App Reviews

  • Beware! Not as good as it looks.

Started using drop Feb 1st . Worked great 6 weeks or do. Then no credit for anything in a month. Mail sent to support, reply in a week (to long to reply in my opinion). Said I didnt have a linked card. I looked in the app and it was linked. I unlinked it, relinked. Got points a couple weeks, then stopped again. Mail to support, never got a reply. Tried to log into my bank account late one evening to pay a bill. Wrong pass account locked. I then received email telling me my account was locked and the last successful login attempt was earlier the same day! I had not logged in for about 2 weeks. I go to bank in person next morning. They investigated and showed me where my account had been logged into every day, same time, same IP address. I then closed that account. Opened new account, did not link drop for 7 days. Checked with bank and no logins were made at all in these 7 days. I then linked card again, and 7 days later checked at bank and my account had been logged in by the same IP, same time of the day as first account. Bank closed that account on me for safety. If the app actually worked I would only use a small burn account and keep just enough in it to cover things you can get drop points for, they had full access to my accounts.
  • Worst customer service

Yes, this app does really pay out, but there’s a lot of catches. For instance it’s been 3 weeks since I completed one offer and they still have my points as pending. ANYTIME you contact customer service they will IGNORE you unless you rant on Twitter or email them 1,000x. They send the same automated replies which are unhelpful and it would be more helpful if people actually read what your sending to them. I seriously don’t appreciate this. I once waited over a month before hearing back from someone and the only reason they answered was because I took to Twitter. And since Black Friday I’ve been waiting for a reply on their boosted points. They stated you’d get extra points for completing and never gave them. Now their trying to claim that the points listed were the extra points but it’s funny because I have earlier screenshots that show that’s what the points were even in October before Black Friday. So yea the app pays out and it’s a great way to make extra money WHEN IT WORKS! I would stay away from buying from one time offers because they take forever to post (3 weeks and going right now. If you buy Dunkin everyday great link up and earn quick-ish. But just beware if you ever run into any problems it’ll be a hassle and sometimes points are too...
  • Suspicious practices

I can’t say this will be the case for everyone, but my experience with Drop points to suspicious business practices. I added several credit cards and started accumulating points after I made purchases and opted into offers. But when I tried to redeem those points, the app kept giving me a vague error to try again later. I finally contacted Support, and they told me that my account was “flagged” because one of my linked cards was a business card. Not true - I don’t have any business credit cards. I’ve asked them which one of my cards they believe is a business card, and all of a sudden, they went dark. Awesome. They will let you link as many cards as you want and spend as much as you want, but will only inform you of being “flagged” when you try to redeem your points and ask why it’s not working. And there is no response when you ask them to justify/clarify why your account is flagged. UPDATE: I sent them another email following their instructions in the email below. Yes, they did respond with another “we’re looking into it” email, but after over a month since I reported the issue, there is still no update. And they still do not respond to any of my emails. I’ll be closing my account.

So I like this app for the most part... it's cool to earn points for places I already shop at. BUT... apparently if an offer has two requirements you have to meet to earn points, they can't list both of the requirements which leads you to make purchases you think you're earning points for and you're not. They had an offer for something called Boxed. All it said is 20,000 points for your first purchase. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a minimum amount you needed to spend. I bought something for about $20. I finally reached out to support after not getting my points. The lady that responded said sorry, you had to spend at least $50 AND it had to be your first purchase but they could only put one of those things in the description. What do you mean you can only put 1? That's ridiculous. I either wouldn't have made that purchase at all or actually spent $50. This was a waste of money at the end of the day for me. She gave me 1,000 points for the inconvenience. Still not worth it. You should honor what you put out there.
  • Don’t bother hitting up support

Downloaded this app in late September, early October. Everything started out mostly ok. Linked three cards, up my account. One of my cards was having issues connecting. Drop was very new then so I was giving them the “few business days” that the app said it needed to connect the card. I come back in a week, still pending. Checked back after a month, still pending. Here I am 3+ months later and my (debit) card that I use for most of my spending is still pending. So I emailed support after a few weeks of it being pending and support told me that I probably got my login info incorrect. I know I didn’t but if I did that would be a VERY scary scenario as I can see previews of the account numbers for my both of my checking accounts and my savings account within the app. When I told them this, there was no response. I emailed again, same response, and more silence from their end. Normally I don’t write bad reviews like this but I’m writing this to get their attention and help on this issue. I am willing to change my rating when and if this is fixed.
  • No points

Don’t bother using this app unless you have the time and energy to send tons of emails every day (no phone #) to ask for your points, and even then, you most likely won’t see them. Once I brought to their attention that I had not received Target points from November til June, I was told that I would receive them within some indefinite amount of time, which never came. When I followed up with emails after that, I never received any reply at all. I had issues linking another card and after months, have yet to receive a reply, much less a resolve with my issue. When you do hear back, it’ll be either an automatic reply, or a very general reply (from Jess or Karen, who were not helpful at all) that doesn’t even address the issue you emailed about in the first place. After countless emails and probably 100,000 points I never received, I let them win and gave up.
  • Not to sure about this app

This app was good at first I was getting points almost everyday mainly from uber and lyft so after I redeemed my first set of points I noticed that starting over a lot of my points were missing I tried contacting someone from drop for 2 weeks then finally I emailed them about 10 times at once they get back to me and tell me that I’m wrong nothing is pending except for two offers and they took care of it but I can CLEARLY see I’m missing points and I still didn’t receive whatever they so called handled I also have things pending all they way back from May I check the app enough to know that I’m missing at the very least 3,000 points so I emailed them again this morning I doubt I’ll hear anything back sorry for the long post just want to let you guys know beware of drop I’ll probably just give up and delete the app if no one resolves my issue
  • Can’t link bank card

After reading other reviews about customer service, I figured I should also review them. The app will not allow me to link my bank card. After trying the first time, I contacted customer support. They responded by saying there was a connection issue and I should try to connect the card again. Okay, fine. A couple of weeks later, after closing the bank account I was originally using with Drop, I tried to link my bank card again. This time, it lets me put in my information, but won’t let me pass one of my security questions for my account. Upon emailing them again, I got the same response... verbatim. Seeing as how I’m already halfway to a reward, I’m extremely disappointed that I will no longer be able to use this app. They should really fix their customer service to provide better feedback to customers.
  • Terrible Customer Service

From the outside this app looks great but the minute something goes wrong and you have to deal with customer service you are in for a headache. I have emailed customer service multiple times to find that they don’t read the email carefully and rarely answer the questions I am asking. Also, their offers rarely work. I have followed the offer requirements carefully on multiple occasions and have rarely received my points. I contacted customer service, but as I said it was a miserable experience. They constantly have card link issues, where your card becomes unlinked, and if you miss out on points due to that they feel no obligation to refund you. I am starting to get the impression my card information is not safe with them at all. I would not recommend this app.
  • No effort rewards system

I was pretty skeptical at first seeing some of these reviews, but personally I’ve had no issues pop up. Even though some points have come in before others (app says up to 5 days of transactions). Still though, I’ve redeemed (2) $5 starbucks gift cards and they showed up within a couple minutes after redemption. I don’t know whether things are different depending on which banks some are with, personally I use Chase and it’s been a simple and fun way of getting free coffees. Also don’t go with Walmart, 2 points per dollar is a joke.
