  • More like flag football than Takl

The first few jobs I requested went pretty well. It was all downhill from there. I wound up getting my jobs cancelled because Takl blocked them from even getting to the contractor because they didn’t have anyone specializing in the particular job, or they wouldn’t accept liability for the job. My initial disappointment pertained to a job involving drilling into a ceramic floor tile, which couldn’t be done because Takl was concerned about cracking my tiles. They weren’t too worried about hanging a pull-up bar in my 9ft. ceiling, which could severely injure me if it fell, but couldn’t accept the liability of cracking one of my floor tiles. The second job involved repairing my lawn sprinkler plumbing (splicing one break), but they don’t have any irrigation specialists that can do the job. I would recommend Angie’s List or another home service app, Takl seems to be somewhat limited in the amount of jobs they can perform or are willing to supply an expert or “specialist” to do jobs. They would be my 3rd choice. If you can’t find anyone on an “Angie’s List” type of app, use Takl.
  • Cleaning job

The family that I cleaned for today was so friendly I would love to have them as a regular customer. In fact I wish that Takl made it easier to have regular customers. I don’t know maybe they do I have never been to a location twice. I think that the communication between talk and the subcontractor and or person doing job needs to have a little more with in the app. I want to say that although the app has a few things that could improve. Takl has always been on top of the game when having to get help with app through the support team. Their support team has always helped me in a timely manner and been very polite and courteous and I enjoy working with them. Wish I could do more work or be offered more work through the travel app but I’m happy to have offered to me when I have been offered thank you
  • Angry provider

    By abcdefg654321
I started using the app to try and make more money. I would only accept jobs I knew I could complete for sure and had the experience to do a good job. I saw a lot of “custom jobs” that were basically listed on Takl already but customers didn’t want to pay what Takl was charging. From a provider standpoint Takl already takes out 30 percent of the job fee and adds a 9% service fee. So both the customers and the providers are ripped off. Now on to the customer service. I made a mistake with the flexible time selection and chose an hour before I could actually be there. After a 20 minute chat and them scolding me for making a simple mistake, they finally agreed to contact the customer. They need to be ALOT more understanding especially when going to a job is basically a blind date through this app. I will never use this app to find a job again. They need to give up the whole “we own our customers “ mindset. They are making a fortune off of everyone involved in Takl. A Takl provider is “self employed” but can’t communicate with customers? Come on.
  • Pretty Good!

I was somewhat skeptical at the beginning but it’s turned into a pretty positive experience since then. Patience and persistence is needed to gain your start with takl as you are competing with many others for the same job. But once you’ve been selected and successfully completed your first task, the opportunities to make money become much easier and more frequent. Having a professional looking profile pic and well-written bio have seemed to help me a great deal too. The only reason I’m not rating the app the full 5 stars is mostly a technical one. On more than one occasion the app has unknowingly switched from the “provider” mode, which is needed to receive job notifications, to the “customer” mode, which you would want if you were looking to hire someone to complete a task. So pretty good experience overall...just a few technical kinks to work out. 😬
  • I am a takl provider

    By michael in massachusetts
I like using Takl because I can earn money doing thing I like to do and things I’m good at doing. I have had a few issues using this app but I think that this is the way of the future. I urge the customers to use care when choosing a provider. Also when they show up try to engage the provider to determine if they are comfortable with the chore. Ask if they have done that type of work before. You have the ultimate choice in refusing a provider you think may be less than qualified to perform the task. The customer service with takl is very responsive. Please rate your provider honesty as the ratings are the best way to weed out those providers that will do anything for a buck, even if they have no skills or ability to complete the task to your satisfaction

I worked for TALK for less than 2 months. 1st they restricted my account because the customer accused me of not having a vacuum and TAKL accusing me of canceling the job. They disabled my account for a week. So I stood home for week waiting for them to give me jobs again. Second time, they accused me of soliciting money from customers and restricted me from using the app WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE JOBS I COMPLETED. When I asked them why they haven't paid me, they blamed it on STRIPE; the company that manages the payments. When I contacted STRIPE, they say that my account is active and in good standing and that TALK is the one with the problem. I completed more than 15-20 jobs with excellent reviews from ALL customers. I even took a job at 10 pm at night, travel with Lyft or Uber to get to my jobs and I DID NOT GET PAID. May God Punish you May God take that bread you were depending on from your mouth and your children mouth May other people owe you money and never pay you May God bring you depression May God give you blood pressure as you have heighten mine May God bring you nightmare, lack of sleep because you will not know where the next paycheck will come from and how you will pay your rent AMEN All my hard work All the pain I feel in my hands and lower back when I wake up the morning. THEY OWE ME MORE $500 When I began searching on Google for reviews, I was shocked how many negative reviews you can read about this company.

I was a provider on this app. WAS a provider. Every job they give you your better off working at McDonald’s. You’ll get paid more! Yea you can clean someone’s gutters for $46 and take you 2 hours minimum. Or you can haul someone’s ridiculous amount of junk for a maximum of $70 but by the time you drive there pick up loads and drive to the dump. You’re basically even. They should allow providers to set prices, NOT some guy sitting at a desk looking at averages. Who do they think they are by suggesting and limiting the price of your work. You can’t cap quality and they want everything done for pennies on the dollar. So beware before you become a pro, which I highlyyyyy suggest you don’t, TRUST ME DON’T, think about a job at a deli where you’ll make more money. It’s outlandish, waste of time, and highly unrecommended. THUMBTACK PRO is a way better app for jobs. If you don’t believe me look at the reviews on the BBB of providers. You’ll understand!

Hired a “provider” to arrive at appointed time 330 pst. No way to contact provider ahead of time to confirm appointment the day before or the day of. When the “provide” failed to show I tried to contact customer service. Big mistake. No phone service just chat or email. I first “spoke” to a computer and was told I couldn’t contact provider because you can only contact provider 2 hours before and my appointment was for “8:30 central time”. I explained that no, it was for right now, 3:30 pst. The computer handed me off to a representative who waited 20 minutes before a actually trying to reach out to provider. And then, he only texted provider, he refused to call the provider. I waited weeks for the appointment and then for the provider to no show means having to start all over again to seek new provider. By the way, on this website, you can not hire someone to work hourly. You can only hire someone to work per job or task. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!
  • Don’t use this service

    By Shameleq
I thought it was a great idea to use this app to get a small repair done at my house. I was wrong! I had someone come out to put a kitchen drawer together, paint it and make holes for the hardware. The drawer was put together just fine, even the paint was good. He drilled the holes for my hardware and said when the paint is dry to add the handle. I didn’t get around to do that for a few days and when I did the holes did not line up for my handle to be attached. I can’t use my drawer unless there is a handle. I contacted TAlk to get someone out to fix the problem. They said its past their guarantee time and they would not make it right because they couldn’t know for sure something else was done by me. I told them the window of customer service and fixing what they did not do correctly should not have a timeline window of a few days. Don’t use this service unless you want to spend more money to get the botched job corrected.
  • Customer service is lacking

By Every flipping name was taken!
Tried to set up app during a promo period that gVe you $50 credit to first job. I started off as a provider by accident at first and when I tried to fix it I couldn’t. After a couple of bouts a gave up then I got an email saying my account was fixed. When I went to use it the $50 credit wasn't there. When I asked they said they were no longer doing that promo. I deal with customers all the time. If they didn’t get what hey should have gotten due to a mistake on my part I take care of. Service reps are polite just don’t seemed empowered. I did use the app. Kidman’s are expensive compared to just calling some one example to cut my yard would be over $100 but I get it done for $50. They gentlemen that answered my jobs was top notch. Representing himself and Takl very well. I Sometimes he expense is worth the convenience.
