App Reviews

  • fake... stay away!

    By jjiang01
I got this shady email telling me to join the app, so I go ahead and give it a try. after pushing me to enable notifications and location it lets me in... and then I figure out that all the profiles and posts are fake. The posts are in super generic non-campus-specific wording. I found this one dude who just posted 'how to buy textbooks this semester? thinking of going into class this week and asking professors' umm... my school doesn't have semesters and classes don't start for another week. Also a bunch of profiles of people had majors that don't exist at my school. Also I see the same posts getting reposted every several hours to make it look like it's active. They throw in some basic place names to look like people are actually using it, but don't be fooled. It's sketchy as hell, and asks for a lot of personal information too, and floods your news feed with bots. Stay away from this app!!

This app is just super amazing! I love WildFire! It's gives me all my College news and answers all my anxiety filled questions. I swear the first day of school I was so nervous but I posted my questions on the app and everyone answered so quickly and washed my worries away. Whenever I have a question its the fastest way to get them answered. And people are so sweet, caring and amazing. I love it. I truly applaud the hard and amazing work out into it The aesthetics are amazing too. I really do love it. I can’t tell you how much I love this app. Truly. 💚
  • Great News Source for the Community

    By Maddy416 :)
Being in a small community such as Davis, it’s really important to know what’s going on, whether it be a safety hazard or a fun event. This app does it all. It’s your number one news source and your chance to get information out there about something that you know is going on. Would highly recommend downloading even if you’re not interested in posting!! Also they have great customer service and are always looking to improve their app.
  • Great App & Great Customer Service

This app is amazing! It’s super easy to use, navigate, and enjoy. I was having an issue posting pictures but I spoke with a member of their team and my issue was resolved within minutes. On a huge campus like UCD, it’s hard to know what’s happening where - - especially when you live off campus. But this app makes it super easy to figure out what’s happening and stay connected. I can’t wait for an update.
  • Great App

I honestly love this app because it is like a twitter for your school. It notifies you whenever something is “breaking news” and is not overly annoying with notifications. It informed us students of what is going on at campus and allows us to communicate with others within the community. It’s an amazing app and totally worth downloading! Even as a freshman you’ll feel more apart of the school!
  • A1 app for college students

Really ❤️ how this app has different categories one can search under and really admire that if you give feedback they will actually respond back like within a day, RECOMMEND you all to get the app, yes there may have been a glitch for a bit but if you send them some feedback and let them know they'll fix it in no time. Great app 💥
  • The most useful app I have on my phone

    By Rare Object
I got the app 2 months ago and it's been helping me stay up to date with campus. I work 2 jobs and I barely have a social life outside of school. Being able to ask questions, know which areas are dangerous, and laugh at memes people post make me feel that much closer to fellow students on campus. I even made a good friend!
  • Good idea, bad in practice

    By FosterthePhoenix
Started out good, and I really enjoyed it because it allowed me to hear about news and important info going on around my school that I otherwise wouldn’t have heard of. But it’s quickly become a place of just shitposters and people being hateful to others/not talking about issues that are school related. If they had a better moderating system for keeping posts relevant to school life, I’d definitely still be using it, but for now I’m going to delete because it’s become a waste of time.
  • I ❤️🔥 Good intentions and good app

    By K_DMW
Having a platform to discuss campus issues and student life is an important part of college life. Wildfire is doing this very well by setting out categories and giving post prompts. Posts are indeed campus related and the whole atmosphere is positive. Votings are helpful and related to campus issues. This app fills the gap between twitter and facebook and surly did a better job than yikyak!
  • Great for news but needs DM!

This app really helps me know what’s going on around campus, which is great because I don’t hear about things otherwise! It’s good for advice and helping other people. The only downside is that there is no direct messaging on the app yet, but with improvements being made hopefully it won’t be long before they add this feature! Definitely recommend!
