App Reviews

  • Penn Station App ranks truly at the bottom of the pile

    By Jhpennwv
I have to concur with the opinions of the other users. I have been a firm believer in the Jimmy Johns, which works superbly. I have tried to use this app over a couple of months now. First, over several weeks, I wanted to order a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Everything that I tried to order the Philly Cheesesteak with everything usual, the app said that this was an invalid order. I quit trying. More recently, within the past week, I tried to order using the app. The app kept hanging and would not proceed towards ordering. One last issue. The app keeps your credit card information on file. In comparison to the Jimmy John‘s app, you must use a credit card. There is no option to pay when you show up at the store. My advice to other potential users. Don‘t even bother to download it. It‘s worthless. Unless corporate responds, I will just go back to ordering from Jimmy Johns, although I prefer the taste of the Penn Station Cheese steak sandwich.
  • The App is Useless

As many people noted, this app is utterly useless. I just pulled up to the Penn Station in Elkview WV. I’m literally parked, sitting here, right now, with my dog, directly in front of the front door. I noticed they’ve got a long line, and I saw the sign advertising the app, and the free sub, so I thought I’d download the app, place my order and be able to sit here and chill with my dog, and then go get the order when it’s ready. Instead of standing in line forever while my dog is by herself. Great idea, but NOT TODAY. The app is so slow, it gets stuck constantly and after I placed my order, it just froze up, so I tried to place the order AGAIN, but it did the same thing. So, I called the store and asked if they had my order and they said they’re not showing any orders placed. The guy asked if I just wanted to place my order with him? Well, no, but I guess I have no choice. So, I’ll definitely be deleting this useless app from my iPhone.
  • Not what I expected.... (in a good way)

    By Trinity Knows Best
I was initially put off by of the negative reviews of this app. I’ve ordered through their website before (no major problems), but just downloaded the app today... I must say, it worked flawlessly for me! It let me use my rewards points for a free fry, didn’t give me any error messages, let me see the current month’s specials... etc. I’m not sure why other people seem to have such problems with this app. I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt I should defend this app’s horrible reputation. Thanks PS, I’ll continue to be a loyal customer! :)
  • Buggy

Downloaded app to order on way to restaurant. 20 minutes later still trying to pay for order but couldn’t do it before I was at the cash register. I just placed my order normally at the counter. The problem was with entering payment info. I have never experienced such a laborious process that locks up half way thru repeatedly. Each time it saved the items in the cart but it went back to the beginning of the data entry. The keyboard function would not register input. None of the convenience features of the iPhone worked. Whatever bug fix was just released missed the mark by a wide margin. The sandwich rated a 4 Star BTW.
  • Consistency?

I have used this app frequently, but there have been times that a cashier tells me I can scan anytime and other cashiers that tell me to scan at a certain transaction point. Surprise! Usually, when a cashier tells me to scan whenever is when my activity doesn't get logged. This app is spotty at best and possibly needs more implementation training for stores. Then again, when you spend an inordinate amount of money to get a 6" sub as the reward it isn't very motivating. I would say the best part of the app are the occasional freebies like fries or cookies that you receive.
  • Needs work

    By 11 grand
When I first started using the app it was mainly to get the rewards as I am a frequent flyer at PS. And it was working for that. I got a few free items. I decided to try to order online and that never seemed to work. Then I noticed my rewards weren’t progressing anymore. Today I downloaded the app again thinking maybe there has been an upgrade. Tried to order online and got all the way to confirm and it would not allow. Then when I got to the store and ordered live, it wouldn’t pull up the rewards at all. So it definitely needs some work so that it can actually be used, otherwise it’s a waste of time.
  • Need to order online? Request is invalid

    By MoonDoktor
"Request is invalid" is the error i have gotten for the last 3 months i have tried to use this app. My nearest PS is enough of a drive that ordering from my computer is too soon but the drive eats away a decent chunk of my lunch break. I have to eat a cold club or wolf it down like a speed eating contest. Skip this app if your intent is to skip the line. However, if you need to know the nearest PS and it's accompanying phone and address, this works well enough. But i give one star to this app since the in-store placards are focused on being able to online order your food.
  • No Order through the App?!

    By Kdub516
So they have Facebook and twitter integration so I can tweet that I'm eating Penn Station, but they don't have in app ordering! What kind of stupid business model is that. This app has been around for a year and they still haven’t added ordering through the app. This was a complete blunder by Penn Station, why dump capital into a product that cannot generate revenue? Add online ordering and this becomes a terrific source of revenue. If it had the ability to place an order I’d use the app all the time because apparently it is rocket science for the workers at the counter to take down my order right.
  • Wasted 42 dollars don’t use the app

    By mrfrontman
I attempted to buy some subs through the app and got to the Card CVV screen. I typed in my CVV multiple times but nothing happened. Thinking the charge hadn’t went through a friend and I drove to a different penn Station from the one I used on the app. I come to find out an hour later that the charge did go through when I hop on my email. I contacted the restaurant who directed me to contact corporate, Ive been getting the run around for over a week and a half now. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had and will not buy anything from them again.
  • Just okay.

    By 0010122
Per the version history, a week ago online ordering was updated. I couldn’t find a location that I could click on to online order. The ease of functionality could be better. Just to see the menu I had to click through a couple different options instead of it being an option on the start screen.
