

  • Incessant banner notification

Whenever my phone gets within range of my Apple TV, a banner notification appears to type on my phone keyboard. And it appears almost every time I interact with my Apple TV remote. Even when locked, my phone will buzz to indicate this banner notification. For some reason, you cannot change Remote app notifications in Settings. To be clear, this is happening all the time and not just when I have to type something on the Apple TV screen. This has been a bug for several months

We have 3 Apple TVs in the house. It is nice that the app can control all. Please include these chance to future updates. I Would like to see the future updates to include adding Volume control. I want to control to have the ability to turn off the the Apple TV from a different room. It current can however I can’t see what the screen says if I am in a different room.
  • Junk by Apple Standards

This app does not connect well at all. It works MOST of the time, but it’s an Apple app, connecting 2 Apple devices. Seamless connectivity is what this company is all about and something that should be ridiculously simple just does not work nearly as well as it should. Then, today, I update my app and it will not longer connect to my Apple TV 3 at all. It won’t even find it. Thanks Apple. Probably cause it’s an Apple TV 3 and they want me to buy a new one so they sent out an update to cause inconveniences...wait, Apple wouldn’t do that, would they?
  • Please Add Watch Support for Siri

    By Matthew Peterman
Please add watch support to this app and allow me to control my Apple TV from Apple Watch including Siri. While I like the functionality included with the built-in remote app of the Apple Watch, only this app support Siri and it doesn’t support the watch. I want to be able to do everything from the watch without having to find my Siri remote or use this app on iPhone / iPad.
  • Wish it had volume control

I really like using my iPhone has the remote control for my Apple TV. I only wish it had volume control like the actual remote does. I also noticed iOS version 12.0 looks like it has a built in Apple TV remote. I’m not sure if it comes with the keyboard or not. And does this built-in remote make the app obsolete? I only noticed it the last day or so
  • Does the basics

Great for the basics. I can navigate the tv, select, return home, etc. There is definitely room for increased functionality as some have pointed out (like volume control and enhanced Siri functions). I would say that that if you misplaced your remote, this does the job. For that reason I give it a 4.
  • Ugh! 😑👎🏾

Since this update, this app has a hard time finding my Apple TV 3 to where I have to unplug my Apple TV and reconnect for it to recognize the device. Also, the Search is very terrible! When I go to type in a search, all the characters are capitalized to where I have to select lowercase after typing in each character. I sure hope these issues are fixed, and hope that your not leaving Apple TV 3 users out in the cold!
  • App works pretty good

The application works pretty well but since I updated to the new iOS 12 the 10 second jump feature is no longer showing up on the app. Hopefully that will fix this the next release of this app

“Still Watching” should be a push notification you can click on your phone from the lock screen if you have the Apple TV remote app installed and paired.
  • Keyboard entry constantly requested at random

Latest version is a mess and has made this app a true annoyance when it used to be among the most useful apps on my iPhone. It constantly sends me alerts to enter text when there is no field to be filled on the Apple TV. Even disabling notifications has not fixed the issue. When using the app or the widget, the prompts still pop up within. Please fix this sloppy issue.
